chapter twenty, We're Back Again Bitches!

125 YEARS LATER

"Can you see it? Is it beautiful? It is in my dreams. I hope we do better there. I hope your lives there will be as happy as mine has been. Be the good guys. May we meet again" Monty says over the video. "May we meet again" Nova whispers as she looks out the large window and sees a large beautiful planet. It's been 125 years and Nova woke up thinking it was only 10. Nova woke up finding out Monty and Harper didn't go to sleep but they made a son and his name is Jordan Jasper Green and he looks just like Monty.

Nova did fall out with Monty and Harper but that didn't mean she didn't care for them like she cares for everyone standing near her right now. Including Echo. Nova lost her way and she has yet to find it but she can turn it around and be the good guy because people can change. Even if they've done messed up things.

"I know this is a lot to process. Take an hour and meet in the mess. We need to game this out" Bellamy says and Nova stands up from her seat and looks around at everyone who's mourning Monty and Harpers death and see no one wanting to move. "Guys, we survived. Monty made sure of it" Clarke reassures. "Now we get our humanity back" Abby states and Nova nods her head slowly. "Some of us never lost it" Raven says as she turns around and looks to Abby and Nova before walking off.

Nova scoffs and roll her eyes as she looks back and sees Shaw running after her. Clarke comes up behind Nova and places a hand on her shoulder. "I'm gonna go check on Madi. Join me?" Clarke asks and Nova nods as Clarke takes her hand and takes her over to the cryo and go where Madi is sound asleep. "Don't take what Raven said to heart" Clarke says and Nova shrugs. "It's kind of hard not to when- when I know she's right" Nova says as she leans up against the pods and looks down at Madi's.

"People can change" Jordan walks up and eavesdrops. "Sorry, I didn't mean to- My dad spoke highly of you. He said you lost your way but he knows you'll find it again because he believed people could change" Jordan says and Nova furrows her eyebrows. "He talked about me?" Nova asks and Jordan smiles nodding his head. "Yeah, I've heard a lot about Keket" Jordan says and Nova let's out a sigh, "Hm, you've heard about me but Murphy's your favorite" Nova restates what Monty said in the video.

"It was just a rebellious phase!" Jordan says and Nova let's out a laugh before Nova, Clarke, and Jordan leave the pods and walk out towards the cafeteria. "Oh! Um- My dad preserved this for when we woke up. I'm told it doesn't taste very good, but since it's all I've ever eaten--" Jordan rants handing Nova and Clarke a bowl of algae. "Wouldn't be the first time I had this" Nova sighs as she looks at the bowl. "Um- Thanks" Nova says looking to Jordan who nods his head and looks over to Abby sitting alone.

"Your mom's not touching hers, by the way" Jordan points out and Clarke sighs. "She's worried about Kane. I'll go talk to her" Clarke says and Jordan snaps his fingers like he's remembered something. "Kane. I forgot. Uh, stay here" Jordan says before he walks off. Clarke and Nova walk off further into the cafeteria and see Bellamy, Echo, Emori and Murphy sitting at one table. "Hey, you see Raven or Shaw?" Bellamy asks making Nova and Clarke stop in their tracks.

"You know, the people you handed over to our enemy to be tortured" Emori states and Nova scofffs. "Now, for Clarke, we call that a Tuesday" Murphy says and Nova let's out a little snicker and Clarke turns to her and hits her arm playfully. "Sorry-" Nova says quieting down and shaking her head. "I haven't seen them" Nova shrugs.

"Wouldn't expect you too. I mean after all you did kill Raven's lover" Emori argues and Nova widens her eyes. "I did kill one of her lovers but it's hard to keep up with them these days. Now, Is there a problem?" Nova asks and Emori stands to her feet. "If you want there to be one" Emori replies and Nova scoffs taking a step forward but Clarke holds Nova back and Murphy holds Emori back. "Alright, Alright!" Echo shouts and the two girls stop trying to get too each other and clam down.

"Jesus, No. I haven't seen Raven or Shaw" Clarke answers before she walks away leaving Nova by herself. "I think it's best you walk away" Emori says and Nova let's out a few laughs. "Or what?" Nova asks as she steps towards Emori but Murphy pulls her away. "What did we miss?" Raven asks coming in hand and hand with Shaw. "Me about to kick some Keket ass" Emori argues and Nova widens her eyes. "Oh really? Let's see what that hand can do!" Nova shouts lunging towards Emori but Bellamy quickly holds her back. "Whoa! Whoa! Everyone calm down" Bellamy shouts and Nova stands on one side of the room while Emori stands on the other next to Murphy.

"Okay, everyone. Listen up. Here's what we know. Eligius III was a colonizing misison. According to the file, the mothership went to 5 planets that met necessary conditions for life, dropping mission teams on each one. Monty picked planet Alpha for us because it's the closest and probably the most like Earth" Bellamy rants. "Was there a probably?" Murphy questions while holding Emori's hand. "We have to assume they couldn't know for sure until they got here. We can scan the atmosphere from the bridge" Shaw states and Jordan steps forwards. "Actually, we can't. None of the equipment we used to monitor Earth is working. I'm guessing it's interference from the ionosphere" Jordan explains and Nova looks at Bellamy who's begins talking.

"Bottom line is, we won't know if it's survivable until we get down there" Bellamy states and Nova sighs, "Sounds very.. very familiar" Nova says crossing her arms over her chest. "What about radio signals? Anything from the ground that says the mission team survived?" Raven asks but Bellamy shakes his head. "Likely also the ionosphere. There is an ultra-high-frequency ping on radar, faint but--" Jordan explains and Shaw interrupts him. "A rescue beacon. We used them on Eligius IV to--" Shaw states.

"Okay, sounds great but if there's some beacon down there wouldn't that mean someone is also down there?" Nova asks trying to change the subject as she gets tired of hearing all this science talk. "Not necessarily. They're solar, so--" Shaw speaks, "They can last forever. How long ago did Eligius III get here?" Raven adds. "Hard to tell since they never radioed back, but best estimate--200 years, give or take" Jordan states and Nova furrows her eyebrows. "200 years? After some time you gotta know someone's not coming to the rescue" Nova rants.

"Well, I trust Monty" Echo states and Bellamy clasps his hands together. "Great. Then it's settled. We land at a distance, give us time to acclimate. We'll wait for them to come to us" Bellamy states. "Let's talk about guns. If we have them, we'll use them" Clarke brings up and looks over at Bellamy who sighs. "We're taking guns. We're also taking nonlethals. Now, EligiusIV had gas grenades and shock batons to control the criminals. We won't shoot first this time" Bellamy orders and Raven scoffs. "Then it's obvious Clarke and Nova should stay here" Raven says and Bellamy sighs. "Raven, you're the one that's staying here. Clarke and Nova are coming with us" Bellamy states and Nova sends a smile Raven's way while Raven looks shocked she's not coming down.

"What? Like hell I am" Raven says standing to her feet angrily. "Look. We can't take both our pilots, and since we'll be flying blind until we're below the ionosphere, it has to be Shaw. Clarke and Nova are good at shooting and fighting we will need them" Bellamy rants and Nova looks to Raven who looks over at Clarke and Nova and rolls her eyes. "That's not all. Jordan, you're staying, too" Bellamy informs and Jordan throws his hands in the air and scoffs. "Why?" Jordan asks.

"I know it's hard, but your parents asked us to keep you safe. We have no idea what's waiting for us down there" Clarke says and Echo nods in agreement. "Which is why we should take our best fighters. We got Nova and I but we might need more" Echo states looking to Bellamy who shakes his head.

"My sister is the last person I trust not to shoot first, so she stays on ice with everyone else" Bellamy explains and Nova furrows her eyebrows. "What about Nova? We seriously trust her not to shoot first?" Emori asks and Nova looks to Emori and looks her up and down. "You've got one more time to talk about me and we'll see who shoots first" Nova says uncrossing her arms and looking to Emori aggressively. "Enough. I'll wake up Miller. Say your good-byes. Head to the transport ship" Bellamy says and everyone scatters. Emori continues to look at Nova but Murphy begins to pull her away.

Nova grabs a jacket from her pile of clothes and she grabs her leather jacket with spikes on the end of it and grabs a back pack full of rations and starts walking to the transport ship. She sees Abby waving goodbye to Clarke as Clarke steps in the ship. Nova and Abby lock eyes and Abby finds the courage to wave goodbye to Nova. Nova looks away from Abby and walks right past getting onto the ship and sitting down in a seat and buckles up.

"We're below the ionosphere and I still don't have any instruments. There must be something else. Hang on" Shaw shouts over the loud noise as the ship goes down. "Is there anything I can do?" Emori asks and Shaw sighs. "Yeah. Pray" Shaw replies as the ship goes past the clouds and is met with lots of mountains and a beautiful sunset. Shaw turns around and smiles at everyone, "Boys and girls, meet planet Alpha" Shaw states and Nova looks around the beautiful planet Alpha and can't believe her eyes.

The ship ends up landing perfectly and everyone goes by the door and is ready to see the new world. Shaw presses the button and the door slowly falls down and the sun slowly starts to shine into the ship. Everyone steps a little further out of the ship and sees a bright orange sun and beautiful green trees. Nova takes in a deep breath and feels the breathable air through her body. "Radiation levels good. Eligius III didn't need to send nightbloods, after all" Emori states looking around and can't take the smile off of her face. "How about that beacon, Shaw?" Bellamy asks and everyone looks over to Shaw. "8 clicks due East. I think it's on high ground. There's a water source about halfway" Shaw answers.

"You should go first this time" Clarke says looking to Bellamy telling him to step off first. "No. We go together, all of us" Bellamy says smiling down at Clarke before everyone takes the same amount of steps and steps onto the ground. Nova looks over at Miller who sends her a nod and smiles at her. "Anyone got anything better than 'We're back, bitches'?" Miller asks and Nova chuckles. "We're back again bitches?" Nova questions and Miller pats Nova's back while everyone lets out small laughter.

"Monty would know what to say. He should be here" Murphy says looking down and Emori rubs his shoulder reassuringly. "He is" Bellamy states.
