IF THERE WAS one thing Brixton loved most in the world, it would be surfing. He started surfing when he was about six. His mother taught him everything there was to know about surfing. She guided him and made sure he would become the best.
And she did. Brixton had constant sponsors at his door, but it all came to an end when his mother died. When his mother died, so did the light in his life. He never thought there would be a world without her, but there was and it wasn't a good one.
When his mother died, Brixton decided to leave Shorehaven for a couple of months, he couldn't be in a place that reminded him so much of his mother. It hurt him to know they could no longer share memories of being in their happy place.
Leaving Shorehaven, meant leaving his found-family and that consisted of Ari, Poppy, Bodhi and Summer. It was only for a couple months, but months with out them felt like forever.
Now, here Brixton was, getting out of his fathers car, taking in the smell of salt water that lingered in the air. He was back in Shorehaven and he was going to surf. He had to do it, for his mother, no matter how much it hurt to do it without her.
"I'm going to drop your stuff off at the Gibsons'." His father Mark, tells him, handing him his surf board. "You'll be staying there."
"You aren't staying?" Brixton gives his father a look of disbelief.
Ever since his mother died, his father has been acting like he couldn't care less about him or anything else in his life. He didn't act like a father and he obviously didn't realize how much of an impact it had on his son.
"No, I can't stay here." Mark shakes his head, his accent thick. "I told you that."
"No, you didn't!" Brixton exclaims, snatching his board from his fathers grip. "You told me you were going to give it a try, you were going to stay and—."
"Well, I changed my mind!" Mark shouts back. "I'm not staying and neither are you if you keep acting like this."
Brixton scoffs, trying to ignore his hurting heart. "I should've known better than to believe the words that come out your mouth. Leave, I don't care."
Brixton walks away, clutching onto the board that was attached to his side. He felt so stupid for believing that his father for once was going to actually be there for him.
As he walked down to the beach, he drowned out the calls coming from his father and made his way towards the direction he knew his people would be. Brixton, was nervous. He completely went a-wall on them and never answered their texts, he could only hope they understood why.
As he made his way over, he immediately caught sight of Poppy and Bodhi, who were embracing Summer into a hug, guess she was back too. Brixton puts a smile on his face as he rushes forward, placing his board to the side and wrapping his arms around the three girls.
The three girls all screech at the sudden pair of arms around them, before trying to see who the culprit was. They gasp when they catch sight of the dirty blonde that grinned at them, moving back so they can properly see him.
"Brixton!" Summer shouts.
"Bri-Bri!" Poppy shrieks, pushing past summer and engulfing the boy in the hug.
"Hey, Pops." Brixton wraps his arms around her, swaying them side to side. Poppy and Brixton were the closest out of the whole group, they had an unbreakable bond, despite the fact that he, Ari and Summer all grew up together
"You're back." Poppy says, breathlessly as she stares up at her best friend. "You're really back."
"I'm back." Brixton kisses her forehead. "And I'm not leaving anytime soon."
"My turn!" Summer pushes Poppy away from the Lennon boy before she could respond. Summer throws herself at Brixton, who catches her with a laugh. "Hey, Aussie."
"Hey, New York." Brixton greets her back. He was happy that none of them have yet to give him sympathy or even question why he went silent, but he still had the day ahead of him.
"Don't hog him now." Bodhi nudges summer out the way before embracing Brixton herself.
"I can't believe you guys are back." Poppy says, her eyes mainly on Brixton, who have her a small smile.
"Neither can I." Brixton says, honestly.
Poppy goes to speak again, but she's stopped by a voice. "Brix?"
Brixton felt his heart stop at the sound of the familiar voice that held a strong brazilian accent, that once made his heart flutter. The girls give Brixton encouraging smiles before walking off, just far enough to give them privacy.
"Marlon." Brixton eyes him, his hands behind his back.
"You're here." Marlon speaks, happiness in his tone. He honestly thought he would never see the blonde in front of him again.
"I am." Brixton nods.
"How are you—."
"We don't have to do this, Marlon." Brixton interrupts him, stopping him from continuing the question. "I still haven't forgiven you for what you did to me."
"You have to know how sorry I am and—."
"Marlon, please." Brixton sighs. "I just got back. I don't need this stress, just let me be for now."
Marlon simply nods, not saying anything, but he watches as Brixton makes his way over to the girls, who smiled at him, bringing him into a group hug. They knew seeing Marlon would take a toll on him.
"Hey, where's Ari?" Brixton asks, as him and the girls walk back over to the announcer table, going to get his board.
"Heading our way now." Summer nods over to the water, where Ari was walking out. Summer practically drooling.
"Might want to close your mouth, Summer." Brixton teases. "You don't want to catch any flies."
"Shut up." Summer pushes him playfully before looking over to Ari, who looked at them with a wide smile, but he looked taken back to see Summer.
"Hey." Ari's wide eyes on Summer.
"Hi." Summer greets back, gentle smile on her lips, she goes to walk towards him, but stops when a girl rushes past her and towards Ari, wrapping a towel around his neck as she pulls him in close.
"Hey, handsome." The girl, brings him in for a kiss. "How was practice?"
Brixton brings Summer into his side, she places her head on his shoulder, a saddened look on her face. Brixton rubs her arm. "You're gonna be okay, Sum."
Summer nods, leaning into him. The two watch as Ari turns his attention towards them again. "Um, Wren...This is Summer and Brixton."
"Oh! Summer, hi. Oh, my God! Hi!" Wren grins. She skips over to Summer, pulling her into a hug. She turns to Brixton, going to do the same. "Brixton, hi!"
She goes to hug him, but Brixton takes a step back, shaking his head. "Hi, but, um, I'm not that fond of hugging people I don't know."
"Right, apologies." Wren clears her throat as the others try to get rid of their laughters "I've heard so much about you guys."
"Brix, Summer, this is Wren, my girlfriend." Ari introduces.
"Kinda figured, when she shoved her tongue into your mouth, mate." Brixton chuckles at the redness that rushed to Ari's cheeks.
"Uh, Ari! How could you not tell me that they were coming?" Wren asks, obnoxiously.
"I was trying to surprise him." Summer speaks up.
"And I'm just here." Brixton shrugs.
"Mission accomplished." Poppy says, earning chuckles.
"How are you doing? After your mother—."
"Ari never could keep his mouth shut." Brixton cuts Wren off. "Respectfully, it's none of your business, thank you. Now, I'm going to wax my board, I'll see you."
"I'm going with!" Poppy follows after him, jumping on Brixton's back, making him stumble forward with a laugh as he catches her.

"So your father isn't here?" Poppy breaks the silence between them.
Brixton slowly stops waxing the bottom of his board, placing it down. "You were doing so well, Pops."
"I know I'm sorry." Poppy apologizes, bumping her shoulder into his. "I shouldn't have asked."
"It's okay to ask." Brixton retorts. "Just not right now, I just got back and I really need to get my head in the game before I get out there."
"How are you getting out there?" Poppy questions. "It's the finals. They might not even have wild card spots."
"I don't want to make you an accomplice, Pops. It's best you don't know." Brixton pats her shoulder.
"You're going to be disqualified before you even get the chance to get out there." Poppy gives him a look.
"I'm Brixton Lennon." The dirty blonde says proudly. "I can get away with anything."
"Yeah, all you have to do is blink those pretty blue eyes and you got them on your side." Poppy stands up, reaching down to help Brixton do the same.
"Mama always told me to make use of what you have." Brixton jokes, making Poppy let out a laugh. Though the joke wasn't entirely false.
"Brixton, you're going to do amazing out there." Poppy links her arm with his. "Just block the world out and remember what your mother taught you. Keep it in your head and heart, okay?"
"Mhm." Brixton hums. "You're the best, Pops."
"I know."

"Ari, please." Brixton pleads as he sits down on the bench that resides in the middle on the men's locker room. Ari, right in front of him.
"No." Ari denies. "No way."
"Ari, man." Brixton gives him puppy dog eyes. "It's ten seconds. That's all I'm asking for."
"I already said no to Summer, so I'm saying no to you too." Ari states. "Find another way, I can't risk my spot."
"A spot you wouldn't have without me." Brixton remarks. "I helped you last time, Summer did too."
"Brix, I'm sorry." Ari runs a hand through his hair. "I can't get you out there. I need this."
Ari pats his shoulder before getting up and leaving the locker room. Brixton let's out a loud groan, throwing his head back. All he wanted to do was surf and show everyone...show his mother that he still had the ability to make her proud.
"I can help." A voice speaks, suddenly, making Brixton's head snap towards the direction of the voice. He felt his breath get caught in his throat at the sight of the boy in front of him.
The boy had light pink hair, a body well built and a set of the prettiest eyes he's ever seen. Brixton let his eyes roam over the pink haired boy, taking in eyes piece of him. Brixton practically had to hold himself back from dropping to his knees. This is was a great example of why he was gay.
Brixton snaps out of his head, when seeing the smirk that formed on the males face. "Let's get to it then."
✯¸.•'*¨'*•✿ ✿•*'¨*'•.¸✯
The fine pink haired boy, got someone to go up to the guards and talk his ear off, giving him the chance to sneak past and find himself a spot in the water, where later he was joined by pink hair.
"I just gave you a shot." He starts. "You better use it wisely."
"I intend too." Brixton gives him a wink.
Pink hair goes to respond, but a loud voice over the speaker, speaks loudly. "Could the pool invader get out of the comp zone?!"
"Now's your chance." Pink hair gives him a smile, that would've had him swooning if it wasn't for the predicament he was in.
Brixton ignored his name being called from Ari and Marlon as he swam forward, drowning out the world around him. He pushes himself up on the board, doing a simple bottom turn, allowing himself to
channel his speed and momentum toward the open face ahead of him. He was just getting started.
Brixton then hits them with a cutback, which takes him back from the shoulder and into the pocket of the wave, which repositions him in the energy zone, giving him more speed as he went on.
He could faintly hear the crowd chanting as the announcer speaks. "That's Brixton Lennon everyone! He's back and looking better than ever!"
Only thing on his mind was his mother. Now, closing in, Brixton hits them with a roundhouse cutback, he needed to build up as much speed as he could while maintaining in the pocket.
As Brixton goes fast down the line, he did a wide bottom turn that pointed him to the lip of the wave, which caused him to shift onto his heel side, aiming his leading shoulder toward the beach. His board immediately started to move like a watch running anti-clockwise.
Brixton felt the board carving the salted water as his front foot took all the weight, gliding against the water. Now ending, he found a low stance to maintain flow, and adjusted his body weight over the center of the surfboard. Brixton began to turn, adding weight to his toes. He releases the pressure of his heels and just like that he was done. He ended perfectly.
As he reached the shore, the world around him started coming back to life. Everyone cheered and he could hear his friends calling out his name. He smiled at them, grabbing his board and running over.
"That was sick!" Summer exclaims.
"You did amazing." Poppy adds. "Though, I don't like how you did it."
"Of course you don't." Brixton rolled his eyes playfully.
"Better than ever." Manu, starts coming towards the two teens. He places a hand on the Lennon's shoulder. "Glad to see you back, rider."
"Glad to be back." Brixton smiles at him, Manu bringing him into a hug. He did it. He surfed and he didn't amazing. He hoped it was enough for his mother.
As he pulled away from Manu, his eyes goes towards the water, where he saw pink hair staring at him. Brixton gives him a nod with a smile and in return he received a wink, just before he himself started his head.
