BAXTER BITES HIS THUMBNAIL nervously as he watches Brixton swim into the water, Marlon right next to him. He was nervous to see how his boyfriend would do. Especially with Marlon going in instead of him. It was scarier being on the sidelines, then being there next to him.

'Big change up for Team Victoria as the sub Marlon Sousa, replaces one of their big stars, Baxter Radic, who is now watching from the sidelines.'

Brixton gives Marlon a nod before he turns around, ready to catch the wave that was coming right towards him.

'And Brixton Lennon's away. With him, Team Vic is sure to get their way.'

Brixton starts off with a simple curve, changing his line and direction in the open sections of the waves, putting his weight and power on the surfboard's rail. Burying the rail in the water, drawing an arc as he stays in the curl. This allows him to see Marlon who was right behind him.

'Team Victoria's unorthodox celebrations seem to yielding results, with Lennon coming on top and sub Marlon blitzing his way to the Boy's Final, right behind Lennon.'

"Go, Brix!" Baxter cheers, the others following.

"Go Bri! Go Marz!" Poppy yells out, making her way towards Baxter. She nudges him, making him look down at her. "You didn't leave."

"I thought about it." Baxter starts, his eyes trailing over to Brixton who gave Marlon a high five as they get ready for the next set of waves. Marlon going first. "But I have everything I need right here. He's all I need."

"You've made him the happiest he's ever been." Poppy smiles. "Thank you."

"No, thank you necessary." Baxter shakes his head. "I'm only returning the favor. If it wasn't for him, I would've been long gone by now."

"He would've been too." Poppy says, the soft smile never leaving her lips. "You guys have a love that's so pure."

Baxter felt his stomach flutter at the words that slipped past her lips. Baxter never thought the love word would come up so soon, but it did and it made him realize that he did in fact love the brunette. Brixton in only a handful of months has made him feel what he's been wanting to feel for years.

'Only a minute left'

Brixton cursed at himself, he needed a bigger finish. He sucks in a breath as he wastes no time in taking the next wave, needing to put a bigger score on the board.

Brixton drowns out the world around him, only focusing on his board and the speed he needed to pick up to pull a floater and then a closeout re-entry to finishing everything it off. It was either go big or lose it all.

Brixton with his speed, starts gliding horizontally over the wave's lip, keeping his legs strong, he goes over the top of the crumbling area of the wave, gliding through it. Leaving everyone in shock.

To finish it off, Brixton accelerates from a deep bottom turn towards the oncoming section.

To avoid getting knocked off, he flexes his legs and keeping a strong back foot, adding pressure just before he hits it. His center of gravity now lower than the surfboard's with his backside under the rail.

Now going back up to the lip, he pushes his board hard against the wave. Flattening his board against the lip, compressing hard as he could, especially since he wants to push it back out.

Simultaneously, his head, shoulder and arms, start rotating, taking him back into the wave. Before the wave could take him over, he keeps his legs flexed and strong while targeting the landing zone so that his body follows the movement.

Brixton felt his heart beat all throughout his body as he comes to an end, he lets the lip carry him out of the turn and he releases pressure to get the board underneath his body.

Brixton bends his legs to absorb the impact and puts his weight on his back foot to avoid nose-diving. Just like that he was done. He stuck the landing.

Brixton let the world around him come back to life, a wide grin on his face as he hears the team cheering him on. Marlon over by them, screaming along with them.

'Levins finishes strong on 15 points overall.'

Brixton hears as he runs right into Baxter's open arms. The boy not caring about getting wet at all, only wanting to hold his boy. Brixton stuffs his head in Baxter's neck, his legs wrapping around his waist. Baxter kissing his open neck, gently.

"You did amazing, love." Baxter tells him softly as he walks towards the team, Brixton in his arms. "Absolutely amazing."

"I had amazing motivation." Brixton lifts his head to connect his gaze with Baxter's, who stops walking to simply stare at him back, the two taking in everything that was now theirs. Brixton leans down, capturing Baxter's soft lips.

The team watching, all burst out into cheers, clapping like if they had found out they won, which made the two boys pull apart, letting out laughs. Baxter places Brixton down, allowing him to rush to his friends, Poppy the first to embrace him, the others joining in as they wait to hear the results.

'Both Sousa and Lennon need a 7.5 or better'

Brixton squeezes Baxter's hand, letting go before making his way over to Marlon, linking their arms. Marlon sending him a nervous smile as he tightens his arm around Brixton's. The two have come a long way, but it was good to know that at a time like this, they had each others backs. They always would because before everything, they were friends.

'Sousa gets a 7.7 and Lennon with a 8.0! They did it! They take out the Boys' Final!'

Marlon and Brixton look at each before pulling the other in a hug, the others surrounding them, cheering their names. When they separate, Brixton goes over to Baxter who stands there, as always waiting for him, with open arms.

Brixton falls into them, Baxter's arms wrapping around him securely. They place their foreheads together and as they stare at each other, Brixton realizes he never felt more at home then he did in the moment.

"You're it." Brixton whispers, just loud enough for Baxter to hear. Baxter raises his eyebrows. "You're my person. You're—I—..."

"I know." Baxter responds. "You're my person too."

"No." Brixton shakes his head. He sucks in a deep breath, preparing himself for the aftermath of what he was about to say. "I-I love you, Baxter. With everything in me. You're the person I want to tell how my day went. You're the person that I want to be there by my side through everything. You're the person I want to share my sadness, my happiness, my success, my everything with. God, I found you without looking for you. I found you in the darkest moment of my life and from this point on, I don't want to lose you, Bax. I love you."

Baxter stands there dumbfounded. He knew he loved Brixton, but he never thought Brixton would love him back. It was scary for a second, but he couldn't give up the one person who has made him feel nothing, but peace.

"I love you." Baxter whispers back. "More than you know. For the longest, I never knew what love was, but I found it...in you. You taught me what love should feel like. I'm-I'm not good that this, but I love you, handsome and I don't think this feeling is going away anytime soon."

Brixton felt his eyes water, not having expected any of this to happen. Not having expected his happy ending to happen. Baxter chuckles deeply, wiping his boyfriends stray tear. Brixton pecks his lips before allowing Baxter to hold him. The two wishing they could stay in this moment for as long as they could.

After their confessions, they watched Summer make the biggest comeback she's ever done. It was amazing, though Brixton had to stop Baxter from ripping Wren's head off, though it was very much deserved, since she tried to ruin it all for their team, but as always Summer pulled through.

Now they stood in the main area, the announcers now going over the winners. Starting at third place. "In third place, New South Wales!"

Brixton, along with the others clap as they watch the team take their trophy and take a picture. They were now in a scary place, either they were second or first. Brixton moves towards Summer wrapping an arm around her, his free hand, intertwined with Baxter's. They anxiously waited for the announcer to speak again.

"And in second place..." The announcer starts. "This was incredibly close. Team Victoria!"

Brixton felt chills go down his body as his team screamed out and cheered. They actually did it. They went from last place to second and it was all because they finally excepted everything for the way it was and became a family, like they use to be before Elo came in and momentarily destroyed them.

Summer and Brixton go to rush towards the stage, but he stops when Baxter doesn't dare move an inch. Brixton looks at him, his eyebrows furrowed. "What are you doing?"

"I don't deserve to be up there. My sisters—."

"Don't." Brixton cuts him off. "You deserves to be up there just as much as we do. You are not responsible for your sisters actions. You part of the reason we even made it this far. You're meant to go up there."

"Come on, Bax!" Summer waves him over.

"Let's go boys!" Ari does the same, a wide smile on his lips.

"See." Brixton gives him a little pull. "They want you up there too."

Baxter let's Brixton pull him up on the stage, Poppy handing him the trophy. Brixton watches happily as Baxter holds it up, the crowd cheering for them. His eyes meet with his older sister's who held a heated look, Wren next to her, her eyes on the floor, though she held a small smile on her lips, only he could see. Only if she came to her senses.

Not a second after he looks away, the two leave, leaving him behind. He no longer cared because like he said earlier, he had everything he needed right here. He had his lover and now a team that cared for him more than his sisters ever did and he couldn't be happier.

Instead of going to the party to celebrate the teams win, Brixton and Baxter, found themselves on the docks, watching the beautiful sunset as they sat on a blanket, eating ice cream. They just wanted to be on their own, after the day they've had.

"I still haven't read my mothers letter." Brixton breaks the silence, placing his empty ice cream cup down. "With my dad back, I only want to know what she wrote more, especially in his letter."

"I say rip the bandage off and read it." Baxter scoots himself closer to Brixton, laying his head on his lap as he stares up at the gorgeous boy. "I think it'll give you the closure you've been waiting for."

"I didn't want to read it alone. I've been alone for so long. I don't think I could've been when reading this." Brixton takes out the letter from his back pocket. "I wanted to wait until I was secure enough. Until I wasn't alone."

"You're not alone anymore." Baxter promises, taking Brixton's hand and placing a gentle kiss on his knuckles. "Let's do it. Together."

"Together." Brixton nods, leaning down to kiss Baxter's cheek before he moves to open the letter, his heart pounding at a irregular pace as he sees the words on the paper, written in his mother's beautiful script, the words in thick blue ink, meaning she used her favorite pen.

To my sweet boy,

I know how much this hurts you. I know how much you're going to blame yourself for not being by my side when I passed, but I want you to know that it isn't your fault. I didn't want you to see me go. I wanted your last memory of me to be a good one, not one that would stay imprinted in your brain and you'll hate not only me, but your father for even having you see such a thing. I need you to stop blaming yourself, stop putting everything on you because nothing is your fault. It never will be. I want you to watch over your father. I know he's going to drive you away, but don't give up on him. You guys need each other now more than ever. If he does drive you away, I know where you'll go and if you're receiving this letter it's because I was right. The Gibson's were always our second family. When your father comes back for you, let him in and let him be your father. To finish this letter off, I want you to be strong. I want you to find someone who made me feel like your father made me feel. Find a home and never let it go because it only comes once. And when you do find them, I hope they know how lucky they are to have a boy like you in their life. Go visit our favorite places with them, go surfing, do everything we loved with them. My handsome boy, you have made me the proudest momma ever. I love you with everything in me and I will continue to do so, never forget that. Find your peace and never let it out of your grasp. This your time to shine, baby. You deserve it all, remember that.

Sincerely, your beautiful mother.

When the letter came to an end, Brixton let out a small sob. He tries to cover it, but as soon as Baxter brings him into his embrace, he loses it and allows himself to let it out. He allows himself to not only mourn over his mother, but allows himself to stop blaming himself. He lets go of all the guilt that had been eating up at him for months.

"You're going to be okay." Baxter tells him, his voice brittle. "I got you, you know that?"

Brixton only nods, not being able to form words. He got his closure. He got what he's been dying for, for months. He felt a sense of relief, he felt like he could move on and not stay stuck. Brixton could be happy and not feel guilty about it.

I love you, Mom. Thank you.
