BRIXTON LETS OUT A GASP as he walks out of the room and to the outside, seeing all of their clothes thrown everywhere. From the ground, to the trees to even the roof of the building. It was a mess.
Brixton rolls his eyes at Ari and Griff's bickering as he goes and picks up a couple of his shirts that he left in one of the rooms. Thank the lord, the rest of his things were with his father.
"Okay, everyone listen up!" Wren shouts, getting their attention. Brixton wanting nothing more than for her to fall off Ari's shoulders. "They're only pranking us because they see us as a threat. "We can't let anything derail this team. We're still a big chance of the win."
"Wren's right. Don't let them psych us out." Bodhi agrees.
"You're the one being psyched out." Brixton comments. "Pay attention to who you're agreeing with."
She simply just stares at him, Wren next to her not knowing what to say. Brixton scoffs and moves next to Poppy, who next to Marlon, staring at her favorite stuffed goat that was stuck in a tree.
"Do they want to die?" Brixton runs a hand through his hair. "You want me to get it?"
"And get yourself hurt. No way." Poppy waves off as of the goat didn't mean anything to her. "We need you today and I will not have you get hurt for this."
"Pops—."
"Alright, guys, grab what you need and we'll get payback on the water." Elo walks out, hands on her waist.
"But we have to get the goat." Summer and Brixton speak in unison. Elo turns to look at them.
"It was the last thing Poppy's mom gave her before she died." Brixton informs her. "That's worth more than anything."
Elo eyes him and then looks to the goat. "It'll still be here when we come back with the trophy. Why don't you two try focusing on surfing today, yeah?"
"Why don't you actually coach instead of running your mouth all day?" Brixton shoots back before turning around and walking away, in search for his special boy.

"What on earth happened out there?!" Elo yells at Ari, who was zoned out, breathing heavily as he placed his head in his hands. Tears threatening to flow down his face.
Brixton was too busy searching for Baxter, but after not finding him, he went to Ari's heat and it was a mess. He didn't catch not one wave and eventually the time ran out, making Team Vic look horrible. At least in Elo's eyes.
"I thought I had more time." Ari tries, turning to glance at her.
"Really?" Elo exclaims. "You didn't hear the five minute warning? Or the two minute warning? Or the one minute warning?"
Baxter finally walks in and finds his place next to Brixton who doesn't glance at him, until Baxter intertwines their fingers. Brixton squeezes his hand before he turns kisses the back of it. Baxter smiling at the feeling all throughout his body. Brixton moves closer to Baxter, laying his head on his shoulder as they listened to Elo's obnoxious voice.
"...but Wren kept telling me you had clutch!" Elo shouts at Ari.
"That enough!" Brixton cuts in, lifting his head off Baxter's shoulder, their hands still together.
"You don't get to talk to him like that!" Summer adds.
"Guys don't—."
"You two want to join him on the bench?!" Elo points at the blonde sitting next to her.
"I think we'd both rather quit surfing forever than win anything for you." Summer claims.
"Guess being pathetic runs through the female genes of your family." Brixton says, Baxter's grip getting tighter.
"What happened, Brix?" Baxter sits up, turning Brixton to them look at each other. Brixton sucks in a breath. This is going to be harder than he thought. "Talk to me."
"You remember the purge paper?" Brixton asks, Baxter gives him a small nod, clutching onto his hand. "Elo wanted that to happen. She set it all up."
"What?"
"She did the same thing to Tuscany a year ago. The bonfire, the stray paper, everything. It was all planned." Brixton turns just a bit to look at the others who all seemed to be in a state of disbelief.
"Wren, you said Tuscany bullied you." Bodhi says, her voice soft.
"She did." Wren glares over at her. "She wrote horrible things about me."
"After you made her life a fucking shit show." Brixton continues. He releases a breath, looking to Baxter. "This-This is what Elo does. You know this. That's why you haven't participated in the activities. She turns us all against each other just to get us fired up in the water."
"Poppy, Brixton and Bodhi, Brixton and Ari, me and Wren." Summer lists off.
"Bax, Bodes, I don't know what she's talking about." Wren attempts to lie.
"Yes, you do. You both do." Baxter finally break his silence, he looks away from the most comforting pair of ocean blue eyes he's ever looked into and to his sisters distraught ones. "Could we just be honest for once?!"
"All of you listen up! When I took this job, you were the team who could barely beat Tasmania." Elo raises her voice even louder than before. "You might not like my methods, but here we are. We're in reach of the trophy. Obviously, you needed to hear some hard truths."
"Harsh truths?" Brixton once again, turns to Baxter, turning the boy so that all his attention was on him. "I found this out yesterday and if you want to hate me that's fine, but you need to know this."
"Brixton..." Wren trails off, when Brixton flips her off.
"Team Queensland never dropped you, darlin'." Brixton could feel Baxter tense up. "They fired Elo for her garbage methods and Wren for bullying. None of it happened because of you. It wasn't your fault, pretty boy."
"They did not fire me! They forced me to resign!" Elo gains Baxter's attention, the boy looking at her with so many emotions in his eyes. "And it was one complaint from Tuscany's parents."
"Bax, she stayed quiet and blamed you for the move to Shorehaven and you're sister knew about it." Brixton grabs his free hand, locking their fingers, Baxter holds onto him so tight as if trying to find and gain stability, but Brixton was his stability.
"I was just trying to keep our family together." Elo begins, her voice now as gentle as ever. "Your career depends on my reputation."
Baxter closes his eyes momentarily, savoring the touch of his lover before he lets go and fully faces his sister, giving her stone cold eyes, full of betrayal and hurt. "Your reputation?"
Ari stands and walks away, Wren right behind him. Baxter snatches the lanyard from around his neck off and places it in his older sisters hand. "Goldy's got the right idea."
Baxter rushes away, not looking back as he walks back into the changing rooms. Brixton felt his heart pumping at a quick pace, hands clenched next to him, all the anger he built up was slowly leaving his body.
"Congratulations, Brixton, Summer. You're benched." Elo gives them a fake smile. "Right now, Bodhi and Poppy are going up."
"They aren't going anywhere." Bodhi steps up, standing behind Summer, who kept glancing at Brixton, who kept looking back at the changing rooms.
"Yeah, what she said." Poppy walks over and links her arm with Brixton, the boy giving her a small smile. He only wanted to go talk to Baxter.
"I'm with Pops." Griff tilts his head.
"I'm with Griff."
"In case you missed it, you're not our coach anymore." Summer smirks.
"Seems like your 'reputation' and career are fully over." Brixton waves her goodbye before he rushes back to the changing room.

As Brixton walks into the changing room, the sound of banging fills his ears making him pick up his speed, but stops when a guy passes by him, a very angry expression on his face as he did so.
"Poor bugger lost his heat." Baxter says, looking at Brixton from where he sat on the bench, a tired expression on his face. "Testosterone overload."
"I'm sorry." Brixton takes a seat in the empty spot next to him. He turns his body to face Baxter. "I found out so late last night and you were already asleep and I didn't want to ruin your—."
"Brixton, my love. I don't blame you. It's okay." Baxter moves to rummage through his bag, not going to be able to look his lover in his eyes at the words that we're about to leave pats his lips. "You're better off without us-me anyway."
"What?" Brixton lets out, his words breathy. He felt his heart drop. "Baxter, no. You can't do that. You can't leave."
"You we're right, I should've listened to you about them." Baxter stands, not daring to even glance the Lennon boy's way. "She's been making me pay for something that wasn't even my fault. I'm so stupid! I'm completely gullible."
"No you're not. Don't blame yourself for believing in your family—."
"Ever since we got here, it's been Baxter this, Baxter that. Like I'm ruining her life?!" Baxter exclaims, opening his locker abruptly before turning to face Brixton who was right behind him, looking at him with such soft eyes. Baxter felt like he could breathe again for a moment. "And this whole time it was just her bruised ego that's just...I'm just so stupid. How could I not see it and-and...It was there!"
"Stop it! Stop calling yourself stupid. I-I hate that." Brixton moves his warm hands and places them on Baxter's cheeks. "You, Baxter Radic are far from stupid. You are never stupid for loving and trusting your family because they are your family. They're supposed to be the people we can trust and protect no matter what."
Baxter leans into Brixton's comforting touch. "Like you protected me."
"I'd protect you with everything in me." Brixton doesn't look away from Baxter's face. "I got you through everything and anything. I know what it feels like to be betrayed by family and you aren't alone, Bax. You never will be. You do not get to beat yourself for their mistakes."
"You're so special." Baxter places his forehead onto Brixton's. "It's because of you, I've even come this far. I don't know what I would've done if I didn't meet you."
"Bax, if you're leaving—."
"You hold my heart, no, no. You are my heart." Baxter corrects. I love you. "No one has ever made me feel, the way you do. I don't want to lose you. If I lose you, I lose everything."
"Then stay. Stay with me." Brixton begs. "We get through this day and then we go wherever you want. We get as far away from here and-and your sisters as we can. As long as I am with you, I don't care about anything else."
"We can do that on one condition." Baxter let's a beautiful smile grace his face. Brixton smiles back, tilting his head just a bit. "You go out there and surf your heart away. You've been dying to get out there and now is your chance. Not only for me, but for you mother."
"Will you be there cheering me on?"
"Where else would I be, love?"

Brixton sat on a towel that he laid out on the sand. He was waxing his board, getting ready for his heat. He didn't have just any board though. Not his mothers board, but the board Baxter made him.
Brixton would've never thrown the board out like he told Baxter he did. It would be like throwing away a piece of himself because Baxter held his heart and he wouldn't want it any other way.
"And here I thought you threw it away." Baxter's voice breaks him out of his thoughts.
Brixton turns his gaze up to look at the boy, who was holding two slushes, one in each hand. He held a grin on his face as he takes the empty spot next to boyfriend. Brixton grins back. "I told my father to take it out the trash and drop it off. My fins on the other ones were loose."
"I wonder how that happened." Baxter acts clueless, passing Brixton the blue slushy he had in his right hand. "You know your heart couldn't take throwing it away."
"And you know your heart couldn't take being away from me for a day." Brixton remarks, happily taking a sip of the slushy.
"My heart only wants to be with you." Baxter shrugs, a smile on his lips. "I only want to be with you."
"Well, it's your lucky day. I only want to be with you too." Brixton goes back to waxing his board, glancing at Baxter, who was simply just admiring him. "Plus, you're a piece of me, meaning this board is a piece of me. Never will I throw that away or even give it up."
Baxter's smile grows wider, Brixton smiles
back, going to keep on waxing his board, but Baxter reaches over and grabs his chin, making him look back at him. Baxter's eyes go from his eyes to his lips and just a second after, Baxter captures Brixton's lips,
making them rightfully his in front of everyone, who all watched the boy they cared about so much, finally find his peace. His happiness.
They break their kiss, when Brixton pulls back, due to familiar music filling his ears. His eyes go to Ari, who tosses his phone down before dancing to the song. The song both he and Summer choreographed, when they were younger. Ari dancing along with them. It was their childhood dance.
"What are you doing?" Summer asks him with a laugh, they others doing the same.
"You should know, you and Bri choreographed it." Ari responds, continuing to dance.
"Obviously, but she was asking why are you doing it." Brixton says, trying to stop Baxter from letting out an hysterical laugh.
"Every other team has something they do to psych themselves up." Ari explains as he dances to the music, making them laugh harder.
"At least do it right, Ari." Brixton kisses Baxter's cheek before he stands up and joins Ari in dancing. The team laughing at the two, who were enjoying themselves.
Summer eventually joins them, going by Ari. The three dancing and enjoying themselves, just like they were kids. This caught the attention of the other teams. Each team staring at them, some type of admiration in their eyes.
Summer goes and grabs Poppy as Brixton goes to Baxter, who protested shaking his head rapidly, but it was no use. Brixton pulls him up, and pulls him towards the others. Brixton starts to dance around him and quickly, Baxter opens up and starts dancing, letting himself open up and actually enjoy this normal feeling.
As time went on, the others joined in and the team was never happier then in this moment. They forgot about all their problems and enjoyed the moment, which is what they should have done all along.
