one; a becker always survives
the ends of her fingers were bent at an odd angle, she herself couldn't feel the agony of it. Just a dull ache as she blinked away the unknown feeling of uneasiness and confusion. It stung as she pushed her hand against her chest, her nose scrunched in discomfort. Her helmet felt like it was sticking to her skin as sweat ran along the crease of her forehead.
She heard the squeak of her bicycle wheels turning over and over as she held back her tears. The loud platter of her fathers footsteps could be heard in the distance as he looked at her with fear.
His hands were freezing when they touched her arm in comfort "Alice, you can't run off by yourself..." his voice sounded scratchy. He reeked of cigarettes and aftershave as he looked at her broken fingers.
She whimpered when they shifted to the side his face shifting to an unknown expression as he looked at the blood that stained her knees. It was almost like he was in a trance as he carefully picked her off the sidewalk.
He didn't speak, his eyes so full of emotion for the first time in a long time. Alice felt small in the moment as he rushed towards his truck.
"I tried to find mommy.... I'm sorry" he exhaled deeply as her words as he sneered for a split second. "Your mother isn't coming back Alice, she's moved on... and we don't need her anymore".
Alice nibbled her lips nervously as her father drove down the road in a frantic pursuit. She inhaled so sharply she felt lightheaded as she spoke. "You're sad, I wanted to make you be happy again. We need her".
She meant her fathers gaze in the mirror and she saw the perfect image of herself as she watched his face turned into one of pure agony.
The knock was loud Alice jumped out of her sleep as she groaned and rubbed at the side of her head. "Alice wake up! You've got ten minutes before I leave you here and you find a ride with someone else".
Her fathers voice was loud making her huff as she pushed herself out of bed. The door creaked opened "I seriously can't keep being late to work kid, get it together and get ready for school"
He looked disappointed and stressed as he walked off down the hallway. The strong whiff of cigarette smoke practically smacked her nostrils when she walked into the hallway. She scrunched her nose in disgust as she walked down the steps.
"What the fuck!" her eyes widen in surprise when she heard the loudness of her father shouting. Panic slipped into her bones as she let out a heavy breath "dad!" she ran her feet aching.
He stood in front of the television his hand grasping the remote so tightly it nearly broke. Her gaze looked past him and saw the news headline Sidney Prescott...
She didn't have a chance to read the rest before the television clicked off into a black ibis. She saw her reflection staring back at her as she pushed her hands against her chest for comfort.
"Dad, what was that? Is Sidney..." she shut her mouth when he looked at her, the eyes of a broken man was facing her. He looked miserable without even acknowledging the words she spoke.
He nodded weakly, "you're staying home today, lock the doors, there's something I have to handle". His voice for once was bold and not shaky, it was so odd seeing her father focused for once in his life.
He grabbed his jacket off the coat rack before pacing towards the door with determination. "Wait dad, I can't just ditch school" she moved towards the doorway and he looked at her.
"Stay here Alice. I mean it" she looked like a small child as he hovered over her. His eyes full of such rage that she knew this wasn't anything good.
His hands twitched around the doorknob as he opened it "dad, you can't do this...Sidney". He slammed the door shut the topic of the woman rather sensitive.
Throughout Alice's childhood she'd always hear so many stories of her fathers past. She of course would often seek answers but he would always shut down and refuse to tell her. Sidney Prescott was someone she never could learn about, at least not unless it involved books and news articles.
Her father never spoke of the woman, after the indecent in 2000, he had grew such a deep hatred for the woman. Her hands laced with the blood of Roman Bridger a man who had once gifted Alice a bicycle.
She had never ridden it after she crashed it, she knew her father couldn't bare the sight of it. First her mother left him with a kid all by himself to raise.
And when he finally found someone to be with, someone to heal with. It all slipped away, but at least he still had Alice. She clenched her fists in annoyance as she burst outside angrily.
"Dad!" she moved towards the parking lot, as he threw a baseball bat into his passenger seat. "Go inside Alice, I'm not gonna tell you again" he sneered angrily as he slammed his door shut.
"No! Not until you calm down and tell me what the hell is going on" her voice cracked as he looked at her. "I don't have time for this Alice, go inside the house and lock the doors and windows".
She pushed the car door shut when he went to open it making him sigh deeply as he pinched the bridge of his nose. "I'm not gonna let you leave, you're being ridiculous and I know you're gonna do something stupid, you just started getting better, don't ruin this".
She let out a shaky breath as she looked at her father, hoping he would stop and listen for once. Her expression shifted to one of sadness and betrayal as she watched her father get into his car.
He drove off so fast that she felt the air around her shift into coldness. "Fuck" she pushed her hands into her face as she felt the tears forming in her eyes.
"Alice, you alright?" she looked up quickly wiping away the tears with her sleeve. "Oh.. Jill, yeah I'm fine just got something in my eye" she let out a weak chuckle as she looked at the girl.
Jill looked at Alice with an unreadable expression, her hands pushing themselves into her pockets. "I get the feeing you're lying to me, is it your dad?" Alice nibbled on her fingernails as she nodded.
"What's it this time? Drunk bender? Manic episode?" Alice huffed in annoyance "he's not like that anymore, he's just freaking out because Sidney Prescott is in town, which is fucking fantastic".
She rolled her eyes and Jill looked almost amused "my cousin, yeah she's doing some book tour, honestly I didn't even know she was in town, until I saw the news talking about it".
Alice sneered in annoyance "she needs to leave, my dads finally getting better and then it all goes to shit the second he sees her on the news... gosh he's gonna do something reckless and end up in jail".
Jill sighed "wanna just stay at my place till he gets back? If he even does" Alice shock her head as she grabbed her bike out of the garage. "I'm gonna go stop him before he ruins his life again, don't wait up".
Jill chuckled "you're joking right? Your dad is never gonna get better. I mean no offense but he's an asshole to everyone in woodsboro and he'll never be normal".
Alice looked at Jill with an hurt expression "don't say that, he'll get better and I'm going to make sure of it". She didn't say anything else as she moved past Jill, her grasp tight on her bike handles.

The world felt so small as his gaze looked upon the display window. His fingers wrapped around the handle of the baseball bat with such ease.
He bit down on his lip so harshly he could tasted the blood melting away on the tip of his tongue. With one swift movement, he let the baseball bat collide into the display window. Shards of glass smacked into his jacket and boots as he swung again.
"Dad! What the hell are you doing!" Alice threw her bike down onto the sidewalk as she ran towards him. Corey let out a frustrated breath when she managed to pull the baseball bat out of his hands.
"Do you wanna get arrested! Because I doubt you'll get another pass from Dewey, he'll likely keep you out of spite at this point". Her gaze slipped away from her fathers to a figure behind him.
"Dad..." her voice cracked in fear as she watched the figure run straight at them. That mask she had seen it so many times in her nightmares, so many restless nights of her afraid. The same mask her father had spent so many years trying to escape.
She screamed when the knife slammed into her fathers shoulder. The man crying out in discomfort as he swung his arm forward to protect Alice.
She gripped his arm so tightly she knew it would bruise as she dragged him along the sidewalk. He groaned as he pushed his hand against his shoulder, his eyes wide in horror as he ached to escape.
"Dad... oh shit you're losing blood" she held back her tears as she kept moving. She could feel the presence of the figure behind them, it made her feel uneasy.
Corey let out a heavy exhale as he grasped onto his daughters hand "you gotta run kid it's the only way, I'll be right behind you". Alice shock her head quickly "no, I'm not leaving you here dad! You're gonna get killed if you don't just stay with me".
He chuckled as he smirked "you think this asshole can kill me?" he licked the blood off his lips as he grabbed the baseball bat off the ground. "No sweetie, we're Beckers for fucks sake".
He swung the bat at ghostface angrily when the figure appeared in front of them "We survive".

authors notes:
damn even in this book Corey is a badass, guess that's something he'll never escape. It's a cannon event at this rate for him to always be attacked lol. I'm already loving this story and it's only chapter one. I need to go outside and touch grass, I've been writing for this all damn night and it's literally 5AM.
