a tale as old as time // ( you've heard it all before )

a long time ago, in a distant land there was a prince with a heart of stone. he hadn't always been that way, in fact once he had been a man of great joy and passion. a talented musician, fierce warrior and merciful ruler.

but his reign was torn by a witch who cursed him beneath a false twilight, turning his blooming heart hard and unfeeling. stripping him of all that made him a prince, leaving behind only his darkest parts.

a little lost prince in the body of a beast.

as years passed beneath the curse, the prince became what the witch intended, wicked and cruel. driven mad by who he had become.

that was until he felt it, a momentary lapse in time. the earth beneath his feet shook as the veil of death passed through him. one of his men across the world had fallen, in a place where magic was forbidden and his kind feared.

and he had been killed by a girl with hate in her heart.

so the prince captured her, taking his vicious maiden across the wall and to his home of eternal spring. in hopes that maybe she was the one, the girl who could break his curse and bring an end to the beast he had become.

but he was in the midst of betrayal. a tale of true love destined by the fates, cauldron born and inescapable. only a fool would intervene, or a beast so desperate he would sacrifice the hearts of the people he loved in order to break the curse laid upon himself and his land.

and so the tale goes, a beast, a fair maiden and a trail of broken hearts left in their wake.
