。・:*:・゚★,‧͙⁺˚*・༓☾ STEFAN was just consumed by the enormous flames of the hellfire. He welcomed his death with open arms. But something didn't felt right. He opened his eyes to see he was in his room in the Boarding House.
He stood in front of the mirror and noticed not a hair from his body was touched. But what shocked him more was that he was again a vampire. He felt that huge bloodlust inside him. There was a storm of thoughts in his mind.
He saw his journal on the wooden bookshelf and hastily opened it. There were no entries after 5 September 2009. He flipped the pages but they were blank. He searched for his phone and found it in the pocket of his jeans. What he next saw shook him to core, the phone displayed the date 6 September 2009.
His mind reached to one conclusion, he was really back in time. First, he thought it is just a game his mind is playing with him but after some time he realised it was the truth, his life really pressed the rewind button. If God has given him a second chance, he is going to make the most of it.
He saw the clock and knew it was the time to go school. He grabbed his towel and took a quick shower. He got dressed and left for Mystic Falls High School. He decided to have blood bags from the hospital when he comes back.
━━━━━━━━✧♛✧━━━━━━━━
He started walking towards the school premises and felt many eyes staring him, he just ignored them and went inside. He found his way to the main office and gave his documents. He cursed himself inside his mind, he should have done all this paperwork before.
As the Secretary was going through his files, he heard some voices behind his back and knew it was Bonnie and Elena.
"All I see is a back." He heard Elena say this.
"It's a hot back." Stefan smirked at Bonnie's statement. He knew they were checking out his back.
"Your records are incomplete. You are missing immunisation records, and we do insist on transcripts." Secretary told him and he had to compel her. He removed his glasses and looked into her eyes.
"Please, look again. I am sure everything you need is there." Stefan compelled her.
"Well, you are right. So it is."
"I am sensing Seattle, and he plays the guitar." Bonnie says.
He heard a light joking scoff. "You're really going to run this whole psychic thing into the ground, huh?" Elena asked her.
"Pretty much." Stefan smiled to himself.
"Jeremy, good batch, man." He heard a boy yell and knew this is why Elena was in the men's bathroom in the first place.
"I will be right back." He heard Elena tell Bonnie as she walks away.
"Please, be hot." Bonnie pleaded and Stefan smirked to himself. He then, again set his focus to the lady in front of him.
The secretary handed him his schedule. "Thank you." He was finally ready to leave.
"You are welcome." He turned around to see Bonnie. He was facing her and he smiled a little at her. She was taken aback and Stefan brushed past her walking down the hall.
He felt Caroline's eyes on him. She was checking him out and Stefan gave her a smile while she continues checking him out.
He continued walking and bumped into someone and realised it was Elena. It was their first meeting.
"Uh, pardon me." He muttered. "Um... is this the men's room?" He asked faking his suspicion and turned his expressions to concern. She looks at the men's room and then, back at him, coming up for an explanation.
"Yes. Um, I was just, Um—I was just—It's a long story...." She stutters smiling sheepishly. He smiled slightly amused knowing it was indeed a long story. Unlike the way they met last time, he just nodded at her walked past, still feeling her gaze lingering on him.
━━━━━━━━✧♛✧━━━━━━━━
He sat in the history class and was listening to Tanner the Douchebag giving History lessons.
"Once our home state of Virginia joined confederacy in 1861, it created a tremendous amount of tension within the state. People in Virginia's northwest region had different ideals than those from the traditional deep south. Then Virginia divided in 1863 with the northwest region joining the union."
He didn't need to take notes because he lived through all this.
He felt Elena staring him, he just ignored her and continued listening Tanner giving boring history lectures. He would have slept in the class, if he wasn't planning on what to do next.
━━━━━━━━✧♛✧━━━━━━━━
He was on his way to the hospital. He compelled the nurse to give him five blood bags, which were B positive his favourite. They were sufficient until Damon comes back in the town and steals some blood bag. He took the blood bags and made his way back to Boarding House.
He kept four blood bags in the freezer while ripped the left one open and poured it in a glass. He added a little amount of vervain in it, which he stole from Zach's vervain stash.
He raised the glass and started drinking it. At first, he felt his throat burn a little but it was okay after a time.
He decided to go to the Grill instead of stalking Elena in the cemetery.
━━━━━━━━✧♛✧━━━━━━━━
As he made his way inside the Grill, some people stopped what they were doing and stared him. He couldn't help but laugh a little. He found a familiar face there.
He walked over. "Hey I am Stefan." He introduced himself awkwardly, the boy was just confused and interested.
"I am Jeremy." He introduced himself.
"Hey, I saw you around the school and wanted to introduce myself-" He cut me off by a scoff.
"If you want some pills-" Jeremy said and Stefan shook his head denying the accusations.
"Oh! No, no... I am not here for pills, I wanted to introduce myself and hopefully make a new friend." Stefan tried to explain. Jeremy was a little amused and confused.
"Um... I get you are not into this whole friend thing, are you?" I asked slowly, Jeremy looked away shaking his head. He sighed to himself.
"You got any friends, Jeremy?" Stefan asked and Jeremy just looked at him conflicted as he was shrinking in his seat.
"Look, how about we two two spend a little time together, lonely?" Now, Jeremy was a little interested in this conversation.
"We get to know each other, then if it all works out in the end we could be easily be friends?" Stefan proposed the offer, His lips twitched as Jeremy smiled slightly.
"Sure." He agreed and my smile broke into a grin.
"So, I like some EDM and I can cry my eyes out listening to Taylor Swift. What about you?" Stefan asked.
"I love countryside and rock music and Imagine Dragons is my favourite band." Jeremy answered.
"I'm an avid reader, a huge Fitzgerald fan, 'The Great Gatsby', his masterpiece. But I'm no snob. I love some good Grisham. I think 'Seinfeld' is the best American television show for the past 50 years, but 'I Love Lucy' is all-time. 'The loving cup' episode was the best, I think. Huge Scorsese fan. I can watch 'Taxi Driver' over and over again." Stefan ranted about himself while Jeremy was silently listening to him.
"So, what are your plans after graduation?" Jeremy asked.
Stefan remembered how he wanted to become a doctor before he was turned into vampire. "I want to become a doctor, you know helping others and saving lives, stuff." He said.
"Cool. I did not decide what to do after graduation. Hell, I can't even imagine myself graduating." Jeremy chuckled as he said.
Stefan suddenly remembered about the party that was going to happen.
"So, Jeremy I got to know there was supposed to be a party happening tomorrow or something." Stefan blurted out.
"Yeah, there is one at the falls." He spoke calmly eating his fries.
"Hmm, you going?" Stefan asked as he took a handful fries and shoving them in his mouth.
"Yeah, I will be going." Jeremy answered smiling. They ate all of the fries and ordered two burgers.
"So, what stuff are you really into?" Stefan tried to make him open more.
"I like to draw or I like to draw before... my parents died." Jeremy answered with sadness.
"I am sorry, mate. I know what it feels like to loose your parents." He replied back.
"Um... I sorry about your mom and dad."
"Don't be, it was a long time ago." Stefan said remembering his abusive, dick father and the mother who left him and his brother and when returned chose her new family. "You got into the drugs stuff because of the loss, right?" Jeremy nodded slightly. "Don't worry, I get it, there is always a void and you try to fill it or at least try to make the feeling go away." Jeremy smiled at him.
Stefan spotted Elena walking into the Grill. He felt the pull towards her because of the stupid traveller spell. Elena looked towards them, her gaze stayed on Stefan a little bit longer. She noticed as if it was weird, Jeremy and Stefan hanging together and gave them a questioning look.
"Who is the girl staring at us?" Stefan asked Jeremy, indicating towards the direction Elena was standing.
Jeremy scoffed and answered, "It's just my sister Elena."
Stefan was a little confused, Jeremy's mood changes even faster than a pregnant lady.
"Um... I need to go I am feeling a little tired as I was stoned before you came." He explains.
"I totally understand, so, see you later." Stefan waved his hand at Jeremy who left the Grill. He was about to leave to but Caroline stopped him.
"Hi." Caroline greeted giving Stefan a huge smile. Stefan smiled back at her.
"Hey, you are Caroline right?" Stefan said confusing the blonde.
"You know my name?" She asked in confusion.
"Um... yeah, heard someone at the school." He answered. After his unexpected encounter with Caroline, he found himself at the table with Bonnie, Elena and Caroline.
"So, you were born in Mystic Falls?" Caroline asked him and he nodded.
"Mm-Hmm. And moved when I was still young." Stefan answered her and looked towards Bonnie.
It was now Bonnie's turn to ask about the mystery guy. "Parents?"
"My parents passed away." He answered. Caroline and Bonnie looked over at Elena who had a look of sadness.
"I am sorry, any siblings?" Elena asked.
"Yes, a big brother but I live with my uncle." Stefan told them, Elena was still looking at him in the hope he spare her a glance but he simply ignored her.
"So, Stefan, if you're new, then you don't know about the party tomorrow." Caroline said.
"It's a back to school thing at the falls." Bonnie explained him.
Stefan asks Caroline and Bonnie, "Are you going?" Elena was a little hurt but spoke before anybody could answer.
"Yes, I am going."
"I didn't ask you." Stefan spoke back, Elena looked down and Caroline was secretly smiling.
Bonnie decided to change the topic, "Of course, we are going."

Stefan made his way back to the Boarding House and was changing his clothes. He was about to go to bed to take a quality sleep which he didn't had because of the past few days but Zach barged inside before he could do any of this.
He had a newspaper in his hand and he showed it to Stefan who remembered about these animal attacks that happened that day, which indicated Damon is back in the town. He smiled in his mind and decided to act clueless in front of poor Zach.
"You promised." Zach said.
"This was an animal attack." Stefan played dumb.
"Don't give me that. I know the game. You tear them up enough, they always suspect an animal attack. You said you had it under control." Zach threw accusations at him.
"And I do." Stefan answered.
"Please, Uncle Stefan. Mystic Falls is a different place now. It's been quiet for years, but there are people who still remember. And you being here, it's just going to stir things up." Zach pleaded.
"It's not my intention." Stefan tried to defend himself.
"Then what is? Why did you come back? After all this time, why now?" Zach asked.
"To rectify his mistakes." Stefan thought in his mind. "I don't have to explain myself." Stefan said instead.
"I know that you can't change what you are. But you don't belong here anymore." Now Zach was really annoying him.
"Where do I belong?" He asked.
"I can't tell you what to do." Zach said. "Then, don't open your damn, mouth." Stefan thought to himself. "But coming back here was a mistake." Zach threw the newspaper on the couch and left.
Stefan sighed and laid down on his bed welcoming the darkness.

Next day, he was again in Tanner the Douchebag's class. He was just giving his usual lecture.
"The Battle of Willow Creek took place right at the end of the war in our very own Mystic Falls. How many casualties resulted in this battle? Ms. Bennett?" Tanner question Bonnie. Stefan shook his head at her cuteness.
"Um...a lot? I'm not sure. Like a whole lot." Bonnie answered.
"Cute becomes dumb in an instant, Ms. Bennett. Mr. Donovan? Would you like to take this opportunity to overcome your embedded jock stereotype?" Tanner asked. It was Matt's turn to answer.
"It's okay, Mr. Tanner, I'm cool with it." Matt told him. Everyone chuckled at this.
"Hmm. Elena? Surely you can enlighten us about one of the town's most significantly historical events?" Tanner asked Elena.
"I'm sorry, I--I don't know." Elena shook her head and answered.
"I was willing to be lenient last year for obvious reasons, Elena. But the personal excuses ended with summer break." Tanner spoke and Elena looked down, Stefan was really irritated now and scoffed.
"There were 346 causalities. Unless, you are counting the local civilians." Stefan answered making everyone look at him.
"That's correct, Mr...?"
"Salvatore." Stefan answered.
"Salvatore. Any relation to the original settlers here at Mystic Falls?" Tanner asked him.
"Distant." Stefan spoke.
"Well, very good. Except, of course, there were no civilian casualties in this battle." Tanner stated making Stefan smirk. He knew it was his time to shine.
"Actually, there were 27, sir. Confederate soldiers, they fired on the church, believing it to be housing weapons. They were wrong. It was a night of great loss. The founder's archives are, uh, stored in civil hall if you'd like to brush up on your facts, Mr. Tanner." Stefan said sitting back.
"Hmm."
━━━━━━━━✧♛✧━━━━━━━━
Stefan went to the party and made a mental to note to himself that don't bump into the doppelganger. He spot Jeremy drinking alone looking a bit miserable looking at someone with longing look, probably, Vicki, Stefan thought. He was making his way towards him when out of nowhere Caroline popped in between.
"Hey, you made it." Caroline approached him with a very big smile.
"I did." Stefan smiled back.
"Well, let's get you a drink." She walks a bit closer.
"Well, I am--" He had no plan on getting drunk. But Caroline being Caroline didn't listen.
"Oh, come on." Caroline dragged him with her.
Stefan and Caroline were fully drunk now. Stefan was laughing as Caroline went on ranting about herself and other talks of the town.
"You know, you're kind of the talk of the town." Caroline said.
"Am I?" Stefan asked with a dramatic gasp.
"Mmm hmm. Mysterious new guy, oh, yeah." Caroline said with the same tone.
"Well, I am all on changing my stereotype identity." Stefan said.
Stefan was really happy talking to her best friend, they always had this brother and sister relationship. Caroline was the only one who ever understood him completely.
"I am trusting you with a top secret you promise not to tell anyone?" Caroline asked him with seriousness.
"I pinky promise." He answered with the same seriousness.
"You know, there was a teddy bear, Bonnie was obsessed with when she was young. And then, one day, we got into a huge fight, so, in spite of revenge, I took Miss Cuddles." Caroline told Stefan, he already knew about Miss Cuddles after all he went on a search mission for her.
"Miss Cuddles?" Stefan asked.
"Bonnie's teddy bear." Caroline said and Stefan nodded. "She thought she lost it but it was me who hid her in the woods and left some M&M to find her back." Caroline said.
"And no one knows about this except us." Stefan said pointing his fingers to Caroline and him.
"No, it's a top secret." Caroline said in a very secretive voice. And Stefan nodded. They made it back to the party. Elena spotted Stefan and purposely bumped into him. Stefan was annoyed.
"Nice, bumping into you." He said with sarcasm dripping from his mouth.
"I am sorry. Hey... Have you been down to the falls yet? Because they are really cool at night. And I can show you...if you want." Elena tried to grab Stefan's attention.
"I think you've had too much to drink." Stefan said trying to get away from her.
"Well, of course I have. So—" Elena was now hitting on him.
"Elena. You and me, it's not gonna happen. And I am not sorry for that." Stefan walked past her leaving Elena who was angry and sad at the same time and Caroline who was smirking in the corner.
Caroline walked towards Stefan with drinks.
"I was wondering who abducted you, but now I know." Caroline said.
"Is she like that with, uh, all the guys?" Stefan asked, knowing the answer.
"Yes. It's just that you are handsome and she is a real bitch. She wanted to use her sympathy card to make people feel sorry for her and when she is done she will dump them and find someone new." Caroline stated the truth.
Elena dumped Matt and got along with Stefan. Then, Damon got in the picture and she stringed with both of them, until, she knew she had to choose one, so, she dumped Stefan and went for Damon. Stefan felt like an idiot for risking his life to save someone who is not worth it.
Suddenly, they noticed a lot of commotion there, Jeremy had Vicki in his arms and Elena was behind him, Stefan realised Damon had attacked Vicki.
"Oh my god, Vicki!" Caroline gasped.
Stefan was loosing control, the scent of the blood was reaching his nose all he could hear was heartbeats of people in the party. He knew he had to get out of there. His breathing became rigid. Caroline now, looked at Stefan and knew something was wrong with him. She took his hand dragged him out of the party. Stefan was a little shock by this.
"Does blood makes you squeamish?" Caroline asked. Stefan just nodded. Caroline hugged him, making Stefan shocked. He tried to calm his breathing but was unable to do so. The sound of blood pumping through Caroline's veins and her heart beating was making him go crazy.
He pulled from the hug in a haste, confusing Caroline. He tried to focus on the time he spent with Caroline and he calmed himself down. Caroline was looking at him in shock.
"What was that? Why were you acting like that?" She asked. Stefan thought it would be no harm in telling her the truth.
"Caroline, I am a vampire." She started laughing at this and then, frowned.
"This is the worst joke of the year. Now, tell me the reason, Stefan." Stefan showed her his vampire face to make her believe. Caroline was taken aback but smiled a little. She then, pulled him into a hug. It was Stefan's turn to be in shock.
"You don't think I am a monster?" Stefan asked and Caroline shook her head.
"No. I mean it is so cool. Vampires are real!" Caroline squealed. "So, wait... you were with me the whole time, then, who attacked Vicki, was it a...?" Caroline asked in realisation.
"It was not me but it was a vampire and to be specific my brother." Stefan told her.
"Is Vicki going to be a vampire?" Caroline asked.
"No, it's a very complicated process but don't worry I will tell all about that you... tomorrow." Stefan said making Caroline sad. She huffed.
"Why not now?" She asked.
"Because it is very late and the story is very long so we will talk about it tomorrow, okay?"
"Fine but you have to tell me all of it." Caroline said.
"Done." Stefan gave her a thumbs up. "I am going to go now. Good bye, Caroline."
"Good bye, Stefan." She walked away from there. Stefan also vamp sped to Boarding House.
━━━━━━━━✧♛✧━━━━━━━━
He was in his room, he was very drunk and he had to sleep. He had at least twenty litres of wine. He made a vow to himself, never have drinks with Caroline.
He was about to sleep but a crow entered in his room. He groaned in annoyance. He completely forget that this was the time for Damon's dramatic entrance. Damon stood on the balcony.
"Hello, brother." He rolled his eyes on Damon's dramatics.
"Crow's a bit much, don't you think?" Stefan asked.
"Wait till you see what I can do with the fog." Damon answered.
"When'd you get here?" Stefan questioned him.
"Well, I couldn't miss your first day at school. Your hair's different. I like it." Damon said leaning on the shelves.
"It's been 15 years, Damon." Stefan also wanted to add 'why come now and bother me' because his brother was ruining his beauty sleep.
"Thank God. I couldn't take another day of the nineties. That horrible grunge look? Did not suit you. Remember, Stefan, it's important to stay away from fads." He said walking around the room.
"Why are you here?" Stefan asked him though he knew the answer.
"I miss my little brother." Damon said making Stefan roll his eyes.
"Liar, liar pants on fire." Stefan said mocking him.
"I see you are mocking me." Damon says.
"You hate small towns. It's boring. There's nothing for you to do."
"I've managed to keep myself busy." Damon smirked.
"You know, you left that girl alive tonight. That's very clumsy of you." Stefan knew he did that to create problems for Stefan.
"Ah. That can be a problem...for you." He said leaning on the desk.
"Why are you here now?" Stefan asked.
"I could ask you the same question. However, I'm fairly certain your answer can be summed up all into one little word...Elena." Damon tells him with his evergreen smirk plastered on his face. He walked towards the shelves. "She took my breath away. Elena. She's a dead ringer for Katherine. Is it working, Stefan? Being around her, being in her world? Does it make you feel alive?"
"I don't care if she is or not Katherine." Stefan told him.
"Well, let's hope not. We both know how that ended. Tell me something, when's the last time you had something stronger than a squirrel? Yeah? Come on. Don't you crave a little?" Damon starts hitting him. "Let's do it. Together. I saw a couple girls out there. Or just, let's just cut to the chase, let's just go straight for Elena. Imagine what her blood tastes like! I can." Damon was trying to get on his brother's nerve. But it wasn't affecting Stefan.
"Kill her, hurt her, who cares?" Stefan said making his way back to the bed, shocking Damon.
"Oh, I know this whole I don't care act is a lie." Damon says. Stefan was now fully annoyed, why can't Damon just let him sleep. He ran towards Damon and threw him out of the window. And jumped off the balcony after. Damon was angry and gets up.
"I was impressed. I give it a six. Missing style, but I was pleasantly surprised. Very good with the whole face...thing. It was good." He said as he brushes the dirt off his clothes.
"I am honoured." Stefan dramatically said and Damon rolled his eyes. "I just want to sleep, can you at least let me have it." Damon noticed that his ring was not there.
"Where's your ring? Oh, yeah, sun's coming up in a couple of hours, and, poof, ashes to ashes." Stefan said mocking his brother who was now getting angrier. "Relax. It's right here." He gives Damon his ring.
Stefan grabs Damon by neck and throws him against the garage. "This is what you get when you ruin my beauty sleep." Damon was on the floor grunting. "You should know better than to think you're stronger than me. I wouldn't try it again." Stefan hears some noises. "I think we woke Zach up. Sorry, Zach." He walked away from there leaving a shocked and angry Damon behind.
