The trio walk through an open field of land where the ground and sky blended together in an odd clash of black and grey.

The small Salamander from before crawled atop a small boulder nearby, and licked its eyeball before scurrying down it and rushing to the group.

(Y/N) cupped her palms together, and vocalized the same song she heard before. "Oh, oh, uh, oh!" She yells, her voice echoing slightly through the trees.

As she had not been able to hear the voice any longer, Espen gave her the chance to try and make contact with it once more. He followed closely behind her as he watched nervously, his fingers moving across his palms in discomfort.

Anna brought her cape closer to her chest as she looked around, and gasps with wide eyes as Olaf copied what (Y/N) was doing, except his voice was off-key and made everyone in the group nearly fall over in panic.

The little critter's body burst into pink flames as Olaf passed it, before running down the rock it was on to avoid him.

Anna exhales in relief, having known that it was only the small snowman and not a raging monster wanting to attack her.

(Y/N) sings aloud once more, and giggles as Olaf copies her again, his voice high pitched and ear piercing. Espen cringes from behind her, but shakes his head as his girlfriend looks over her shoulder and smiles at him.

Anna sighs loudly before speaking. "Hey, Olaf, Um. Maybe just one of you should do it?"

To this the little snowman responds with a smile. "I agree, she's a little pitchy."

The princess chuckles softly, and grunts as she feels a strong wind push against her and sending her stumbling forward.

Olaf gasps excitedly as the wind moves around him. "Hey, Gales back!"

The spirit twirls around the young couple, and averts their direction to a long post in the air, just barely visible over the hill. (Y/N)'s eyes furrow as she stares at the flag hanging off the mast.

Quickly, she sprints up the hill, the siblings following closely behind as they near the top.

Their eyes widen as a giant ship plays into view. It was damaged for the most part, the upper deck completely broken off while the lower barely hung on.

(Y/N) takes a step back before gripping Espen's arm while Anna gripped his other. "How can it be?" The princess mumbles, and (Y/N) shakes her head.

"What is it?" Olaf asks in confusion. (Y/N) sniffs before shaking her head as she feels her throat close up.

"It's my father's ship.."

"But this isn't the Southern sea." Olaf states as he looks around, his eyes wide yet concerned.

"No, it isn't." Anna's eyes widen as her brother breaks away from her grip and rushes down the hill, before quickly following after.

Olaf watches them leave, and turns towards a panting (Y/N) with worried eyes. The women breaths in deep before shaking her head and smiling to Olaf.

"I'll be fine.." and with that, she took her first step towards the ship.

...

She enters the ship not to long after the siblings, and watches as they rummage around with annoyance and confusion all together.

"How did the ship get through the mist?" She mumbles with Olaf by her side before going to run her hand over the old wood. "I thought nobody could get through it but us?"

"Unless.." her attention snaps to Olaf as he looks around. "..nobody was on it."

(Y/N) sighs, and makes her way over to Espen as he clutched his hands tightly to his chest. Anna tries to comfort him, but turns around with wide eyes. "Look around! Every Arendelle ship has a compartment, waterproof."

"That's very clever." The snowman nods. "But that does make me wonder why they don't just make the whole ship waterproof."

Anna goes and feels around a few cupboards before ducking down and feeling underneath and beside a bench. She gasps as a piece of it presses inwards and a seal pops out.

"Here!"

Together, the trio all sit down and watch as Anna uncapped the seal and takes out a long roll of parchment. She unravels it, and stares in confusion at the strange symbols drawn into the paper.

"What..language is this?" (Y/N) mumbles, and points to the small scribble of words in the top corner.

"This is mothers handwriting." Espen rasps out, his voice gone sore as his face pulled down.

"The end of the ice age, the river found, but lost. Magic's source..Espen and (Y/N)'s source?" Anna furrows her brows at the last part, and glances to her friends.

"They knew you had powers?"

"Apparently so.." the Captain nods without breaking her gaze from the paper. Espen pulls the paper from his sister's hands and holds it between him and his girlfriend to read.

Anna goes to unfold another parchment, and gasps at its content. "It's a map!"

She lays it flat against the bench and follows the dotted line with her finger. "They traveled North..and planed to cross the dark sea to.."

She stops as a self drawn picture of a small island with hills appears at the edge of the map. A name was written next to it, in what (Y/N) recognized as her father's handwriting.

"..Ahtohallen."

"It's real?" Anna breaths out. Olaf stares at them with a pout. "Octa-who-what?"

"Ahtohallen..it's a magical river said to hold all the answers about the past.."

"Reinforcing my "water has memory" theory, hm." Olaf shakes his head smugly, and dosent notice as Espen looks down at his palms.

"Water has memory.." (Y/N) raises a brow as she watches her boyfriend walk to the center of the wreckage, and places his hands against the damp wooden floor.

"..Espen?"

"I want to know what happened to them."

The King shuts his eyes, refusing to meet his lovers gaze as water droplets from all over the ship begin to float up from the cracks and pull towards the front.

It was beautiful, as each droplet was carefully guided and caught the sun's gaze just right.

Espen finally opens his eyes as his mothers voice echoed far in the distance, but was easy to hear. Anna goes to crouch beside her brother and holds his shoulders as they watch a frost sculpture of their parents form right infront of their eyes.

...

What they didn't see, however, was a few of the droplets escaped and floated towards (Y/N). The women watches as a separate sculpture begins to form, this time of her father.

...

"Ahtohallen has to be the source of their magic!" Iduana's voice yells out in desperation as she speaks to her husband.

"We keep going..for Espen." Agnaar's voice cuts in. The siblings hold onto eachother tightly as their eyes began to blur while they listened.

...

"Sir, why exactly are we sailing to an island that you're not even sure exists?" (Y/N) listens as a separate voice from a crew mate calls out to her father.

The image collects together, and she watches as her fathers face pulled in pain as he seemed to be pushed back by something that held him against the side of the ship.

She hears her father chuckle. "My daughter is very special to me, and if sailing to some uncharted island will help her understand the power that she posses, well I'd go through hell and back to make sure that happened!"

The Capetian slowly sinks to the floor as she listens. Her breath becomes heavy before bringing her hands up and clutching her chest.

...

"The waves are to high!"

Espen and Anna watch with wide eyes as the water finally stops moving, and the image of their parents embracing while a wave crashed over them displayed before their eyes.

"Iduana!" The king yelled, the image of himself embracing his wife showing that he tries to protect her as much as he could.

"Agnaar!" The late Queen yells out as her image hugged her husband back just as tight, her face buried in his chest.

...

"Abandon ship!" (Y/N) hears her father yell as the droplets of water finally come to a stop, and the image that laid before her made her stomach turn.

"I have no regrets..my darling daughter." Was the last sentence that was spoken, as the Captain stared at her father being shoved against the wall of the ship by a canon, trapping him underneath it and giving him no way of moving around.

He clutched both of his hands tightly together, and stared at his wedding ring with a painful smile. (Y/N) releases a sob at the image of her father, and sunk lower to the floor so her forehead touched the wood.

...

The sob catches the attention of the siblings, and Espen breaks away from his sister to rush to his girlfriends side. "(Y/N)-?!" He's cut off as he stares at her form, heaving with sobs.

He takes a step back with wide eyes as he looks at the image of the former Captain. (Y/N) weakly brings her head up, tears streaming down and staining her face.

She locks eyes with Espen, and he shakes his head harshly before dashing out of the ship and up the hill. "Espen!" Both Anna and (Y/N) chase after him, their cheeks stained with tears.

...

They follow him back up the hill and watch as he collapses onto a boulder nearby, his face red and eyes overflowing as his shoulder moves up and down harshly with every breath.

"Hey, hey, what are you doing?" (Y/N) questions as she sniffs and gently places her hands on his shoulders. Her chest stings a little as she feels him flinch at her touch.

"H-how are you not mad at me?" He shudders out before looking over his shoulder and locking eyes with her. "This is all my fault! Your dad-!"

"My father was proud to know that you would be our future king, Espen.." she mumbles.

Espen shakes his head harshly. "They were looking for answers about me.." to this (Y/N) scoffs and grips his shoulders to keep him steady. "Well, no, they were looking for answers for both of us."

Anna sighs and grabs her brothers hand. "You are not responsible for their choices, Espen, neither of you are." His sister directs the last part to (Y/N), and receives a grateful nod in return.

"No." Espen agrees, and rips himself away from them and walks away. "Just their deaths!"

(Y/N) snaps her attention to him and watches as Anna grabs her brother by the arms and speaks calmly. "Stop, no! Yelena asked, why would the spirits reward Arendlee with a magical King?"

Anna straightens her posture and tries to meet her brothers eyes. "Because, our mother, and (Y/N)'s father, saved our father. They saved their enemy!"

(Y/N) nods and cups her boyfriends cheek, and meets his gaze from beside Anna. "Your mother's good deed was rewarded, with you. You are a gift Espen.." she emphasizes the word, and watches as he continues to frown.

"For what?"

Anna sighs. "If anyone can resolve the past..if anyone can save Arendelle and free this forest, it's both of you!" She gently grabs (Y/N)'s arm and pushes her to Espen's side.

The King flinches away at his girlfriend, scared that she might despise him, hate him for what happened to her father. But no, instead, she grabbed his hand, and brought it to her chest before squeezing it reassuringly.

"We believe in you, Espen." Anna speaks up. "More than anyone or anything."

The King watches his sister with admiration, before nodding to her and going to the edge of the hill. He looks out at the distance, and looks down, (Y/N) at his side.

"Honeymaren said there was a fifth and sixth spirit." He says, and Anna's eyes widen slightly. "A bridge between the magic of nature and us." (Y/N) finishes as she turns around and speaks.

"Two more spirits?"

"That's whose been calling us, from Ahtohallen." Espen says, bringing his arms out ti emphasize his point, and releasing (Y/N)'s hands. "The answers about the past are all there."

Anna smiles, and nods with a firm stare. "So we go to Ahtohallen."

Espen and (Y/N) glance to eachother, before breathing in deep and shaking their heads. "Not we." Espen says, and gestures between him and the Captain. "Us."

Anna frowns. "What?"

"The dark sea is too dangerous for all of us"

"No, no. We do this together." The princess emphasizes, growing more frustrated with the two.

"Remember the song? 'Go to far or you'll be drowned!' Who will stop you from going to far?!"

Espen shakes his head harshly at his sister. "You said you believed in us, that this was what we were born to do."

Anna stutters out a response, a bit agitated by her brother. "A-and I don't want to stop you from that! I..don't want to stop you from being whatever you need to be."

(Y/N) takes a step back as she sees Anna become more personal towards her brother, and removes herself from the conversation.

"I just..don't want you dying!" Olaf stood behind the boulder, and his eyes widened at this.

"..trying to be everything for everyone else, too! Don't do this alone, let me help you..please."

Espen watches with wide eyes as his sister rants, and his chest feels tight at what he was about to do. "I don't want to loose you, Espen..or (Y/N).." they both glance at the women, and she avoids their stares.

The King sighs, before grabbing his lovers hand and bringing both her and Anna into a tight hug. (Y/N) locks eyes with Espen over Anna's shoulder, and sighs. "We can't loose you either, Anna.." she mumbles, and squeezes the girl tight.

She looks down, and beckons Olaf into the hug. "Come on.." eagerly, the snowman wraps his twigs around Anna's and Espen's legs, and they stay like that for a few more seconds.

They all break away, but Anna gasps as she watches both Espen and (Y/N) use their magic beneath her feet. "Wait, what? What are you doing?"

She yelps as she's knocked of her feet, and stumbles into a boat made of ice. (Y/N) uses her magic to form a long, orange slope that continues to stretch onwards as the boat tipped over, carrying both Anna and Olaf far away from them.

"Espen?? (Y/N)!!" Anna yells out frantically as she reaches for them, but yells as her and Olaf disappear behind the woods.

Espen clutched his sides tightly as he watches them leave, and sighs. (Y/N) goes to stand infront of him, and cups his face in both her hands. She brings his face down, and rests their foreheads together.

The King breaths in deep, before reaching around and hugging her tight to his chest. His arm comes up to cup the back of her head while the other rests against her back.

"She'll be okay.." (Y/N) whispers into his chest, trying to give not just him, but herself the comfort of knowing that Anna was safe now. They wouldn't need to worry about her getting into more danger. Just as long as she was nowhere near them.
