Stunned, I sat, frozen to the seat.

Jasper clambers out the car, slamming the door behind him. Instantly, the darkness of the freshly settled night swallows him whole, leaving me alone, only illuminated by the car light above my head.

The weight on the car roof is obvious, by the slight intents made on both the right and left side. Something big is above me, and I don't even want to consider what it might be.

Trying my best to catch a glimpse of where Jasper had gone, I try smother the spike of fear that bubbles in my stomach. Instead of being brave, I lean over and lock every car door, promising I would only let Jasper in.

A few moments passed us by. Each one was spent with my hands on my lap, fiddling with the empty chip back.

Whatever was on the roof is now gone. I can tell because the car doesn't shake and creak like it had done before. Had Jasper taken care of it?

Suddenly something hit the window right by my face. I wasn't looking at it, because I was too busy seeing if crumbs had been left over in the packet. But when I did jump, glancing to see what had threatened the structural integrity of the window, I see nothing but grass, dirt and...Blood?

I unbuckle my seat belt in case I need to make a getaway quickly, leaning away from the window. Please don't be Jasper's blood...

At one point of excruciating waiting, I even considered calling the police, although I thought against it. The last time I trusted the police, they nearly had me killed. Anyways, I doubt Jasper would want anyone interfering.

Alpha's can look after themselves...Right?

All of a sudden, the sound of the someone knocking on the window nearly made my heart stop entirely. It was Jasper, waving at me through the fogging glass. With a hand over my heart, I unlock the door for him to get in.

"Sorry about that," he mutters, closing the door after him.

I stare at him, and he looks as normal as ever, as if he hadn't just walked into the night around an hour ago. Maybe his hair is a little more ruffled, and his cheeks are tinted from the cool of the night, but other than that, it is still Alpha Jasper.

Until he cringes.

"What's wrong?" I ask, noticing the way his posture suddenly changed, as he favoured his side a little.

Watching as he lifts his shirt, a gasp escapes my lips. One large red, bleeding, raw cut edges his ribs, staining his skin, dripping down the frame of his torso. His flesh has been completely ripped into, exposed to the naked eye.

Blood has never really bothered me. Plenty of worse things then something that aids our survival. But seeing the red stuff trickling from a gaping wound was not pretty.

"What happened?" I splutter, dragging  my eyes up to Jasper's. His face is pale, his expression one of a grimace. He is in serious pain right now, and I can tell he doesn't want to admit that to me. However, I can hear his short breathes and faint groans of pain.

"It was a Phantom. One of those rogues from the gas station," he tells me, biting his lip hard as if to take away from the pain.

Swallowing the terror that has risen within me, I go to reach out to touch him...To do something. But instantly he shakes his head in protest, flinching away from my insistent fingertips as if they will inflict more pain than he is already in.

I draw my fingers back. "We need to get you help."

Almost instantly, Jasper shakes his head in disagreement to my words. He pulls his shirt down again, and starts the car.

"Jasper, seriously. You're going to bleed out, and no amount of Alpha healing capabilities are going to even touch that wound," I snap. "And unless you're about to tell me you have the magical ability to heal all wounds, then we are driving straight to a hospital."

The health of my savour matters. Whether it is because he has saved my butt many times, or because he truly has taken good care of me, I've started to care for him a little...Luckily he has promised not to read my mind, because otherwise I would be more than embarrassed right now.

Jasper stared at me for a moment, jaw clenched, violet eyes blazing, before he stepped on the gas, and we lurched onto the road again. "Fine, but any sign we are being followed, we are leaving."

It was obvious Jasper was aware of where we had to be by the way he drove pointedly in one direction, taking roads in the dark I wouldn't have even considered.

Something tells me he takes this route often, heightening to my curiosity about where he is taking me.

A small hospital lit up a deserted parking lot, which didn't surprise me since the time must be late. One very large, red flashing sign seemed to alert anyone who dared take this road that this slightly paint faded building is in actual fact a hospital.

"I don't think this place is very safe," I say softly, looking at how the O in Hospital was flickering.

Jasper grins at me, raising an eyebrow. For someone in immense pain, his mood is rather pleasant. Or maybe teasing me gives him a type of rush that could mask any pain. "It was your idea to come here."

Rolling my eyes, I step out of the car, rounding it to help Jasper out, but he refuses any kind of aid, making it a point of getting out himself, while attempting to not show any kind of pain on his face.

"Where are we?" I ask, as we walk across the parking lot and toward the hospital entrance.

Jasper clutches his side. "Somewhere between the Love Pack, and the Loyalty Pack. The Desire Pack is more to the west. We are heading that way after a nurse patches me up."

Only a few people were on shift when we walked in. The lady at the main desk looked stunned for a moment when Jasper burst through the door, and I began blurting out an excuse as to why Jasper had been hurt.

"Oh, ah...Yes, if you take a seat, I will get the nurse," she says, quickly grabbing a clipboard and trotting off down the hallway, fixing her bun as she went.

Again, Jasper wouldn't let me help him to the waiting area, where he instantly took two seats up as he lounged his legs out across the plush blue cushions. To make myself useful, I filled up a plastic cup of cooler water, and made Jasper take a sip.

"You're really bleeding," I note anxiously, biting my nails as I paced.

Jasper glances at his shirt, stained with darkening blood, with a chuckle. "Something like that."

The lady, dressed officially for this time of night brought a male nurse with her, who was dressed in blue scrubs. He wheeled a wheel chair along with him, which I saw Jasper grimace at. He really doesn't like being assisted at all.

The nurse, who was a very kind man who accepted that Jasper had fallen, and somehow managed this deep cut, stitched him up. I sat in the corner of the room, wincing every time Jasper did, almost feeling his pain for him.

"You're going to want to rest for awhile," the nurse said, after he was finally finished.

Jasper nodded, but I knew that was never going to happen. In a heartbeat, I knew the Alpha would start fighting another Phantom rogue if it came down to it.

"Finally," Jasper muttered, once we had left the hospital. Someone is irritable about being cared for...

"Will you tell me how many Phantom rogues there may possibly be?" I ask, as we walk toward the car.

Right now, I want nothing more than to sleep. Jasper, who explained his lack of need for sleep, seemed full of energy now that he had been stitched, and the healing process could begin. But other than that, I want him to explain to me where possible danger may lurk.

"I'm not sure. Many Phantoms lurk everywhere, some as bad as Luca and his father," Jasper tells me, as we walk across the car park, seeing only by the street lamps that show us the way.

"And everyone else," I murmur under my voice, making Jasper look straight at me.

We haven't talked much about what had happened that day. Of what could have happened...He wouldn't even tell me about the belief they have about sacrificing the innocent. I've been left in the dark, and I am slightly glad of that.

"I promise you, I am taking you to a very safe location, where you will be looked after," Jasper says, as he unlocks the car door.

A smile almost graces my lips at his words. That Alpha of Devotion has a way with words, making me feel comfortable in any situation, including ones that include a crazy boyfriend coming after me. His words make it seem as if nothing bad is ever going to happen.

"Will you be staying there as well?" I ask him, as I clamber back into the car. It smells like candy and stale chips in here.

Jasper smiles, even through the pain of sitting down in the car. "Would you miss me too much if I left?"

Something is weird about our relationship. We rely on each other, and sometimes I think we flirt. Yet not once have we touched skin on skin before. Would that make whatever is going on between us weird?

"No, I was just wondering," I say, wishing I could nudge him jokingly, but I am too scared I might accidentally hurt him.

Jasper offered to skip time, which I refused. He believed the risk of Luca tracking it at this time is low, but fatigue has caught up with me, and now all I want to do is sleep for a few hours, which Jasper said was fine.

The next thing I knew, Jasper was shaking me awake gently, calling my name into my ear to stir me from me peaceful slumber.

Blinking warily, I sit up, looking out the window. We are still in the car, and I am stuck staring at what we had made it to. My mouth opens automatically in complete shock.

"Welcome home," Jasper murmurs.

So, I've been dealing with this spammer lately.

She post this weird comment, that makes no sense, but yet, she writes these weird Harry Potter fan fiction books...

Wattpads report system is botched, so I've banded together with a bunch of other popular authors, and we all reported and muted her. They are one of those people who think they are hurting you, she said she wouldn't care if I died, but we all kind of find it a little entertaining.

Oh well, if you're reading this, good luck in your writing career. Unfortunately trying to bring people who are doing well down, doesn't bring you up....
