Chapter Thirty Five

Word Count: 1652

~Brielle

I'm nervous to see more of the Alpha's again.

Kaden was the first to arrive, walking through the door with that air of confidence you can't find in any other man. Last time I saw all the Alpha's they thought I was a foolish oblivious girl who they warned to stay away from Ren. Now, I'm here completely involved in the mess that is both of my mates. That is, if either one is my mate.

"How are things?" Kaden says, walking in through the main entrance into the foyer. He opens his arms, embracing Ren for a few moments. I can see the relief all over Ren's face now that someone is here to keep things in line.

"Good since you all agreed to come here. I'm hoping things will be easier now," Ren mutters, glancing down at me. I nod slowly.

I don't tell him I'm not excited to be in a house with five Alpha's.

Once Malik arrived, Ren excused himself to go see if the cook would be able to make lunch for all of us. I stood in the foyer, watching the Alpha's curiously. Thankfully, they seemed to keep themselves entertained. It's quite interesting to watch, considering how these respected Alpha's can act quite childishly.

"Is it me or is it hot here?" Malik questions, tearing his jacket off his shoulders. A charcoal coloured jacket still remains on Kaden's shoulders, as he seemed unaffected by the weather. I myself don't feel the heat either.

"Not all of us are from a perpetually snowed in Pack," Kaden mutters, leaning up against the wall. "You of all people who assume it would be a good idea to wear your cold clothes outside of your Pack. Some of us live in civilisation."

"That's an interesting notion coming from you."

Kaden didn't get a chance to bite back, as someone else waltzes through the door. Dressed in all black, Alpha Noah walks in, dark hair shaded around his forehead. His eyes almost seem to pierce right through my soul, just like the last time I saw him. They are almost like pure emerald gems encapsulated within his irises.

"Kaden, Malik, Brielle," he greets, striding in, hands shoved in his pockets. Everyone turns to look at him. I'm glad Ren had Noah invited. He comes across the most mature out of the group, despite being the youngest.

Malik drapes his arm over my shoulder, almost making me flinch, but I stop myself. He's mated, not coming onto me, just over confident.

"How are you, brother?" Malik questions.

"Everything is good," Noah replies. When he looks at me, I glance away. He's probably wondering why I'm still here, after warning me to leave as soon as I could, and to not pry into Ren's life. I make a mental note to avoid him best I can while he is here. I'm sure he won't notice me too much.

Ren returns, greeting the new guest. Only moments later, Asher arrives, moving in silently and almost goes unnoticed. He doesn't banter like Kaden and Malik do, as Ren leads us all into the dining area where lunch will be served.

I sit right beside Ren, sliding my chair close to his body. Opposite me, much to my luck, Noah sits down. His captures me with his gaze for a moment, pinning me down.

The green reminds me of Ren's eye.

"So, I would like to thank you all for coming here to help me. Everything with Chase is getting worse, and I'm going to concentrate my efforts in trying to get rid of him. Alongside my mate, Brielle," Ren announces. I flinch. I wasn't ready to reveal I'm not anything else to him other than an assistant.

All the Alpha's gaze shoots to me as my cheeks suddenly become a blushing red. A smile stretches across Malik's face, making his icy blue eyes glint with mischief. "Oh, everything makes sense now I suppose."

"Good one on spotting that Mr. Alpha of Love," Asher jokes, looking at Malik for a reaction. I'm also surprised Malik didn't realise there was anything going on.

Malik rolls his eyes. "And weren't you supposed to spot any sexual desire."

"Well, that's been quite hard," Asher comments, which doesn't assist me in my flushed embarrassment. Ren shifts uncomfortably beside me. Malik seems to notice, the smile on his face amused. Asher only continues speaking. "I sense a lot of desire from Brielle, but maybe not Ren."

I freeze, my throat going dry. As much as I've tried not to think about it, it's somewhat true. Even though Ren is beyond handsome, I can tell Chase excites me more, as much as I don't want to admit it. Something about him stirs something deep within me.

"Okay, enough of that," Ren mutters, shutting down the other Alpha's banter quickly. They settle down, seeing in Ren's eyes that they shouldn't continue.

I'm not sure why he is so sensitive about this.

"Now, let's get to the important subject at hand. Chase. I need to get rid of him. I was wondering if any of you have any idea," Ren asks. Everyone exchanges glances, none of them experienced in having a demon within there head, or how to get rid of one. Especially one as tactful as Chase.

"Make him want to leave," Kaden mutters. I glance at him, and how calm and collected he is. He hasn't met Chase yet. Chase won't want to leave, considering he enjoys bringing chaos and pain to all he can.

Ren sighs through his nose, considering that in his mind. "And how would be go about doing that? I don't even know why he wants to be here in the first place."

"Well if he doesn't like the body he's in, why would he stay?"

I'm not the only one at the table who doesn't know what he means by that. Even Ren looks partially confused, and almost offended. Chase has clearly made himself comfortable in Ren's body, to the point I couldn't imagine him anywhere else. He controls every inch of Ren now, without him even knowing.

"Well we torture him out," Kaden offers, raising an eyebrow at everyone, looking for those who agree. Everyone screws there face up, knowing what he means. He means beat Ren till the ground until Chase leaves his body.

"Okay, I have to live in this body too, so let's forget that one," Ren says dismissively. "Anyone else have any ideas?"

No one had any ideas.

We decide to leave it for the day, in hopes someone will come up an idea in their spare time. I decided to leave Ren to his own for awhile, wanting to ensure everything downstairs is running perfectly well since the Alpha's are here. It's also an excuse not to face Ren after what Asher and Malik had to say about us.

Clambering down the stairs, I spot someone standing at the end. It's Noah. I got to turn on my heels, however, he catches sight of me. It's too late to walk away, so I let him approach me, unsure of what he wants.

"So you're mates, huh?" Noah says, standing in front of me. I shrug my shoulders, not wanting to explain the whole situation about Chase and Ren.

"I guess so."

"You don't seem so happy about that," Noah notices, to which I only shrug again. I wish I didn't have to talk about this. For some reason, the idea of having two mates stirs some irritation within me. I know Noah can relate, considering I've heard rumours from Ren that he might also have a mate who has another mate also.

Still, I don't want anyone to know about what could be going on between Chase and I. Right now, I'm not even fully sure what all of this means. "I just want Chase gone, is all. I hope you can all help us with that."

"Is that really want you want?" Noah questions. For a moment I freeze. There's something about the way he looks at me that makes me want to explode with all my issues.

"I don't know what I want."

"Well I was talking to Malik and Asher after our lunch, and they say they don't feel as though Ren feels anything toward you. However, they might think Chase does. How does that make you feel?" Noah asks, tilting his head. I know he is only trying to help, but the way he is prying is making me angry. Unnaturally angry.

Pushing past him, I move down the stairs, however, he follows me. "Are you mates with Chase? I know I'm probably the last person you trust, but clearly things between you and Ren aren't normal. Maybe you should try not to force things...

Digging my feet in, I whirl around to face him, beyond fuming. "Look Noah, you should try not getting into everyone's business."

"Brielle, I'm just trying to help-"

Turning around, I push him in the chest, all the anger that has built up within travelling through my arms and into my hands. Noah falls back into the wall, however, I close my eyes before I see the impact. When I reopen my eyes, the usually calm, peaceful Alpha is gaping at me in disbelief.

Looking behind him, I see an indent in the wall so deep, cracks in the wallpaper show. When Noah steps back, I see I almost pushed him right into the foundation.

"If I weren't an Alpha, that would have hurt a lot," Noah comments, looking back at me. "Because that's not normal."
