Several days had passed and as the padawans grew with their connection with the force and built their lightsabers, Amphitrite grew with her abilities as an elemental. As their trainings grew more divided, so did Amphitrite's relations with the other padawans. Except for Leo and Hazel that is, and of course, occasionally Ben. But even Ben had slowly become distant over time. He hadn't spoken to her much but their eyes did meet whenever they were around each other. It was almost as if they were speaking without words. Another thing Amphitrite had noticed was the subtle tension that began to rise between Ben and Leo. If Leo noticed Ben and Amphitrite acknowledging each other at all he would glare at Ben, send him a condescending look until the Solo would eventually roll his eyes and look away. It was almost as if Leo was being protective over her. Like he could sense something in Ben that just wasn't right. He never did anything more about it, Just giving him looks that shouted 'leave her alone'. Amphitrite didn't quite understand it but it wasn't a problem so she didn't see any reason as to why she should bring it up to him.
It was a sunny afternoon and Amphitrite was practicing on her breathing, or well she had just finished. She was walking to her favorite spot by the pond under the tree to practice some of her new skills she had learned. According to Hazel and Leo, the padawans were finishing up their lightsabers today. Amphitrite was happy for them. She assumed it had to be a great honor to build a lightsaber. A great honor she would never know. "Amphitrite." A voice called from behind her and she turned to see the dark eyes of the young Ben Solo looking at her. Something in his eyes sparkled with wonder. It was beautiful to her, she had never seen his eyes sparkle before. "Ben." She said with a smile. The two hadn't spoken in a while and part of her did miss his mysterious and edgy demeanor. "I finished my lightsaber this morning." He said with a proud look on his face. "Want to see it?" He asked and Amphitrite nodded. She was fascinated by the whole concept of the lightsabers and she had never seen one before. Ben pulled a thick silver cylinder from his jedi robes and let Amphitrite look at it before he ignited the saber. A blue light shot from the hilt and cast an almost stoic glow onto Ben's face. "Now watch this." He said as he began to swing the saber around, obviously showing off. "Be careful," Amphitrite warned as she watched. "You just got your lightsaber. You don't want to end up hurting yourself." She added but Ben didn't listen. He swung the blue blade around without a care in the would, loving the feeling of power that flowed through him as he swung the saber. He was lost in the awe and wonder of it. He was so lost in it that he didn't see how dangerously close he was getting to Amphitrite with it. She tried backing away but Ben was too fast. In one swift, yet accidental motion he swung the blade at her face. Amphitrite screamed as she put her hands up to protect herself and closed her eyes, not wanting to see what was about to happen. When Ben finally realised what was happening he disabled the saber but it was too late. Amphitrite's hands were badly burned from the heat of the blade. "Amphitrite-" Ben began but she didn't say anything as she ran off.
