A week had pasted so it now is summer vacation.

Gale yawned and stretched out in the cool moonlight. She unfurled her wings carefully. No one was there to see her. She was completely alone.

"Alone" she whispered to the summer night air.

She stood. A light breeze chilled her. She stepped off her balcony. All houses were dark.

She flapped her light silvery gray wings. Where to go tonight?

Fireflies twinkled as she soared above them. "I'm such an insomniac"

She began to sing.
I'd like to make myself believe that planet earth turns slowly.

The gentle singing lulled the restless sleepers into deep slumber.

Her watch lit up. Midnight.

One last thing before she returned home. She dived heading straight towards the lake.

Faster and faster she went. Almost there she thought. Finally the lake was so near she spread out her wings and hovered inches of its surface. She dipped her hand into the lake and began to fly parallel to the surface allowing her fingertips to skim the surface.

Finally she swooped upwards and tried to grasp the stars in her palm. Now exhausted she started the short flight back home. Carefully she touched down and entered the house and quickly drew the curtains behind her.

An odd feeling prickled over her skin. Was she seen? Maybe but she couldn't wrap her finger around it somehow.

She laid down on the couch and dozed off.
