Chapter Two
Finch soared lazily over the sea. She knew she should've circled back by now and went home, as it was starting to get dark, but she was bored and wanted to see I she could find a smaller island to rest on instead. After all, she was noticeably far from Parna, and floating on the sea to rest could be dangerous with the MantaWings and AxolotlWings in the ocean.
I can take one of those cowards! She thought. She nodded; right! She had a full set of armor and battletalons on her! She could probably take on at least ten AxolotlWings, maybe five MantaWings at once.
Finch narrowed her eyes. Was that a peak of land nearby? She mentally set where she had been going; east from Parna. She caught the wind and drifted closer. As the proximity between her and the island shortened, she realized...
That wasn't just an island...it was big enough to be an entire continent!
Finch landed on the soft, springy grass. It was a strange yellow color, and she crouched. Her light coloration could easily give her away, she needed to be careful. She prowled the coast as the sun went down, and when the light finally faded and her night vision kicked in, Finch took off, seeing it safer to fly at night.
She scanned the landscape, seeing a lot of forest and a few strange structures nearby. She folded in her wings and dove, banking and gliding over the surface until she noticed a cave she could rest in. She landed and examined it. The cave was fairly small and was empty, so Finch tucked herself in a corner and waited.
An hour or two passed and nobody came, so she assumed it was safe and tucked herself in, falling asleep.
