If the authors pitch does not sound like the right fit tell them. That way you are not wasting you and the author's time and the author is not at risk for bad help. Replies in the comments will be deleted if they are not the beta reader replying to their own comment about their status. Status meaning they are currently busy or are no longer a beta reader.
