Chapter 17

The problem with the scoreboard competition?

It changed Dohoon.

Not immediately.

At first, Dohoon still reacted the same way—panicking every time Shinyu said something bold, hiding his face whenever the others screamed, threatening to destroy the whiteboard at least twice a day.

But then...

Something shifted.

And unfortunately for everyone in Dorm 304—

Dohoon learned how powerful he was.

It started during rehearsal.

The members were practicing choreography while staff adjusted cameras nearby. Music echoed through the room, everyone sweaty and tired already.

Youngjae was lying dramatically on the floor.
Kyungmin was pretending not to die.
Jihoon was filming behind-the-scenes clips again.
Hanjin was peacefully drinking iced tea like he wasn't surrounded by chaos.

Meanwhile, Shinyu stood near the mirrors fixing his mic pack.

Dohoon looked over.

Paused.

Then slowly smiled.

Dangerous.

Kyungmin noticed first.

"...oh no."

"What?" Youngjae asked weakly.

"That's the face of a man planning violence."

Before anyone could react, Dohoon casually walked across the room.

Straight toward Shinyu.

The room slowly quieted.

Even staff sensed something happening.

Shinyu glanced up calmly. "What is it?"

Dohoon stopped in front of him.

Close enough to make Youngjae sit up immediately.

Then—

Without warning—

Dohoon reached forward and fixed Shinyu's collar gently.

The room EXPLODED.

Jihoon dropped the camera angle instantly.

Kyungmin grabbed Youngjae's arm so hard he almost screamed.

"H-HOLD ON—"

Dohoon acted completely normal.

"This was folded weird," he said casually.

Shinyu froze for exactly half a second.

And that was the terrifying part.

Because Shinyu never froze.

Youngjae pointed dramatically. "HE HIT THE FINAL BOSS."

Hanjin nodded solemnly. "Character growth."

Dohoon stepped back slightly, pretending innocence.

"What?"

Kyungmin ran to the scoreboard immediately.

"+7. Psychological warfare."

Shinyu stared at Dohoon for another second.

Then slowly smiled.

"...you're getting confident."

Dohoon shrugged.

"You started it."

Oh.

Oh this was bad.

The real disaster happened later that night.

The group was eating dinner in the dorm while Jihoon read comments from fans out loud.

"'Why does Dohoon look calmer lately?'"

Youngjae answered instantly.

"Because he discovered his power."

"'Shinyu looks nervous recently.'"

Kyungmin slammed the table.

"EXACTLY."

Shinyu sighed. "You're all overreacting."

At that exact moment, Dohoon stood up to grab water from the kitchen.

Normal.

Completely normal.

Until he walked back.

Because instead of returning to his own seat—

he stopped beside Shinyu.

Then casually rested his arm over the back of Shinyu's chair.

Silence.

Utter silence.

Youngjae's jaw dropped.

Jihoon slowly lowered his phone.

Kyungmin whispered, "No way."

Even Hanjin blinked twice.

Dohoon looked completely relaxed.

"You were saying?" he asked softly.

Shinyu looked up at him.

For the first time in weeks—

he genuinely looked caught off guard.

And Dohoon noticed.

That tiny reaction?

Addicting.

A slow smile appeared on his face.

Dangerous.

Very dangerous.

Kyungmin grabbed the scoreboard marker with shaking hands.

"+15," he whispered.

Youngjae stared at Dohoon like he'd become a completely different person.

"You were supposed to be the NORMAL one."

Dohoon laughed finally, leaning down slightly closer to Shinyu.

"Maybe I learned from him."

The room lost their minds instantly.

Youngjae screamed into the couch.
Jihoon fell sideways laughing.
Kyungmin was writing points so aggressively the marker almost died.
Hanjin looked emotional for some reason.

Meanwhile—

Shinyu just looked up at Dohoon quietly.

Then reached up—

and grabbed the sleeve of Dohoon's hoodie lightly before he could walk away.

"Don't run now," Shinyu said softly.

Dohoon froze.

The room went dead silent again.

Because suddenly?

The game didn't feel one-sided anymore.

And everyone realized the same terrifying truth at once:

Dohoon fighting back...

might actually be worse than Shinyu starting it.
