Chapter 4
"Day 1:
Hello, I am Yumeiho. This is my journey of researching human inventions that have yet to be discovered, presented through video recordings.
The inventions I’m focusing on:
Mind-reading device
Teleportation machine
Soul summoning machine
Day 32:
After a lot of deliberation and research, I’ve made an unprecedented decision in human history: to invent Salvation and the Tarot deck called The Dark Heart, abbreviated T.D.H. It might sound a bit funny, but you wouldn’t believe what I’ve discovered!
Day 34:
After a few days of searching for ancient materials, I’ve found several pieces of evidence supporting the existence of Salvation, and even more so, T.D.H. I found a book in an old local library titled The Founder of Saver. This book revolves around how Salvation works and its dangers. Essentially, Salvation spreads through artifacts due to a condition called Salvanism. I’m not entirely sure whether this is the truth, but I’ll try to recreate Salvation. As for T.D.H., I still don’t have much concrete evidence, just some reasoning and hypotheses.
Day 112:
You wouldn’t believe it. I’m starting to understand how T.D.H. works, but the only thing missing is the Tarot deck. So, I’m planning to create this deck once and for all. According to ancient civilization information, T.D.H. isn’t clearly mentioned, but after piecing together various fragments, I’ve uncovered some crucial information that needs verification in order to become the legend of mankind.
Day 256:
Do you see what I’m holding in my hands? Yes, that’s the Tarot deck I recreated, but it seems like I’ve failed. Don’t jump to conclusions just yet. During one of my material and structure tests, the sharp corners of the cards cut my hand! Blood flowed through the cards, and something miraculous happened. I’ve successfully created The Dark Heart, though I can’t reveal the details just yet.
Day 356:
It’s been a year since this journey began. I’ve realized that recreating Salvation is nearly impossible. However, I’ve made some significant conclusions!
Day 478:
In an unexpected turn of events, I’m pregnant now. Looks like this journey might be delayed even further.
Day 780:
Look, everyone. This cute little child is Haenul! Isn’t he adorable? Now that he’s a bit older, the research will begin.
Day 843:
This little guy has been sticking to me all the time, so I can’t focus on my research.
Day 900:
I’ve succeeded in studying an artifact of Salvation and Haenul rushes in “HEY! CAN’T YOU SEE I’M FILMING?”
Day 968:
I’m not sure how to proceed with the experiment since it’s completely uncharted territory. This step seems difficult.
Day 1000:
Making it this far has been a huge effort in searching. It may seem too early to stop here, especially since I haven’t completed Salvation, but I have a new husband now. Someone who truly loves me. Thank you all for accompanying me on this journey.
“Mom, please don’t leave me! YOU UGLY KID, GET OUT OF HERE. I DON’T NEED YOU, GO LOOK FOR YOUR FATHER AND COMPLAIN TO HIM! MOVE OUT OF THE WAY. GOD, BECAUSE OF YOU, I FORGOT TO TURN OFF THE CAMERA!”
Haenul suddenly woke up, escaping from the nightmare.
"That damned dream again."
Haenul picked up his phone to check the time. It was exactly 3 a.m. There were a lot of unread messages. He opened them and saw a message from Seok:
"Are you asleep?"
"If you see this message, meet me at the park like usual."
Haenul read it and knew something bad was about to happen. He looked out the window at the beautiful crescent moon and the starry sky. Haenul stared for a long time and noticed a piece of paper stuck to the window. He walked over to inspect it.
"YOU UGLY KID, NO MOTHER."
Haenul took a step back and realized there was no paper at all. It was just his imagination. He decided to lie down on the bed, feeling like someone was watching him intently. Haenul felt like someone was hugging him from behind. When he turned around, it was Seok: "Ding ding Haenul-ah, long time no see."
Haenul looked again, but it was just an illusion. It was a bit too terrifying because "Ding ding" was the nickname given to him by his childhood friend. Exhausted, Haenul eventually fell asleep without realizing it.
