"You will need a name," the leader remarked.

The kit nodded as the leader mewed, "Your name will be Scar. Soon you will grow strong enough to destroy the Clans."

Scar smiled, the first time since the incident. I can't wait to sink my claws into a Clan cat's pelt.

Scar was old to eat prey already. He practiced fighting on a piece of moss, trying big clumps of it into tiny pieces. He imagined the moss was a Clan cat and the leader would nod in approval.

During his stay, Scar found out the names of the other rogues. The oldest is the leader, Jaws. He didn't have a second-in-command like the Clan cats, but Caw seemed to act like one since he is second oldest there.

Another cat he knew was Night. Night is slightly older than him and hardly pays attention to him.

Scar knew that there were others, but Jaws had suggested to him not to ask for their names as they were easily annoyed.

That day, Scar had just finished eating his prey - a mouse - and he heard terrified yowls coming from outside.

Scar peered out and saw a brown tabby tom like him, and a cream she-kit. The tom kit's eyes were gleaming with anger as he tried to claw at Night, who was carrying him.

"These are your new denmates, Scar," Jaws mewed to him. "Their names are Bark and Cream."

Night dropped the brown tabby and the kit growled in hostility. However, the she-kit remained silent as Caw dropped her nearby Scar.

"I need you to make them more comfortable here," Jaws whispered to him. "Bark especially."

"I will," Scar mewed.

Jaws, Caw and Night left to their own dens, leaving Scar and the new kits alone. Bark cautiously stepped forward to meet him.

"What's your name?" he asked, relaxing slightly.

"Scar," he replied. "Is Cream your littermate?"

"No," Bark replied, narrowing his eyes. "Why did they bring us here?"

"To destroy the Clans of course," Scar mewed in surprise. "Don't you want to destroy them for what they have done?"

"What have they done?" he asked with a slight growl.

"In order to protect their precious territory, they drove a badger towards me and my mother. The badger killed her," Scar spat, and suddenly his vision blurred.

Bark's small body seemed to turn into a bigger cat's one. Thinking he was a Clan cat, Scar pounced at him.

Bark didn't blink at his sudden attack and he pinned Scar down easily. Bark's dark yellow eyes gleamed with anger and raised his paw to hit him.

"Stop," Cream spoke, putting a gentle paw on Bark, who turned to look at her.

"Fine," he growled, letting go of Scar. "He started it first though."

Scar got up, shaking dust off his pelt. "I'm sorry," he mewed guiltily. "I didn't mean to hurt you. I thought you were a Clan cat so I attacked..."

"It's okay," the anger in Bark's eyes fadded away. "I know what it's like to lose the only kin you know."

Bark padded closer to Scar. "My mother said that I was stronger than normal cats," he admitted. "And I find it hard to control it."

"We can help each other," Scar mewed with a smile.

"I suppose we can," Bark mewed.

Cream coughed to get their attention. "Are you two toms done talking? Because I am hungry."

"I can help you get some prey to eat," Scar offered.

"Thank you," Cream mewed, turning to Bark and talking to him.

Scar ran to Jaws' den. He needed permission first.

"Can I give Bark and Cream some prey?" he asked. Jaws narrowed his eyes.

"Have you make them more comfortable?" he asked.

"Yes," Scar replied.

"Did they cause any trouble?" Jaws asked again.

"I accidentally attacked Bark and he pinned me down," he mewed honestly. "But we are okay."

Jaws nodded in approval. "Anything interesting that you can tell me?" he mewed smoothly.

"Bark says that he is stronger than normal cats," Scar mewed.

"I see..." Jaws mewed thoughtfully. "He was a hassle to carry here. It would be good against the Clan cats. They would never expect it. Go ahead and bring them prey. You have done a good job."

"Thank you!" Scar mewed happily, padding towards the very small pile of prey.
