Chapter 6: Werewolf!?
Chapter 6
I stared at the credits rolling in. I just sat there with my mouth hanging open, curled up safely beside Alex.
That was the most scariest movie I had ever seen.
"Well, I gotta get home for supper before mom thinks I'm with a girl." Alex said as he got up and stretched.
"Technically, you are with a girl." I said back, switching off the TV.
"Well..." Alex trailed off.
"Shut up! You know darn well I am!" I shoved him so he stumbled and fell back onto the couch, laughing.
"Prove it." He whispered back, provoking me to blow up like a volcano.
"Now now. My future fiancée won't be proving anything to anyone other than me." Tyler spoke, getting up as well.
I just rolled my eyes at him. I had gotten used to him calling me that.
"Want me to prove how much I can make you scream?" I challenged.
"Oh please do." He said deeply with a stupid smirk.
I had not meant that sexual innuendo!
"I think you should go now." I heard Alex say gravely. He walked up to Tyler.
"Alex." I grabbed his shoulder but he shrugged me off.
Stupid overly-protective-best-friend!
"Well I think you should shut up before you get your pretty face pounded in." Tyler said just as gravely as Alex.
Alex raised a fist and swung it at Tyler.
I gasped and covered my eyes.
I slowly peaked out from my fingers.
Alex was standing there looking both shocked and pissed, while Tyler just smirked back with a completely calm expression, holding onto Alex's fist with one hand, in midair.
"Okay stop it both of you. Now." I said firmly, getting mad now.
Alex gave Tyler one last death glare, before turning around and walking towards me.
"Call me if you need anything." Alex looked into my eyes seriously, all that hatred and anger gone.
I just nodded.
I saw Tyler opening his mouth with a smirk, about to say a 'brilliant' comeback, when I stopped him.
If he got Alex more pissed... Well lets just say its better to leave him alone right now.
"Are you ready?" I asked him.
He frowned, but then replaced it with a cocky smirk.
"I'm always ready for you babe." He said as Alex stomped out the door.
"UGH! What's your damn problem? Can't you just for once talk normally without it turning into a sexual thing!?" I yelled.
He just stared at me like an idiot.
I sighed, grabbed the car keys to my convertible and started out the door.
The ride there was silent. But it was comfortable. Well for me at least.
Tyler kept running a hand through his hair and fidgeting with his hands.
"Where do I go from here?" I asked him, stopping at a stop sign.
I looked over at him when he didn't reply.
He was looking out the window, lost in thought.
"Tyler?" I asked softly.
He snapped his head to me. "Huh? Oh sorry, what was that?"
"Right or left?" I said slowly.
"Oh, left." He said, looking out the window and getting lost in thought again.
Damn I wish I knew what he was thinking.
I drove down a row of townhouses, each one looking identical. I slowed down to a stop.
"Where do I go from here?" I asked him, making sure to ask loud enough.
"It's alright, I'll get off here. Thanks." He mumbled as he fumbled with his seatbelt.
"Okay..." I trailed off unsure.
I sat there in silence, staring at him with amusement as he tried to unbuckle the belt.
I heard him curse under his breath and stifled a giggle.
Before I knew what I was doing, I reached out and put my hands over his.
The contact sent tingles up my arms, but I ignored it and unbuckled the seatbelt in a heartbeat.
"Thanks again." He mumbled, opening the door and scrambling out.
I sat there and watched as he slowly walked down the houses. I waited for him to stop in front of his, but he kept going, up to the forest.
I watched confused, as he climbed over the fence and disappeared into the bushes.
What the...
Before I knew it, I was out of my warm car, and sprinting after him into the cold night.
I couldn't help but wonder where he lived.
Oh please don't tell me he was a werewolf!
I considered it, and shook my head. No. Werewolves weren't rude, arrogant, egotistical jerks. According to twilight.
I cautiously climbed up the metal fence and jumped over to the other side.
I stopped and listened.
I heard his footsteps disappearing to my right.
I quickly bolted that way and stopped when I saw his back come into view.
I hid behind a tree and quietly crept behind him as he walked down the skinny path.
Ohmygosh. I just realized how much of a stalker I was being.
No. No I was not stalking him! I was just curious! And I had every right to know! Since he was going to be my-
NO! Stop it! Stop thinking that stupid brain!
I quickly tried to think of anything other than 'him'.
Hmm..
A sudden urge to eat Nutella washed over me. This always happened... I think I was food-bipolar...
I really want Nutella...
Damn! I think I'm out of it...
I could pick up a jar from Walmart on the way back...
I think I have money on my car, I forgot my wallet... I'm pretty sure I had five dollars in there.
Nutella isn't more than five dollars, right...?
Ugh I can't believe I forget how much Nutella costs, I eat it on a daily basis!
'Snap.'
I froze in my tracks as I glanced down at the stupid branch snapped in two under my feet.
Uh oh.
I quickly hid behind a tall bush and peeked from behind it.
I saw Tyler looking around, before he started walking again.
I sighed in relief.
That was too close.
I quietly followed him until I saw a cozy little cottage come into view.
It looked so warm and inviting. It was gorgeous.
It was a light brown color, and looked well in condition.
I stopped and hid behind another bush as I watched Tyler unlock the door.
I watched, confused, as I saw him pick up a large branch and hold it cautiously to his side as he crept in.
I quickly rushed to the entrance and pressed my self next to the doorway, out of view.
I froze as I heard a large smash and a thud.
I heard Tyler groan.
He was hurt.
"What the hell do you think you're doing here? I thought I told you to leave!" I heard a deep voice slur.
Whoever he was, he sounded mean and drunk, and I was pretty sure he had hit Tyler.
I heard another loud smash and another loud groan from Tyler.
That drunk man was hurting him!
What do I do?
I quickly looked around for help, and my eyes landed on a broom near me.
I quickly grabbed it and took a few deep breathes before I went in.
I quietly crept down the small hall and tried to locate where Tyler was.
I heard a loud thud from my right. I walked over there stealthily.
It was a large living room. It was really clean and tidy. The only thing that was out of place was Tyler's slightly bloody body on the ground, and a large burly man, who was standing over him, his back facing me.
"Boy, you sure got some balls to be coming back here. I think I need to make the message more clear this time." The man slurred.
I watched in horror as he raised his fists.
"Don't." Punch. "Come." Punch. "Back." Punch.
I couldn't take it anymore.
I strode over to the man and raised the broomstick like a ninja. My heartbeat was thudding.
I saw Tyler's eyes land on me and his eyes widened.
He mouthed 'no' and shook his head frantically.
I ignored him and imagined I was some professional wrestler.
I crashed the broom down on the man.
I watched in satisfaction as he fell to the ground.
He scrambled to get back up, but I quickly stepped on his back. Hard.
I heard him hiss in pain.
I whacked him in the head non-stop until his body went limp.
Wow. I had just knocked out a big burly drunk man. Or so I hoped. Wouldn't want to be a murderer.
I went over to Tyler and helped him up.
"Hilary! You need to get the hell out of here right now! You understand? You get your ass out of here right now before he wakes up again! Go!" Tyler yelled at me.
I ignored him and continued to drag him out the door.
"Hilary-"
"Shush! I'm not some stupid heartless girl like my mom, to leave you in that hell hole! Now shut up if you wanna sneak away without getting caught!" I whisper yelled.
He stared up at me in confusion, then slowly nodded, unsure.
I dragged him all the way to my car, and by the time we got in, I was breathing heavily.
"Man! What do you eat?" I asked, wiping my forehead.
"Hilary, about him, I'm so sorry you had to see him, are you okay?" Tyler looked at me concerned.
I burst out laughing.
He was acting like I was the bloody boy all beaten and bruised.
I sobered up and looked at his now more concerned face.
"What's so funny?" He asked confusion in his eyes, which made him look even more adorable.
I leaned into him and whispered in his ear. "You."
He looked at me with wide eyes.
He probably thought I was some lunatic.
Well, I did just stalk him to his house, knock out a drunk man, and dragged a bloody body to my car...
"Let's go to my place. I'll clean you up and you can stay there as long as you need to." I said casually as I started driving back home.
I saw him smile slightly from the corner of my eye.
We drove in silence, until Tyler finally broke it.
"Damn. Where'd you learn to fight like that? I feel ashamed. Look at me all bruised and battered, and then you, all badass, without a single scratch." He remarked.
"Well I thought you already knew I was super awesome. I never took any classes, it just comes naturally." I gloated.
Tyler brought his head near my neck and whispered. "Shut up and stop ruining the moment."
I shivered in pleasure.
What moment? We were having a moment?
I thought we were just teasing each other!
"Tyler! I'm driving! S-stop!" I stuttered uncontrollably.
He smirked, but pulled away slowly.
I slowly pressed myself against my door, trying to get as much space between him as possible, without it being obvious...
"So why don't you just live with your mother?" I asked, trying to move on from that...'moment'.
He froze and grew tense.
I stopped at a red light and glanced over at him.
I had hit a sore spot...
I put my hand on his clenched fist and squeezed gently, reassuringly. I put my hand back on the wheel, since his touch was sending tingles up my arm and who knew what he might take that slight gesture of comfort as...
"I won't tell anyone. If you want to talk about it-" I started.
"My parents got a divorce two years ago. My mom left my dad for another man. Now she lives with my step dad in a large house, they have three kids. I chose to stay with my dad, but then he started drinking a lot. I tried going back to mom, but she didn't want me anymore.
When we first met, I told you that I was doing this for my mom. Well I lied. I'm doing it because I needed the money. Your parents offered to give me five-hundred-thousand dollars. I knew you didn't want to do this, so I thought we could divorce right after." He said, his voice devoid of emotion. But his eyes betrayed him, as I saw anger and so much pain in them.
I didn't expect him to open up to me so easily...
I unbuckled my seatbelt and moved closer to him.
He watched me curiously, but didn't stop me.
I pulled him into a hug. He went tense at first, but then relaxed.
I think he needed a hug... Everyone needs hugs... I like hugs... Especially Tyler's...
I fit perfectly into him. He was so warm and comfy, I could fall asleep-
"BEEP!"
We both jumped apart as a car horn behind us blared. I looked up to see the light was green.
I quickly went back to my seat and drove home.
When we finally reached my house, I fished my keys out of my pocket, and unlocked the door quietly, making sure not to wake up anyone.
Chris was probably sleeping, and I had dropped Jordan at his friend's house this morning, so he was staying the night there.
I pushed down the handle and walked into the dark hallway.
I heard Tyler's heavy footsteps behind me, as I walked down the hall, to the living room.
As soon as I stepped in, I was bombarded with questions, from a very pissed looking Chris.
"Where the hell have you been? Do you have any idea what time it is!? Why weren't you picking up your cellphone? And who the hell is this guy?" Chris yelled, his face red, and not even slightly out of breath surprisingly.
I decided that I should just tell him that Tyler's a friend, since he would definitely kick him out if I told him the truth. I remembered Chris hadn't seen who my future-never-to-be-fiancé, so he would believe me.
"I was gone... to Kylee's!" I quickly covered up. "I was driving back home, and I stopped when I saw Tyler...my class mate, lying on the side of the road, all bloody and bruised, so I decided to bring him home and clean up his wounds."
Chris stared at my face intently, as he tried to catch any emotions, but I kept my face blank.
"Okay.. Where was your phone? You could've called me. And you still haven't answered why he's all bloody." Chris replied.
"My phone was dead." I lamely replied. At least this time I was telling the truth.
"I got into a motorcycle accident. I was driving home, and my tires got busted. Next thing I know, I'm crashing into a stop sign." Tyler explained this time.
Wow. He was a good liar.
"Alright. But I want him out of the house as soon as you're done cleaning up his wounds. I'm going to bed. Goodnight." And with that, Chris left the room, leaving Jerkie and I alone.
"Well, isn't he a charming boy." Tyler chuckled from behind me, his tone lacing with sarcasm.
I just rolled my eyes and grabbed his wrist.
"Come on." I dragged him up the stairs and into my room.
I took out the first aid kit from my washroom, and walked back into my room.
I saw Tyler was on his phone, sitting on my bed, looking stressed. But still looking sexy as-
NO! Stop it! I can't think like this!
I mentally shook my head and walked over to him.
"What do you mean you can't pick me up? Look man,I don't have a place to stay." Tyler was arguing on the phone.
What...?
I took the phone from his hands and hit the end call button.
"What do you think you're-" Tyler started, but I cut him off.
"You're staying the night here, dumbass."
He looked at me confused. And so ador-
Enough brain!
"But I thought your brother said-" he started.
"Screw what my brother said! I'm older than him anyways."
"Okay. Damn. I like it when your feisty." He winked at me.
I groaned, and opened up the first aid kit, deciding to not reply.
I quickly inspected his injuries.
He had a few cuts on his arms, and blood gushing out of his shoulder.
I quickly cleaned up the arm wounds.
"Take off your shirt." I ordered.
"Yes ma'am." He said in a husky voice.
I watched as he pulled of his black t shirt, doing it slowly on purpose.
I held back a gasp as I saw his very well toned body.
He had a perfect eight pack, and nicely tanned skin.
Yum.
"Hey. Can you check me out later babe? I think I might die if you don't attend my injury." Tyler said in an overly dramatic voice.
"I wasn't-" I started.
"Just hurry up with my shoulder please." He sighed.
I slid onto the bed behind him, crossing my legs.
I could feel his body heat radiating off him.
I reached out to his muscular shoulder, and wiped the blood away with a wet cloth.
I then took out a white roll of bandage, and tied it around his shoulder.
"Okay. All done!" I said, patting his shoulder gently.
Just as I was about to pull away my hands, he grabbed them with his own, and turned around, facing me.
He pulled me closer to him, that our noses were almost touching.
My breath hitched.
He raised his hand and ran it through my hair.
I shivered in delight as I felt tingles shoot through me.
"I should pay you back now." He whispered in my ear in a low, sexy voice.
"F-for what?" I stammered.
I felt his warm lips suddenly on my neck, as he planted soft kisses all the way down to my collarbone.
The feeling was amazing. It was like tiny little fireworks where his lips touched.
I let out a soft moan, and I felt his lips pull up into a smile against my skin.
"For everything." He whispered against my skin.
No. No no no. This isn't right. I can't let this happen.
No.
I'm such a slut!
With all my willpower, I grabbed his head and pushed his lips away from my neck.
"Stop." I said quietly, looking at the ground.
He moved so fast, I didn't see him coming.
Next thing I knew, I was lying on my back, with him on top of me.
I could feel all of him pressed against me. I could feel his muscles moving.
This wasn't what I meant when I said stop...
It was all sending sparks and tingles everywhere in my body.
My stomach was flipping.
My heart was beating excitedly.
My breathing was short and quick.
The whole feeling was so sensational. I felt so safe underneath him.
I could stay like this forever.
But no. I couldn't. As much as my heart was beating madly, and my body wanted more, my mind was yelling at me to get away from him.
"Tyler-" I started, but he cut me off.
"Shhh." He whispered. "Don't say anything. I know you don't want this."
Total lie.
"But please, let me hold you. Just for tonight." He whispered seriously. I looked into his intense eyes.
There was so much hurt in them. I wanted to take away all his pain. I wanted to know him like I knew Alex and Kylee.
So I found myself nodding at him.
I watched as relief took over his face, and then joy.
He smiled down at me.
"You're so beautiful." He murmured.
I felt my cheeks heat up, which was very rare.
He ran his hand through my hair again.
He leaned in and looked into my eyes.
He came so close, that our foreheads were touching.
He leaned in even further, if that was even possible, and closed his eyes.
I closed my own eyes, waiting for his lips to crash down onto mine.
But it never happened.
I slowly opened my eyes and studied his face.
He was breathing slowly, and had a frown on his face.
I reached out to his face and slid my hand onto his smooth cheek.
His eyes fluttered open. He stared at me curiously.
I slid my hand behind his neck and pulled his head down next to mine.
"You should get some rest." I whispered.
He smiled at me. A real genuine smile. It made my heart skip a beat.
I slid out from under him and pulled back the covers.
I went to my washroom to change.
I studied myself in the mirror. My hair had the bed head look, my clothes were disheveled, my face was flushed... I looked like I had just had sex...
Wow, I feel like a slut...
Ugh.
I threw on a black tank top and some comfy shorts, then went back into my room and crawled under the covers.
I looked up and saw Tyler unbuttoning his jeans, and held in a gasp.
How was I supposed to sleep with a hot, half-naked boy with a six pack, without jumping him?
He pulled down his jeans without hesitation, to reveal his red boxers.
He then walked over to the bed, and crawled under the sheets.
A moment later, I felt him move around and his strong arms slid around my waist, pulling me into his back.
As if possible, my heart went double its speed. I tried calming myself down, scared that he'd hear my heart.
"Relax." He murmured into my ear, noticing my tense posture.
I instantly replied, by sinking into his secure arms. I snuggled into him.
I slowly drifted to sleep, listening to his soft, even breathing, and his heart which was pounding, exactly like mine, against my back.
But my heart was completely ignoring my mind, which was screaming at me to get away from him.
