~June 22, 2017~

Alice drove me to the Pet Shelter like any other day. I worked there with Minho and Thomas, as usually. Ann was in the front. A few people came up and talked to Ann, but didn't come to visit the puppies and kittens. The whole time I was at the pet shelter I hadn't seen one pet get adopted.

I worked in the cat room today. Brushing all the cats. Thomas was playing around with them, while Minho did who knows what in the dog room.

My favorite kitten was a small sunny colored kitten named Lemon. He was really small, a little bigger than my hand, but not by much. If wanted to I could hold him in one hand just fine. I had taken a picture of him and sent it to Melody through another letter.

I hadn't heard back from her. I had sent three letters after her latest one, I tried not to be worried, but I couldn't help myself. Friday, June 30th I was going with Melody's parents, Jake, Jack, Jazzy and Lilac were going to pick everyone up. Mina, Melody, Zach, Kelley, Albert, and Rose were at the camp. All in different parts of the camp, I heard they didn't see much of each other, unless they were the in the same group. Meaning they are the same age, so only Zach and Kelley were stuck with each other. Which was fine with me, I wasn't too fond of Kelley. I tried getting along with her, since she is my best friend's sister, but it did not work out. We kind of ignore each other most of the time.

I petted Lemon one last time before I went to clean myself up. I went to the bathroom and washed my hands and face. I made sure I had my phone with me and went outside to wait for Alice.

"Bye Minho!" Thomas shouted as Minho peddled away down the road. Minho may have done a small nod or something, it was kind of hard to tell. Thomas hadn't given up on making Minho his friend. I would have given up if I was him, but he hadn't. "Bye Kyle." Thomas said before running across the street.

Nether of us talked much about anything at home or outside of the shelter. I found that weird.

Friends made me think of Melody. Melody made me think of our kingdom. The one I hadn't visited for almost a month.

I pulled out 50 bucks from my wallet. An idea sprang into my head. I smiled just as Alice pulled up.

I hoped in the front seat, not waiting for Alice to say anything. I pulled my seatbelt on.

"Can we go to HomeDepot?" I asked. Alice looked at me strangely.

"Sure." She said. "But if you need anything you're going to have to pay for it."

"I got money." I said. I guess Alice had gotten used to me and my weird habits. I mean, what boy is obsessed with butter, likes reading and has a best friend that is a girl? Not a whole ton of boys. Not that's all bad things, just unusual.

I got what I needed from the store, Alice still hadn't said anything about what I bought, but just let me be. We drive home in silence. The second I got home I grabbed everything I had bought and ran to the kingdom. To Ibaleterm. I crossed over the river and set down what I bought. Flowers.

I had bought flowers. Lots and lots of flowers.

I went to the castle, Melody and I had finished right before she left. It wasn't really a castle. It was a medium sized treehouse in a tall tree. There had already been a platform up there, probably used for hunting a while ago. Melody and I had added walls and a ceiling. A rope later was the only way to get up there.

I took the flowers and made a pathway of them. All the way from the river to the treehouse castle.

I planted flowers of blue and pink. Purples and yellows were mixed in there too.

I worked for a few hours, before I was finally proud and happy with the work I had done. I packed up everything that I needed to throw away and started back to the house.

I threw everything away and decided to take a shower. I let the cold water run down my back and splash into my face. I took a quick shower and threw on a t-shirt and some shorts. I looked at my watch.

7:06

It was already pretty late.

"Hey Kyle! Want to watch a movie? I ordered pizza!" Alice called from a few rooms away.

Is that a question?

I know it's not 1000 words, but I'm trying here. I'm on a writers block and a chapter like this usually takes me about a day to write, and now it took three days.

I'm really sorry for the slow updates.

So.... I found a picture of Thomas now. It's above and I'll post an edit below.
