I didn't Max say anything when I opened the door.

"Nicky is here." I told him. He stopped saying, what he was about to say.

"Nicky, as in your step sister?" Max asked. I shook my head.

"Alice know?" He asked. I shook my head.

"Well did you call her?" Max asked me.

"Once."

"This is something that she needs to leave work for." Max said. He took out his cellphone. It ringed a few times. "Voicemail." He told me. He tried again. And again. The fifth time he got it. He handed me the phone.

"Max, what's going on-"

"It's Kyle." I interrupted her, I've been interrupting people a lot lately. "Nicky is here." I continued.

"Wait, Nicky as in your step sister?" Alice asked.

"Technically she's your step sister too." I told her. Alice didn't say anything for a few seconds.

"I'm coming home right now." She told me. She hung up the phone without another word.

"She's coming now." I told Max.

"Told you all you got to do was call a bunch of times." Max told me.

"So, where's the package?" I teased him.

"I told Alice you wouldn't fall for that." Max said.

Alice got here ten minutes later. Nicky had gotten up from her little nap and Max had made her a sandwich. She sat at one end of the table, Max and I at the other. No one said a word.

Then the front door flew open.

"You young lady are in so much trouble!" Alice yelled. I was happy I wasn't in Nicky's place because Alice did not sound happy. Nicky did not look affected by Alice's voice. Alice stormed into the room.

"You know how mad your mother is at me right now!" Alice yelled at Nicky. Nicky shrugged.

"She's your mom, my step mom." Nicky said.

"I stopped calling her, mom, last year." Alice thundered.

"I don't care." Nicky said.

"You better care if your coming to my house in Michigan!" Alice yelled. "You bullied that kid for four years and then you show up at the place he lives." Alice said pointing to me. I didn't meet their eyes. I didn't like being reminded. "You beat him up every day, you laughed in his face, you made him cry, you made him scared to get in his own house! He couldn't go to school without being bullied because of you! What did you do? You laughed some more!" Alice screamed at her.

"If I was him, I would have kicked you to the road and leave you there. I'm still wondering what in the world you're doing here." Alice yelled at Nicky.

"Where was I supposed to go!" Nicky yelled back.

"Anywhere but here!" Alice yelled right back at her. Nicky didn't have anything else to say. "Now, I have to skip work to get you on a train to Florida." Alice yelled. "I don't know if you know or not, but we are not rich. I need to somehow pay for collage, taxes, the house, food, clothing and everything. Now I need to pay to get you to Florida, and your mother better pay me back for that. And she can start sending a check or two for a year here." Alice yelled. I didn't bother listening to anymore. I pushed past Max and went into my room. I locked the door and fell onto my bed.

Why couldn't I have just gone to the shelter today? None of this would have ever happened.

I know it's shorter than I'm trying to get it. I'm sorry, but it's pretty hard for me. I'm trying. Some chapters will hit 1000, others will not. Sorry.

It's supposed to be Melody's turn, but to be honest I can not find anyone that fits Melody's description, so we will wait on that.

Above is Zach. I think he's like my favorite character now (after Kyle, no duh). This was one of the easiest, but when I saw the picture on Google, I was like. Hi Zach. Because that's almost exactly like I pictured him.
