CCPD
Skylar had managed to find her way to Central City, extremely excited to move away from her home in Coast City with her brother, Hal Jordan. She left to get to Central to get a job at the Central City Police Department, aka the CCPD. Maybe as a forensics scientist, sketch artist.... She didn't know, but she really wanted a job there.
Skylar looked up at the clear blue sky, happy that the place was cheerful and clear. She was on her way to the coffee shop to see her old friend, Iris West. When she arrived, her stomach began to growl and she looked around to make sure no one noticed.
Iris stood behind the counter of the Jitter's, Skylar believed was the name of the coffee shop, her brown hair down over her shoulders.
"Iris!" Skylar squeaked happily, running up to the counter. Her blue eyes scanned her friend's face, before Iris turned to look at her.
"Skylar!" Iris cheered, running out from behind the counter and wrapping her arms tightly around Skylar. Skylar wrapped her arms around Iris, a small smile on her face as she hugged her old friend.
"Hi!" The two friends say as they pull away from each other with a wide grin.
"Have you seen Barry?" Iris asked.
"Barry?" Skylar's eyes widened. "No, no I haven't. Not quite yet. Where is he?"
"The police department." Iris replied with a soft smile. "Not to get rid of you or anything, but I need to get back to my shift. Maybe you could pay him a visit?"
Skylar gave a small nod. After a few donuts and buying a pastry treay for Barry just for a "long time, no see" gift, she strayed off to head out to the police department.
Her feet patted against the ground as her sneakers hit the concrete sidewalk. Skylar's blonde hair got in her face as the wind blew, and she struggled to brush her hair back as she walked.
*****At CCPD*****
"Um, hello." Skylar says with a small smile. "I would like to apply for a job here?"
"You must be Skylar Jordan. The girl who called the other day?" The black haired woman behind the front desk asks.
Skylar gave a cheerful nod with a kind smile. The woman flipped through papers, then looked up at Skylar.
After their long conversation that nearly bored out Skylar, the woman nodded.
"You suggested a forensics scientist or a sketch artist, correct?" The woman asked, and Skylar nodded, trying to keep the bored look off her face.
"You will be working with the forensics scientist now, correct?" The woman asked.
"That would be enjoyable. What is his name?" Skylar automatically assumed it was a "he". Not many girls wanted to work in forensics.
"Barry Allen. You can take those stairs up to the lab." The woman flicked a hand to the stairs behind her.
"I- Okay, thank you." Skylar was confused on why they had not told Barry first, or even taken a few days to think about it, but it had taken all of what Skylar had to push down a squeal of happiness. She came to say hi to an old friend, but now she was working with him.
Her feet tapped the stairs lightly as she ran up them, a wide grin on her face. The pastry was in the brown bag she was holding tightly, and she knocked on the wall.
"Come in." A male's voice says, sounding distracted and bored.
"Barry!" Skylar nearly sprinted up to the spikey brown haired male, her arms squeezing him tightly into a hug.
"Skylar?" Barry, confused, looked down at his old, blonde friend as his arms wrapped around her.
"We're partners now, Strawbarry."
