"That stupid ass of a prince said what?" Amelia yelled in anger as the guard told her she was not allowed to enter the castle, because of the tighter safety measure and Kris's statement that they were no longer engaged weren't helping at all.

"Tell him I can prove Rory's innocence, so he better gets his lazy ass over here or I'll hunt him in his dreams." The girl said. She was so mad at the silly prince right now. She was gone for only three days and Kris had dumped her as if she wasn't worth anything. Had she trusted him too much? But who could she blame if not herself.

"Watch your language. Just because you used to be the prince's fiancée doesn't mean you can say such things about him. And everything that has to do with that case will have to wait until we find the Princess. Now go away or I'll have to arrest you." The guard said, causing Amelia's hands to clench in frustration.

"No, YOU step aside and let me in or I'll have to hurt you," threatened Amelia with a dangerous low voice.

"It's your own fault then," said the guard, grabbing for his sword.

To his surprise, the only thing he could see - before landed on the ground with his own sword being pointed at his own self - was how Amelia rolled her eyes and murmured 'stupid man'.

Little did he know that the skinny and fragile-looking girl in front of him was the only daughter of the Supreme Commander of the royal army and had spent every summer at the border, training fencing. The girl gave him a death glance that sent a cold rush through his body. As Amelia made a step back and took a defensive stance, the guard noticed his reinforcement was there and breathed out in relief.

At the sight of the muscular men running at her, Amelia tightened her grip on the sword and fire was in her eyes. Yet, before the fight started, it was already interrupted.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you. You can never beat her, not in this life," said a man, walking towards them slowly.

"General Payne," exclaimed the men. "This woman wanted to enter the castle without permission and she attacked one of our men."

"Liam, where the hell is Kris?" Amelia questioned impatiently.

"He is in his chamber. Let me take you there," answered Liam before leading the way, leaving the confusing guards behind.

"But General Bang," they called.

"She is my friend and as I can see, you attacked her first, so don't act like she is the guilty one here." Liam calmly said, ignoring them.

As they walked through the hallway, Amelia asked shyly.

"You are not going to tell Kris about what you saw, are you?"

"Why? You don't want him to be afraid of you?" Liam laughed.

"Haha, very funny" answered Amelia with sarcasm, shaking his head.

"You know Kris has always been the stronger one of us and I'm not sure what he'd think if he knows I'm not the fragile little girl who needs to be protected anymore?"

"Alright, I understand. But you must show me how you did that trick with the sword," replied Liam, only to get a death glance from Amelia.

"It's not a trick. It's years and years of training and you can ask Alex to show you that. You guys are friends, I heard."

"What? Alex knows how to fight?" Liam asked loudly in shock, trying his best not to sound like he was yelling at Amelia.

"Oh please, do you think I spent every summer at the border alone. I mean Alex is also my dad's son."

By that Liam widened his big eyes in shock.

"But... But last week, when I showed him how to... oh damn that was why he learned so fast. Oh god, I taught a master of fencing how to hold a sword." The boy murmured to himself.

"Did you say something?" asked Amelia, narrowed his eyes.

"NO, did you say something?"

"You are so weird today. Anyway, we're here. I want to talk to Kris in private. Is that alright?"

"Of course," replied Liam. "Oh and Amelia?"

"Huh?"

"How good is Alex at fencing?" Liam asked awkwardly.

Amelia only smiled, shaking her head at the hopeless boy.

"He had avoided me for years, so we hadn't practiced together so often. But father said none of his men could beat Alex."

And with that she opened the door to Kris's chamber, going in without noticing how Liam's face turned pale.

"Where is he?" Amelia asked herself as she saw the empty bed.

Then, before she could realize anything, she was pushed on the bed with someone on top of her, pointing a knife at her neck.

"What are you doing here? Who let you in?" The man said.

"Kris?" asked Amelia in shock.

"Amy?" The Prince replied. "I could have kill you. What are you doing here?"

"We need to talk."

"I thought I wouldn't see you again."

"Yeah, I did hear about the Prince canceled the engagement."

"I'm sorry I didn't know what was going on. I thought you left."

"Well what was going on is that I went to find a proof that can show Rory 's innocence. Meanwhile my fiancé dumped me. How the hell should I bring the proof to the King, if we aren't engaged anymore? The guards didn't even let me in." Amelia exploded in anger. She wasn't even sure why she was so mad at Kris, since to be honest, she knew she could get in the castle with or without being the Prince's fiancée.

"First of all, I did that because I thought you left me for good. Second, how should I know you left to look for a proof? You didn't say a word before leaving. And third, I just broke our engagement and the only thing bothers you is you can't get into the castle because of that?" Kris argued, not even noticing he, himself, hadn't even ask what Amelia had found to save Rory.

In the last years of his life, there was no other topic in his life than saving his friend and now when the girl in front of him said she found the proof, he didn't want to hear what it was. All what was on his mind was how this pretty girl didn't even care about him breaking their engagement what meant that this marriage didn't mean anything to her.

"Oh you want to play that game. Fine, first, I can't believe you thought I would leave Rory at this moment. Second, I was in a hurry and didn't have the time to explain everything to you. Then again, why should I tell your sister such an awesome plan to get Rory more times, if I didn't have an idea to save him and if you are smart enough, you should have noticed that no matter how awesome the plan is, it would never work for a long time, you genius. And third, you don't have the right to be mad at me. I'm the one who just got dumped. But that's irrelevant now, because all that matters now is to save Rory and we can't do that if we keep standing here, talking nonsense."

"Rory , Rory ... as if he is your fiancé. Now, since you did everything on you own the whole time, I guess you don't need me at the end too. Please, go ahead. Go to father and save your" yelled the Prince angrily.

"Kris, are you jealous of Rory ?" asked Amelia confusingly.

"What? NO, why should I? I don't even care. I... I'm going back to sleep now. Do what you want. I don't care," lied Kris.

Rolled her eyes, annoyed, Amelia turned around, ready to leave the room as her legs gave up after a few steps. Just then she remembered she hadn't eaten the whole day and was tired to death. Very soon she found herself falling to the ground without being able to do anything against it. That was until a pair of strong arms caught her weak body, picked her up bride style.

"You are not going to save anybody in this condition," said Kris, sighed, as he gently laid her on the bed.

"Kris, sorry for the outburst. I guess I'm so tired and hungry that I couldn't think straight." Amelia apologized after an awkward silence. Her mother was right, most of the times when you're mad, you're most likely just hungry.

"That's at least a problem I can solve. Wait here, I'll bring you something to eat," said the prince before left the room.

"So when you discussed with Julia about Alex and her being the exact copies of each other or not, you got that suspicion and that was why you visited your father to check it?" asked Kris. Amelia nodded with a mouth full of food and a smile appeared on the prince's lips.

"And your father, did he confirm it? Can we go to father and save Rory?" He asked impatiently.

"Yes, he did and yes, we can. That was exactly what I'm trying to tell you the whole time," answered Amelia.

"Oh thank god. Let's go, then" beamed Kris. "I mean after you're done eating. Have you even slept the last days?"

"No, but I want to free Rory now. He shouldn't be any second longer in that jail." Amelia said.

"I understand. I'll go for Liam now. He deserves to be present when Rory 's innocence is proved. He helped us a lot. And you take at least a rest while I'm gone."

"I will," replied Amelia and with that Kris left the room once again.

Awkwardness was still in the air. But now Kris felt guilty for what he did. How could he be so stupid and hadn't trusted Amelia? Damn it, he messed everything up again. Moreover, he knew their discussion wasn't over yet. They still needed to talk about the broken engagement again. Oh god, what should he tell her? He didn't want them to end like this.

As the prince came back with Liam, the boys found Amelia curled up in a ball on the bed, sleeping peacefully.

"I guess Rory can wait one more day. She deserves a rest after all the miracles she worked." Liam said, tapped on Kris's shoulder before going out.

The prince couldn't help but smiled like an idiot while looking at Amelia's sleeping face. Her eyelashes were long. Her lips are rosy and so kissable. She was so beautiful.

Kris couldn't resist but kissed his ex-fiancée gently and laid down next to her, hugged her tightly from behind as if that way she wouldn't run away again.

"If you want to leave after we found the murderer, I won't force you to stay..." The prince remembered what he once said, and his heart sunk. He didn't want anything more than saving his friend, but if that meant he would lose his love forever? What should he do?

Amelia was going to stay, wasn't she?
