Jungkook was too excited to wake up the next morning only to find out that his friend wasn't even next to him anymore. He shouted his name around the house but received no response. Where is he?
He couldn't find Jimin on the way to school or even at the front gates. Luckily, he found a familiar face who also seemed to be searching. "Hoseok!" The elder glanced over, wide smile spread across his features.
"What's up Kook?" His eyes wandered before meeting the taller again. "Did you end up talking with Jimin?"
"I-Uh yeah... kinda." The younger blushed, looking away. "I need to find him, he didn't say goodbye before he left this morning and-"
"This morning? What happened last night?" Jimin at someone else's house? Something must of happened to him...
"Um... Nothing. I gotta go." Jungkook shook it off, not wanting to tell a secret that wasn't his to tell. "Bye hyung."
Jungkook couldn't remember doing anything wrong last night. He knew Jimin was fragile right now and there's no way he could tell him that he cared about him. A lot. Too much sometimes but he thinks it's enough to care about him from afar.

Jimin wouldn't be found the entire day. He avoided waking up next to Jungkook, sprinting out of the house when he saw the younger passed out still. It wasn't like he didn't want to stay, especially when he saw the soft morning glow that Jungkook had. He admits that he stayed a little bit longer than he should have, watching the softs puffs of wind escape the younger's lips. He couldn't ignore the calmness to his features or the built figure under the tight shirt... But he had to go. He couldn't risk seeing him that day.
So he did the only thing he was used to: hide. Luckily for him, they didn't have many classes together and he decided to not eat with his friends during lunch. He did feel bad about leaving Jungkook in the morning without a note or any explanation but Jimin found this whole situation embarrassing. Poor Jungkook probably didn't even know what he was doing.
Jungkook's only chance to talk was their last class together. He came early in case he had the opportunity to talk with the blond before the teacher demanded all their attention. Of course it was in vain, the blond arrived late to class on purpose so as to not even look Jungkook in the eye. It helped that the younger sat behind him so he wouldn't have a reason to catch his stares. What did he do wrong?
**Flashback**
Jungkook was trying so hard to make Jimin happy. Everytime he felt that the blond forgot about his worries, Jungkook said something that reverted him back to his defensive state. Whether it was making food for him, school or plans for the future, the younger couldn't get around it. But it didn't even bother him how hard he had to work to crack that tough exterior, what hurt him is how much Jimin has been through that he acts like this. He knows that he has put these walls around himself for his entire life and Jungkook wants to help break them down. He wants to sooth Jimin's heart, make it whole again. "Have you... gone out with a lot of girls?"
The younger had blown through all the possible conversations he could think of. "Um..." Jimin's rosy cheeks matched the extra set of clothes Jungkook gave him for the night. "Why?"
"Well, cause-" I don't know what else to ask you? "Some girls talk about you a lot at school... must be easy to get someone to like you right?"
The topic of romance was always a hard one with Jimin, something he wanted to avoid talking about with Jungkook especially. He realized he was staring at the younger for too long before he answered. "It's not easy." Jimin began unfolding the clothing handed to him. "The more you like someone, the harder it is to not fuck up."
Jungkook chuckled. "Wise words." The younger didn't have much experience in that department.
"What about you? You're not too bad yourself... I bet a lot of farm girls fell for you."
"Shut up." The younger threw a nearby pillow at Jimin's face. Was it just him or was it really hot in here? "I never grew up on a farm dumbass, I was homeschooled."
"You brat! Did you just hit me in the face?" He looked for the nearest object.
"Yeah. Where's your fighting skills now shortie?"
"Shortie??" Jungkook was in for it now. He knew it the moment he saw Jimin charge at him with a pillow in each hand. "I'm gonna get you Jeon Jungkook!" The blond was thrashing around the pillows, not even bothering to check if the blows landed. Giggles erupted from the both of them as the lept from bed to ground to bed again.
"You're too slow~" Jungkook stuck his tounge out like a child, expecting to lure him in. They were both panting like crazed dogs, packed full of adrenaline. Unfortunately, Jimin had other plans, setting the stuffed silk cases on the ground next to him. Puzzled, the younger slumped to his knees on his bed before putting the pillows aside as well. "What? Too tir-"
Jimin pushed him with all his might, causing Jungkook to bounce on the bed before he straddled him. "Haha! Tricked you~"
"W-What are you..." Jungkook's gulp could be heard across the room, his body unable to move since he was pinned by the incredibly strong munchkin.
"Keep talking to me like that and I'll beat you up again Jungkookie! Don't think that because we're friends now I won't hurt you." Jimin pretended to wind up his arm to scare the younger but Jungkook wasn't looking at his fist. He realized Jungkook was looking at the smaller's hips pinning him down. "D-Don't forget it." He slid off, pulling the extra clothing to his chest before heading to the nearest bathroom.
They didn't- no couldn't- look at each other when Jimin came back. They were both in Jungkook's clothing and the younger found it amusing how big his shirt hung off his friend's shoulder. He liked the way Jimin looked, long sleeved shirt resting mid thigh and the shorts stopping above his knee. He looked so huggable when he tugged at the sleeves that passed his small hands, Jimin's eyes wandering for a place to sleep. "S-So I guess I'll take some blankets and sleep on the floor..."
Jungkook almost laughed. He wasn't serious was he? "Don't be weird Jimin, we're both guys aren't we? We'll share my bed." The smaller's eyes widen but he keeps his mouth shut.
"Y-Yeah. That's fine." A million thoughts were flying through his head at that moment. Of course he's had sleepovers before, he goes to Hoseok's and Taehyung's houses all the time. He's tried to sleep in other people's bed more than his own because of his situation but now... Now it's different. He felt the butterflies explode in his stomach when he saw Jungkook hop under the covers, motioning for him to join him. He slipped in between the sheets and turned to face the bedside table. He thought it would be worse to face Jungkook now because then he would never fall asleep. It turns out it could be just as bad when he feels the younger's arms slip around his waist.
"Sorry, you just look so huggable." Jungkook chuckled behind his ear, goosebumps rising from the slight breeze. Surely he could hear Jimin's heartbeat. Maybe even feel it from the close proximity. Jungkook was pressing his entire body against him, it was maddening. "Goodnight Jiminie~"
Wow he really wants to kill me. "G-Goodnight."
**End of Flashback**
Class ended with a new assignment handed out and numerous failed attempts to get Jimin's attention. Luckily Jungkook had longer legs so it was easy to catch up with him in the hallways. But the blond was pissed. The younger had to descalate the situation, guessing how Jimin feels about public conversations. He pulls Jimin into a random classroom, not caring about the resistance provided by the impossible boy. "Just leave me alone!"
"No! You're my friend, I care about you."
"So? Hoseok and Taehyung are my friends, they don't pull this shit. Why do you care so much?" Jimin huffed in annoyance, choosing to look anywhere but the giant.
"I don't know... I just do, okay?"
But that's not what Jimin wanted to hear. "That's not good enough!"
Jungkook gets scared by the scream but tries to calm him down anyways. "What can I do to make you feel better?" The younger was desperate now and wanted to do his best. It turns out it worked because Jimin finally looks at him in a new light, seeing a face clear of judgement and only concern for him. His heart cracks.
"Why are you so.. so... perfect? It's sickening." Jungkook laughs, assuming it's a joke but Jimin stays quiet. "I'm not even close..." He whispers but Jungkook definitely heard it.
"What? How could you think so low of yourself? Have you even seen a mirror?" Jimin cracked a smile at the compliment and the taller feels his heart racing. Jimin almost never smiles. But he wants to make it happen more often.
"Shut up." His cheeks were crimson now and the younger could tell even with the lights off.
"Why? Cause I'm sickening?" His eyebrow raises, arms folding across his chest.
"You're dumb." Jimin pushes him aside and turns to leave the room.
"I thought I was perfect?"
"Oh my god I'll never compliment you again." Jungkook pouts and Jimin giggles. "Just leave me alone." The blond was already out of the door before he responded.
"As you wish."
