The Black Moth (Aleya10)
The Black Moth
A dark, megalithic moth;
It's frame covered in speckled bands,
Like a monstrous child of ancient times,
Caught my eye with velvety wingspan.
Intoxicated and bewitched by the sight,
I forgot to look at the window beside;
It started dancing to the tunes of last ballad
Elfin adventure on those damp, brick walls,
In meandering pattern for it's strength dwindle;
Wings fluttering forever for momentary solace,
Eventually it had to rest; eerily it got enmeshed
In the dark, viscid, molten wax of the candle.
Sobered up in the morning from my liquored haze,
I found the moth was gone! Yet the shadow stayed.
