Bombshell
We were all sat round, Liam had been taken to the police station (You see he has an ankle tag and he set off the alarm for the third time this morning.) At the station a guy called Jack had bailed him out. The bombshell I heard next had taken me along time to process apparently he was our brother. Tracy and Frank had gone to meet him and he wanted to be part of our lives.
"How did you find him then?" I ask Liam for the 5th time that day since I knew he wasn't being honest with me.
"I told you Tracy found him and then he turned up out of the blue and they let me go." Liam told me.
"What just like that?" I ask.
"Yes now will you give it up he is a policeman."
"Yeah but you still broke bail multiple times." I argue.
"Which was not my fault." he fights back.
"I'm not saying it is I am just saying that I can't believe they let you go on the word of some guy that didn't even see what happened." I reply and with that Liam huffed off upstairs.
I made my way to my room and opened up my book escaping into another world as I shut out the confusion of what had happened today.
A couple of hours later Mike called me, I went downstairs to see what he wanted and I was shown into the office where Gina, Tracy, Liam and the guy who I assumed was Jack were standing.
"Teags this is Jack." Liam introduces me to the man.
"Hi." I mumbled.
"Teagen, I want Liam to come and live with me." Jack tells me. I look up at both my brothers in utter confusion. What had I done? Why did Jack not want to take me too?
"Ok." Was all I was able to mumble before I walked out of the office and back to my room. A few moments later there was a knock on my door.
"Come in" I called before Liam emerged into my room.
"Are you alright?" he questions.
"What did I do Liam? Why doesn't he want me?" I ask.
"It's not you Teags, he can't take you because of work but I'm older." he tells me.
"So you get to go off and live a happy life with Jack while I am stuck here." I say becoming annoyed at the situation.
"Look I have to move out soon anyway, this is for the best." He tells me.
I storm of out of my own room. 'for the best' he was starting to sound like a bloody social worker. Little did he know that there was no way I was going to cope here on my own. I went down to the garden to get away from everyone. I looked out and it was raining a bit meaning the garden would be empty so I walked down to the end of the garden where a little shed sat filled with bikes and summer stuff. I cleared a small space at the back so I couldn't be seen and just sat in my own little world listening to my music.
Liam wasn't the most supportive big brother but he was all I had and I didn't know what I was going to do without him. This huge house filled with hussle and bustle, where no one liked me and most days I was only acknowledge to be picked on. How was I going to cope on my own with no one beside me.
I eventually went back into my room and laid on my bed but It wasn't long before a knock came on my door once again.
"Go away." I shouted which was a first time I had never shouted at anyone besides Liam and even then I almost always felt guilty.
"I don't think I have ever heard you shout in all the time I have been here." Tracy says looking a little take aback.
"Sorry, I guess I was shouting over the music." I said quickly hiding the headphones that weren't even plugged in.
"How do you feel about Liam leaving. You didn't really say much." She asks.
"It will be good for him. it's for the best." I say using Liam's own words.
"That's a really mature look on things, this is a good opportunity for Liam and it might really help him." Tracy tells me clearly believing my facade.
She soon leaves my bedroom and I am left to slip back into my own little world.
