Strike 1
My next lesson if Maths, the absolute worst subject in the history of school. I slowly made my way to class meaning that I was five minutes late which did not go unnoticed by the teacher but I did make up a fairly good excuse about my science teacher keeping me late which she believed. I took my seat and started on the work, well I say started I basically just doodled all over it because I didn't understand any of what the teacher was saying.
"Miss, when are we even ever gonna use this?" I questioned getting totally bored of the lesson.
"When you get a job." She replies.
"I don't think my job is ever going to require me to need to know how to find out how long one side of a triangle is. It's called using a tape measure." I tell her.
"Well what if you can't physically measure the triangle." She argues.
"Well then there must be some plan of this triangle, so I'll just measure it on there."
"Stop interrupting my lesson and do the work." She tells me.
Really not understanding the work I put my hand up again but the teacher just ignored me. I guess this is what Mike is always banging on about 'Being the boy who cried wolf and no one came.' It's a book he read to us when we were younger.
At the ned of the lesson my teacher got annoyed that I had not done the work even though my hand had been up since she gave us the work.
"I can't have detention tonight, I have to get home by 3.30." I tell her since I had to be home from school by 4 which usually gave me a little bit of time since it only took 20 minutes to get home and we finished at 3.
"Well you should have thought about that before you got yourself in trouble."
"I could get in trouble with the police. You have to call my care worker." I demanded.
"I don't have to do any such thing as I am only keeping you for half an hour." She remarks.
"Well then I am calling him." I say taking out my phone which she just snatches of me.
"Sit down and do the work."
"I don't understand the work which is why I had my hand up."
The next half an hour is the longest time of my life but because 'I won't tell her what is going on' she actually keeps me for an hour which she isn't even aloud to do since she didn't clear it with Mike. Trust me I tried many tactics to get out after half an hour but she wouldn't believe anything I said.
I ran as fast as possible but I knew I wasn't going to make it in time. When I finally arrived home the police were already stood waiting in the office with Mike.
"Teagen, you are over your curfew time, where have you been." Mike asks angrily.
"I got a detention." I replied looking down at the floor and avoiding the police.
"Don't lie to me, I would have got a call if you had detention." Mike tells me.
"Well they have trackers don't they, just ask them where I was." I argue, knowing that this tag was actually going to work in my favour.
"Teagen is actually telling the truth, the tag picks her location as being at Mossbury school at 4pm and shows her coming straight here afterwards." The policewoman says.
"However Teagen you have only two more chance, if you exceed this then you will be taken to a youth detention centre to carry out the rest of your sentence." The other officer tells me.
"But this wasn't even my fault, she's not even aloud to keep me for an hour without telling Mike." I argue.
"Well maybe you shouldn't have gotten yourself a detention in the first place knowing how much trouble your in." She tells me.
"I told you it wasn't even my fault." I say storming out of the office, no one ever listened to my side of the story.
It wasn't long before Mike came up and joined me in my room.
"What happened at school?" He asks looking more calm then he had done when I got home.
"I didn't get the work so I put my hand up but the teacher never came over and then when I did no work she got mad and gave me detention." I told him.
"Why wouldn't she come over. I know there is something you haven't told me, just be honest I can help you." He replies.
"I was tryna be funny at the beginning. I know it was stupid but I can't always help it." I reply.
"Well no wonder she wouldn't ask you again. Teagen you have to try and stop being the class clown."
"Well I had my hand up half the lesson how could she not notice. Besides she is not even aloud to give me detention without phoning you." I moan.
"I will have a word with the school, but you need to stop this Teagen. Stop mucking around, back chatting, making inappropriate comments, and stop distrusting lessons." He tells me.
God Mike was asking a lot. He looked over at me the serious look fading from his face, he furrowed his eyebrows and looked more worried now.
"Teagen what's going on with you lately? This isn't like you at all." He asked but I simply shrugged my shoulders.
"Is it about Liam?"
I shrugged again. Not because I didn't know because I didn't want to tell him, It was a little to do with Liam but It was also a lot more than that I didn't want to be picked on anymore and who would pick on the kid that was always in trouble.
A/N - Pls let me know what you think of it in the comments xx
