Side story 1
Host: "Please welcome back Lorena Schuett and Natsha Taechamongkalapiwat. The couple who received tremendous love from our audience in episode 1125."
Host: "In the previous episode, we learned that the two of you are expecting a new addition to the family. This journey doesn't seem like it will be easy. First of all, we have to talk about morning sickness, right? How did you get through that phase?"
Lorena: "I didn't have any."
Natsha: *Stares at the host with dark circles under her eyes*
==================================
The sound of dry retching every early morning had become a familiar routine. Natsha stepped out of the bathroom, her face visibly gaunt.
Lorena was still immersed in sleep. She was someone who would normally wake at the slightest sound. Yet ever since becoming pregnant, sleep clung to her like a sedative, pulling her under without a trace of restlessness.
In contrast, Natsha lay awake night after night, restless for no apparent reason.
Natsha's pallor had initially alarmed the household staff, though they gradually grew accustomed to it. Under normal circumstances, she was distant and composed, her presence sharp and commanding. The kind of aura that naturally drew others in. But now, she looked unmistakably like someone burdened with domestic life.
At the Taechamongkalapiwat Corporation, her subordinates assumed that Natsha was exhausted from taking care of the CEO of the Schuett Corporation and the future heir. That, they believed, was the reason for her "worn down" appearance. And while that assumption wasn't entirely wrong, it was only part of the truth. More precisely, Natsha was worn down because she was suffering from morning sickness, on behalf of the CEO of the Schuett Corporation.
==================================
"What about those sudden late night cravings?"
Lorena: *Glances toward Natsha*
Natsha: "Mm..."
==================================
Natsha was drifting in and out of sleep.
"Hot fish soup." Lorena murmured softly.
Natsha's half-lidded eyes snapped open at once, staring blankly up at the ceiling.
Lorena turned to look at her. Slowly, Natsha returned the gaze. They did not look into each other's eyes like the bright stars so often described in novels. There was only a quiet detachment, gradually blending together, forming a feeling that belonged to no one else.
//////////////////////////////////////
Natsha held the small paper container of fish soup. The rich aroma filled the air, yet she had to pinch her nose shut. It felt as though she was barely holding on.
The elderly butler, seated in the driver's seat, kept glancing at the rearview mirror. He had the unsettling feeling that his young mistress was close to reaching her limit. She looked as though she might "burst" at any moment.
Suddenly, Natsha set the soup aside, covering her mouth. She pulled out a black plastic bag and emptied the entirety of her dinner into it.
The old butler watched her quietly. Ever since the arrival of the little one, his young mistress had truly been through many things.
//////////////////////////////////////////////
By the time the fish soup finally made it home, Lorena had already fallen asleep. This was not the first time such a thing had happened. More precisely, it was a familiar performance with an ending that never changed. Even knowing this, Natsha still chose to run through the streets in the middle of the night, just to bring back what Lorena wanted.
Yet somehow, because of it, Natsha slept better every night.
==================================
Host: "Does it ever feel like a burden?"
Natsha: "Not at all. I sleep just fine."
Lorena: "She has trouble falling asleep."
Host: "Your love language is truly quite unique. Has there been any disruption to your daily life?"
Lorena: "Not really."
Natsha: "..."
==================================
Lorena pulled away from the kiss, one that had already begun to flare into something impossible to put out.
"The hormones are changing." Lorena said, her face completely expressionless. She looked at Natsha, shook her head lightly, then turned away and left.
Natsha remained standing there, unmoving. She blinked a few times, as if quietly contemplating life itself.
Watching the scene unfold, the old butler and the household staff felt both amused and sympathetic toward her. After all, it wasn't often that their young lady found herself in a situation like this.
==================================
Host: "You should already know the expected due date is..."
"HER WATER BROKE!!!" A staff member's scream echoed through the backstage area.
The entire backstage fell into chaos. Some people rushed to call an ambulance, others fainted from sheer panic.
"She doesn't seem to like confined spaces." Lorena said calmly, her expression unchanged.
Black-suited bodyguards appeared out of nowhere. A wheelchair was pushed over. Natsha helped her sit down, and they quickly left the scene.
"A girl? Did I just get another exclusive?" The host said amid the chaos, still managing to catch the key point as she turned to the camera.
