Drip Drip Drop ~ Chapter 14

          Juvia was racing down the streets looking for any sight of the two. Gajeel and Gray were no where to be found just like Revena and Dennis were. She didn't know where any of them were. She was walking down the path of the park when she finally started thinking of giving up on the search. It was not like she was risking the lives of innocent people. Just people that thought they could throw away their children from their lives and decide to come back after they suddenly realized they were wrong. So yeah no innocence there.

        "Well, what is there for Juvia to do?" Juvia said to herself with a sigh. She was looking around at all the strangers doing activities in the park and decided that it was a little to crowded for her comfort. She left the park and started walking down the sidewalk still looking for Gray and Gajeel but more calmly than when she started. Juvia sweat dropped when thinking of what she probably looked like from someone else's point of view. Juvia was starting to get hungry from her running and the rest of the events from today.

       Juvia walked a couple of blocks and turned down some corners before greeting her favorite shop. The shop sold the best cake ever and she also knew that the school president worked there on her free time since her family owned the shop. Walking into the bakery shop Juvia smiled when the smell of freshly backed goods hit her nose.

      "Ahhh....." Juvia sighed to herself as she went to take a seat.

 ~~~~~~~~~ In the Park within the crowd of Strangers~~~~~~
        "So, what did they tell you?" Gajeel asked in an annoyed voice as Lucy sat down the last plate of food and took her seat. Ignoring the loud crowd around them and Natsu's large and occasional arguments with Gray, Gajeel focused his attention on the information that Lucy was going to tell him.
         "It was more so that the husband speaking and after the wife had a little to many she started to add in and correct some things." Lucy laughed a bit. "The man, Dennis right? He spoke first because apparently he was light weight when it came to drinking. He only had two Champagne glasses and his mouth was on fire. The wife didn't come in to the room until later and she was on her fifth glass, at least that's what the waiter said."
         "Not the point Blondie. What did they say to you while they were off their rocks?"
       "Okay Okay. Let me tell you...."
            Lucy's P.O.V.
         I was walking in my pink meeting and greeting with Natsu by my side in a red dress shirt that was under his black suit. Walking from person to person, conversation to conversation, and face to face I was slowly trying not to lose my face. The greeting of this was meant to stand as picture that I could handle the business in the future after my father, so I was to be on my best behavior. Doing that was a little hard as well since Natsu kept making jokes about everyones outfits and the type of perfume that many people wore. He called it scent, but I just thought it was weird and funny to see his facial expression when the smell hit him. He wasn't wrong though these people smelled and looked weird, ver snooty I would say.
      "They smell like they swam in a Victoria Secret perfume container and bathed with more afterward. The smell is so strong it's burning my nose and don't get me started on the men's cologne." He whispered to me as he was holding his nose and glaring at the people's backs. Putting the back of my hand to my mouth to stop me from laughing as a real smile graced my face and I elbowed him in his side for the snide comments.
     "What? It's the truth." He laughed. "I know why we're hear but why put yourself through this torture. "
     "Natsu you already know that I value family and friendship to the point that my friends become my family. And this just so happened to be on of the many things I have to do for my family."
     "Fine."
        Natsu and I walked to the lounge and sat on the couch to take a break from the people and their 'scents'. Natsu had his arm around my shoulders as I leaned on to his chest and sighed trying to calm myself from the uncomfortableness it was to be around all those strangers that I had to be in contact with and guard in case they tried to trick me into something. As I calmed myself Natsu wrapped his other arm around my waist and was rubbing my back comfortably. The moment of time we spent alone was peaceful and calm until a man walked in with the facial of Gajeel.
        "Gajeel what are you doing-" I stopped speaking when the man turned around and appeared to indeed not be Gajeel. I turned my head into Natsu neck to hide the embarrassment on my face from the confusion. The man didn't seem to have notice us at all until he sat down so the likely of hearing my mistake in his name was very low. Well low enough to be forgotten.
      The man looked at us and gave a drunk smile.He didn't seem to know why he was in here because he kept looking around the room as if searching for something or wondering how he got there. All in all he just seemed lost.
      "Sir. Are you lost?" I asked. He settled his attention on me and I averted my gaze for a second before returning it despite feeling the urge to leave the room.
    "No. I was just looking for my wife. She seems to have gotten lost or whoring around somewhere for money that we already have." He spoke bitterly. He didn't seem drunk when spoke but the rest of him did. His posture, clothes, the walk he did when he came in the room, and even his facial expressions. But besides drunk he looked tired and that was a little concerning. What was he tired about. All the people here have been staying for over a month and all business things were meant to be terminated so that they could relax. At least that was what my father had told me when he sent me to this party.
    "You know she could be at least a little damn grateful. I got us this gig and all she had to do was look pretty and act caring so that we could get our damn money. Instead she in the hall galavanting with every swine in the hall that seems to have very expensive suits on than me." Natsu looked at him weirdly as if trying to figure out what he was talking about and why to us. He was going to say something but I put my hand on his chest and shook my head a little. It seemed like the man needed a load and talking may just help him.
       "If your wife is ungrateful why don't you just leave her." Natsu said bluntly.
      "I would but we need to be a couple for this job. We're not even really married at least not anymore. No. No. That ship sunk already and thank god too. Gosh now I remember why it didn't work out. It was this and some other things. When we were together she was horrible. She was selfish, inconsiderate, rude, sneaky and most definitely evil. We even had children together."
      I gasped. He had children with a woman that was like that. That poor man.
    "Don't get me wrong we used to be really close. We were together since high school and like most she was a lot different back then. But after he popped up things took took a whole left turn and up someone's ass. It was like she was showing her true colors for the first time. That or she was naturally great at acting."
       "What happened to your children then man?" Natsu questioned.
      The man sighed and wiped his hand down his face. "Well like I had said earlier she was horrible and even with the kids it was no better. She was always hitting one of them upside their head to the point they would cry. She just didn't seem to care. We weren't rich materially but we would have been rich in love if she tried. She always wanted to buy something new and her excuse was that she was getting tired of seeing her old rags in the closet. I tried appeal to her and make her happy but it was never enough. It was when I realized that it was never going to be enough that I just stopped buying things for her and only bought what was needed in the house to support the roof over our heads. And it was then that she started hitting the kids. And she only did it when I was at work so I never noticed until it was too late." He sighed in disappointment in himself.
    I myself was upset. What kind of mother would be so selfish and abusive to her children, I don't know. She only wanted things for herself that would never last. I'm glad my mother wasn't like that or I don't think I would cherish her memory at all. I looked over to Natsu as I felt him tense. The look in his eyes seemed deadly as the rest of him seemed pissed. Knowing that although he didn't know the woman he was just as upset as I was and maybe more so when I think about his past.
   "Where are your kids?"
    "They are about your ages. One was a boy and there was two girls. The oldest is far far away and thank goodness for that. If she had known she had younger siblings god help them. She was sent away before the other two were born so they wouldn't even know about her, thank goodness. She had the streak of personality like her mother and that wouldn't be good. And my name is Dennis, Dennis Redfox. And my wife's name is Revena Lockser. She is satan's apprentice in heels and let's just say that's not even the half of it."
     "She sounds like a horrible woman and I hope that I never get the chance to meet her." I said.
   "Didn't get the chance to meet whom?" A voice said. The three of us turned our heads to the door to see the questioner and it turned to be a blue haired woman that wore a crimson red cocktail dress with a slit up to her hips on the right. She wore hot red lipstick and mascara that made her light blue eyes pop. Dennis seemed to look bored when he saw her and leaned back in the chair annoyed.
    "What is it something I did, my love?" She said annoyed. "As per usual you seem to probably been drinking you light weight as per usual. Look like a drunk fart not knowing what to do with yourself."
    "I don't want to hear you and stop drinking that stuff I'm sure you've had more than enough." He commented.
     She looked anger by his comment when she noticed that we were watching the whole thing. She had her mouth open to give him a response to his comment before seeing us but instead closed her mouth from our attention and put on a smile. A smile that I was sure was nothing but fake.
    "I'm sorry. But this is only my sixth drink drink maybe and I can still hold up a conversation and stand without sway so I don't think that I have had my fill yet. Thank you for your concern though." She walked to him placing the glass on her drink on the table before sitting next to Dennis. I could see what she was trying to do. She was trying to assure us that they were having no problems in the relationship that they have for when we might blab to someone else about it and blow their cover. It seemed like it was going to work had we not heard about their relationship before hand.
      "So, what were you guys talking about." She said when she settled down next to Dennis and laid his hand on his knee with utmost casualness even though from his tense leg as a response to it my guard went up.
     "Oh nothing much jus-" I tried to cover up before Dennis interrupted me.
       "We were talking about Rain and the happiness on how she doesn't know that she has siblings. I was about to get to the part of the story on what you made me do to our last children." He said bitterly.
      "Why would you speak or even mention Rain. You know how that makes me feel."
     "Yes it makes you feel weird doesn't it? Knowing that it truly was you that got rid of her. She was fine but from the amount of beatings you gave because you didn't get what you wanted from me that she was taken away from you, at least that was what you said, but in reality you just sent her to live with your equally evil cousin."
     I fought myself to not to yell at her for what she did but I wanted to listen to the rest of this.
   "Well what about you?! You pretty much dragged me on this job. Something about because it helps us reconnect with our long sold children. Yeah right you just finally got the balls to go and visit."
     "I wouldn't have to get the balls if you didn't make that stupid deal with the man you screwed behind my back to sell our children! I wanted to reconnect with our children so that I could get them back and we could live without you and in peace. When we finish this job I am dropping you and we are not going to talk anymore and you can go crawling back to the whole I dug you from." He said annoyed.
     "If you think that you can cross him you are fairly mistaken. He will end you. He will make you into his little bitch and the only think you can do after he had broken you is follow him and hope that nothing angers him to set him off and he beats on you." She hit upside his head and took another swallow of her drink before calling for a refill. Natsu stared at Dennis and I just looked at the woman as she yelled and cursed at Dennis for his stupidity.
     "I wanted our children to have a happy life. You decided that sleeping with a man that could give you anything and everything meant more to you than your children. I wanted nothing more than to leave you and kill you in that moment. I am not surprised that Bora dropped you after he found out that you were nothing but a gold digger. And on to the next man you went, Ivan, and here we are now. Since we had a past he decided that it was right for us to be working together. Don't get it twisted honeybee we are separating once we get our kids back and leave." Dennis spoke with finality.
      "And how do you supposed we do that? They don't even want to talk to us. Besides you know that Ivan wants Juvia and if we don't deliver he will kill us both."
     "I'm not giving that sadistic bastard my daughter to save our skin. I will be leaving somewhere far enough they won't find us."
    "You mean our daughter last time I checked I gave birth to both of them and deserve to have a stay in their accommodations."
      "You will have no say in what happens to them since you want to give them to your crazy boyfriend. Not while I'm still breathing and as far as I'm concerned they don't have a mother." With that Dennis walked away leaving me and Natsu with Revena. Her face red with anger and intoxication. Knowing that she wouldn't remember our faces from this night I decided to say something now.
      "As a mother you should be ashamed of yourself. I hope your children grow to be amazing so when you see them in the future being the best they could be and having a great life you feel terrible for not being apart of it. Come on Natsu this room has gotten a little too dark for my taste." Natsu and I walked out of the room hand and hand with our other hands balled up in fists from anger.
_____________
Regular POV
   "Wow" said Gray and he turned to Natsu with a surprised expression on his face. "YOU stayed quiet for that long. I think that's a new record."
   "Thanks for the info blondie and thanks for the dig to Revena that makes me feel a bit good." Gajeel said as he stood up from the blanket ignoring the wrestling Natsu and Gray. "I need to go find Juvia so that we can speak about this new found information. I will talk to you all later when something else comes up. Gray you coming?"
      "Yeah give me a sec-" He said quickly as he ducked and gave a punch to Natsu and received a kick to his side. After about five more minutes they stopped and Natsu came out victorious before Gray got and walked with Gajeel to find Juvia.
 {Walking into the Hotel}
    "WHERE IS SHE??!"
     They found the manager and the receptionist laying in the office making out on the floor. Rolling around without knowing that Gajeel and Gray were just walking in until Gajeel came in and started yelling at them.
    "We don't know she made it seem as if she climbed out the window but instead waited for us to leave the room and then we were locked inhere by her." The receptionist spoke.
   "Ugh now we have to go find her." Gray groaned.
    "She is starting to become more and more troublesome each day. Well, at least I know life won't be boring." Gajeel sighed before walking with Gray outside and started searching the streets for Juvia.
