i am utterly dismayed
at the state of the world
i am living in
and growing increasingly horrified
by the words scribbled
on the broadcasts from people
i have always cared about
cruelty runs deeper than
i could have imagined
and i am truly speechless
opinion-less, and nauseated
by the hatred from many mouths
i cannot even choose a side
i am dismayed and confused
and i will go to bed terrified
and longing for comfort
i know myself alone
cannot provide
