Chapter Six
The shadows of the dark seemed to engulf the room in an almost suffocating blackness. Metal chains were tight against pale flesh and the scent of blood danced in the air and painted the chains in a dark rust. Thick red dots littered the neck while the head hung low with messy black hair damp with sweat.
A blinding light flashed into the room as a man stepped inside but left as quickly as it had come once the door shut behind him. Plunged into the dark the man stepped forward and peered at the body of the young male hanging off the wall.
"I never expected to see a seraph," he spoke, "To find you so easily is quite a surprise."
The man smiled lightly and turned away to approach a table. Thin long needles were placed next to each other with each one with a different colored liquid inside of it. He hummed and ran his fingers over the many different needles until resting on a pink colored syringe. With almost delicate precision he picked up the needle and turned again and approached the male hanging loosely.
He continued to hum a soft melody as he pressed the needle into the flesh of the neck and inserted the liquid into the body. When he removed the syringe he watched in mild curiosity.
For a moment nothing happened. Then, without warning, a fierce growl rumbled in the throat of the body before an ear piercing scream rang out.
The chains rattled violently as the pale skin dug itself into the chains and shook it to break free. The messy black hair was thrown back and the screams continued. A dark substance, almost like blood, dripped down the eyes painting the entirety black.
"Don't overexert yourself. You'll be free soon enough," he replied.
The screams quieted down as the body grew limp. But the stillness was only for a moment. Long, tree like blackness sprouted from his back like wings and he lifted his head and tilted it suddenly.
"I'll kill you. All of you will be punished."
The voice was dark and booming with an almost foreign echo and the chains only seemed to rattle harder as the flesh pressed against it, turning the skin red with irritation.
"I see. Well, when you get the chance to punish us be sure to keep your body intact. Countless experiments have been conducted on you and I doubt your body will be able to handle such stress. You're a tool that hasn't been taken care of properly."
"I'll kill you all. All of the sinners must die. Nothing will be left."
"Very good. Now if only I could get that sort of motivation out of the others. The rest seem to be rather troublesome to awaken."
"Die. All of you must die."
"If you can kill me you're more than welcome to. I think death would be quite an experience."
"Sinners must die!"
He screamed again, only this time his wrists broke free of the chains and he lunged himself at the man. There was a smile on the man's lips, and it was obvious that he was thoroughly entertained. The man held out his hand and the male was sent flying back as if an invisible force had hit him.
A low growl escaped from his lips before a weapon materialized in his hand. He pointed it and instantly a beam shot out from its tip.
There was only a moment for the man to move out of the way, and once he moved, the spot he had been was obliterated as well as the wall. Nothing was left but a pile of what appeared to be ashes and a stream of sunlight.
Without wasting time the male spread his black wings and sped through the opening and into the sky, leaving behind the man and the destruction.
"Oh dear, it escaped," The man said wryly.
He kept his grin and his golden eyes on the ever fading figure of the seraph until he was no longer in sight. Then he turned away and stared at the other two males suspended from chains still securely stuck in place.
He hummed again before turning away and opening the door to the room and silently departing.

"Finally! A challenge worthy of Ore-sama!" Ayato shouted, a look of glee on his face.
He tossed Shinoa and grinned wide, his eyes gleaming with joy. It was only a matter of seconds before he attacked the creature, unconcerned with the strange blackness that dripped from it's body.
Shinoa groaned and sat up, trying to comprehend what just happened. When she finally focused on what was in front of her she gasped.
"Y-yuu?!"
"What the hell is that thing?" Subaru snapped.
There was an obvious look of discomfort on his face and he looked to her skeptically.
"You said it's name," he said, "so tell me what it is. You know that thing don't you?"
She gulped and feigned a look of innocence. "I have no idea."
She looked away in an effort to seem more believable, however there was no mistaking it; that creature was Yuichiro.
A part of her was thankful that he wasn't dead, but the other part of her was confused. She had never seen him look like that before. Granted, they hadn't known each other for long, but it was not something that was normal.
There was the idea that the vampires had done something to him, but she doubted that. No, whatever was causing Yuichiro to become a monster was something else entirely.
Yuichiro was mindless, his eyes black and soulless. The wings on his back were dripping with a darkness and in his hand was a spear like weapon of a dark grey matter.
He was screaming something and was using his claws as opposed to the spear, trying to pierce through Ayato's chest.
Ayato was laughing and seemed completely at bliss fighting the black form of Yuichiro, so much so that he seemed to forget Subaru and Shinoa's presence completely.
"That thing's only going after that idiot," Subaru said, "So if you go now then you should be able to escape."
Instantly Shinoa's head snapped up and she stared at him bewilderedly.
"E-excuse me?" She asked, hoping her ears weren't deceiving her.
"Do you want to be Ayato's toy?" He retorted sarcastically, "Or do you want to go back to the humans?"
She blinked at him and remained quiet.
Subaru's expression darkened, "If you stay with us you're going to die. Ayato is stubborn so he'll make sure that you're dead. Now is your only chance to escape. So go."
Shinoa was confused. Subaru was a vampire so he had to have wanted humanity to be enslaved and yet here he was telling her to escape. It had to be a trick.
"What are you sitting there for? Go, before he notices you're gone!"
She scrambled to her feet and almost stumbled over in her haste to rise. She gave him one more look of disbelief before she stepped back and turned to run.
He wasn't following her, and though Shinoa hated to abandon Yuichiro, right now it was all she could do. She was defenseless, weaponless and useless in the grand scheme of things. Without her scythe, Shikama Doji, there was no way for her to do anything else but run.
Please don't die, she said to herself.
Subaru's eyes softened as he watched her run and he turned away to watch Ayato fight that monster. Though Ayato didn't struggle against it, Subaru couldn't help but feel as though the monster wasn't actually using it's full strength. For some reason, it was holding back.
A noise tickled Subaru's ears and he turned to glance around. It was coming fast almost like the rumble of a car.
"More humans," Subaru muttered.
He narrowed his eyes and glanced back at Ayato. As usual he was completely ignoring his surroundings and enjoying himself.
"Oi dumbass! The humans are coming!"
As expected, Ayato ignored him and Subaru growled before looking towards the sound.
He could see the outline of the vehicle speeding towards them and watched as the occupants immediately jumped out of the car and raced towards him. It was obvious they were armed with cursed gear.
"Damn it. Why is it always me stuck dealing with this shit?" Subaru spat.
