Chapter 1: Fallen Down
Chara screamed in pain, her blood draining from her body as little shards of rocks her hinged in her side from the fall. She looked around "H-help..." she whimpered as she looked around in the darkness for any sign off life.
"Are you okay miss?" asked a small voice in the short distance between Chara and a pillar. "You look hurt, do you need help" asked a small goat child in robes who was holding a watering can for the flowers, which where now stained a deep crimson red due to Chara's blood.
"Y-yes, please" asked Chara before blacking out from pain and blood loss. A panicked looking Asriel picked up the human, and fled to his home. "Mother! A human is hurt!" he exclaimed, bursting into the living room as fast as his legs could carry him.
Toriel looked up from her book "Asgore, go get the first aid. Asriel, lay her down." she said in a serious tone. Asriel nodded and laid down Chara's small body, while Toriel inspected the wound. Asgore ran back in with a small case of medical supplies "Here you go Tori" he handed her the case.
She flashed a quick smile, before grabbing the tweezers, and picking out the small chunks of rock from Chara's abdomen. Chara began crying out in pain "Agh... Ah-AHHHHH" she began sobbing in pain. "It hurts!"
Toriel looked at the miserable child sympathetically "I know it hurts, but it needs to be done so you don't get an infection" she tried to reassure Chara as much as she could.
Asriel took Chara's hand "Squeeze when it hurts, It always helps when I go to get my shots." Chara nodded and squeezed his hand tight when ever the smooth and sharp prick of tweezers took another sliver of rock out of her small body.
"There we are" she smiled at Chara as she disinfected the wound, and put a bandage on it "Good as new!" She looked at Asriel "Thank you darling, can you take her to your room for the night? She definitely needs some rest."
Asriel nodded "Okay mom" he picked up the now sleeping Chara and walked to his room. "Here we are, make yourself at home." he whispered in her ear as he layed her down on his bed and tucked her in "Hope you feel better in the morning." He then walked back into the living room to finish cleaning.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~THE NEXT DAY~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Chara awoke in the strange red room "Hmm? Where am I..." she wondered out loud, as if on cue a knock was heard at the door "Child? Are you awake?" Toriel's soft motherly voice asked from the opposing side of the door "Uh yeah, I'm up!" she sat up.
Toriel smiled happily and opened "Thank the heavens, you had us worried." she hugged her. "U-umm... goat woman, my side" she winced in agony. "O-oh i'm sorry!" she let go quickly "I forgot about that, hows that feeling?" she asked, trying to break the ice.
"It's feeling a lot better, thanks!" she smiled in gratitude. "I'm Chara, what's your name?" she extended a hand. "I'm Toriel" she smiled and shook the child's hand. "If you don't mind me asking..." Chara began "Where am I?" she asked
"Oh, you're in the Underground. It's where your kind exiled us after the war." she smiled and patted her head. Chara looked down "Oh... sorry, humans suck" she began. Toriel smiled lightly "Don't you worry your head over such things my child, I don't think all humans are so bad.
Chara looked up at her "O-oh, okay" she got up "Umm... does anyone else live here?" she asked softly. Toriel's eyes lit up "Oh! I completely forgot about the others, would you like to go meet them?" Chara nodded, excited to meet the others.
Toriel took Chara's hand, and guided her through the castles winding hallways "Right this way my child..." she smiled lightly at Chara's eagerness. Chara looked around "You live here?!" she sounded astounded by the fact she was in a real castle at the moment.
Toriel and Chara eventually made their way down to the living room, where Asgore and Asriel were playing Dungeons and Dragons with Gaster. "HA! I ROLLED A 20 HAND OVER ALL YOUR GOLD DAD!"
Asgore looked at Gaster, who was being the Dungeon Master at the moment "He can't do that right?" Gaster looked through the rule book "He can" Asgore shot a playful glare Asriel's way.
"Umm boys?" Toriel knocked on the door to the living room, scaring the daylights out of Asgore "Tori! When did you get here?" This caused Asriel and Toriel to start laughing uncontrollably.
"Hey..." Chara said awkwardly, not wanting to ruin the family moment. Toriel spun around "Oh, yes, I'd like you all to meet Chara." Chara gave an awkward wave "Hello..."
Asriel waved back "Hiya" Asgore looked at Chara "Welcome to our home Chara!" he picked her up and put her on his shoulder, making her laugh "What are you doing?" she asked between laughs.
"Oh nothing..." he said innocently, as Asgore picked up Asriel and put him on his other shoulder. "Dad, really?" Asriel chuckled. "Yes son, really. Man you two are really light. What do they feed you up there Chara?" he joked. Gaster was particularly interested in the human, and had taken notes from afar. "Hey, see you later guys. I'm gonna head home." Gaster smiled and packed up the game. Then disappeared without a trace.
"Woah! How did he do that?!?" exclaimed Chara, curiosity swelling in her voice. "Oh yeah, you're gonna wanna get used to Gaster doing that." sighed Asriel. Toriel giggled at the two "Why don't I go make dinner?" Toriel suggested. Asgore nodded happily, along with Asriel. Toriel smiled "Okay King fluffybuns, what should I make?" she smiled at Asgore.
"Hmm... how about Breakfast for dinner?" he asked happily. Asriel squealed happily "OOOOOOH YES! DO THAT MOM" Chara smiled happily at the family. Glad that they weren't what hers was.
