Charlee arrived at the hospital with Max and Rachel. Esmè was with Max's mother.

"Harper Mason. Where is she?" Rachel asked as she looked the receptionist. "Well?"

"She's in ICU. If you follow me, I'll take you up there," she said as she looked at the family.

Max grabbed Charlee's arm. "She is the reason we almost lost our daughter. I don't want her near Esmè," he said.

"Get stuffed Max. She is my sister and if I want her in Esmè's life, then she will be," Charlee spat as she walked off.

Max rolled his eyes. He knew that he wanted revenge on Charlee for walking out. But at the same time, he wanted to win back Charlee.

Charlee and Rachel were standing outside. Max looked at her and sighed. "I'll go and fetch Esmè from my mother and then I'll come back if you want me to?" He asked.

Charlee nodded. "Yeah. Please. I don't think I want to be alone with my mum. I can't be handling her," she told him.

"Okay."

Rachel and Charlee walked into Harper's room. They saw her hooked up to different machines. She didn't like their Harper. It was horrid.

Charlee wiped away some of her tears. She looked at her mum. "You need to do more to be there for her. She is so vulnerable and innocent and she needs you more than the school does."

Rachel rolled her eyes. "Do you expect me to take time away for Max Tyler to get his claws into my school?" She asked.

"It's a school! Get a grip mum! Harper is more important than anything right now. You need to put more focus onto her then being a headmistress," Charlee said.

Eddie arrived at the hospital. He walked over to Rachel, Charlee and Max. He frowned when he saw Max there. "What's going on?"

"She's in ICU. She isn't doing too good. They have to keep an eye on her because they don't think she'll make it through the night," Rachel said.

Eddie nodded. He walked over to Rachel. "Why is Max here?"

"Don't ask."

Charlee looked at them. "Max is here because he is the father of my daughter and Harper's niece. He cares about her too. So if you have a problem with that, take a hike," she said.

The doctor came out and looked at the group of people. "I'm afraid that we have to take Harper for an operation. She has a bleed on her brain and if we don't sort it, we will lose her."

Rachel nodded and sighed. She knew that any operation on Harper would potentially kill her. But she needed to help her daughter. "Do the operation. For my girl."

The doctors were having a battle on their hands. The bleeding was getting out of control and they couldn't stop it.

The surgeon looked around at everyone. "She has a family waiting for her. She can't die," he said as he looked around.

"There's nothing more we can do."

The surgeon nodded. He looked at the clock. "Time of death..."
