Third Person's POV
Mia rang the bell for like the nth time when the door to her house opened revealing a half naked Charolette in her body. She curbed the weird feeling in her stomach seeing herself and then Nick appeared behind her, shirtless. Okay, now she wanted to puke. "Aww, I missed you!" Charolette engulfed Mia as she reciprocated the hug. I could really use a friend. She thought.
Mia settled down in her house and it was a pleasant surprise that Charolette had already told Nick about the entire situation and he strangely believed it. "When she openly flirted with me that night, I knew it was not you," he chuckled. Mia didn't want to ask Charolette if she had sex with him in her body. The mere thought of it disgusted her. Her best friend who she thought was gay, for like a long time? Ugh....
Let's be positive. She told herself.
"So? What happened? You seemed quite.... I don't know, frazzled," Charolette settled down opposite to her, Nick by her side.

Three Weeks later
Nathan was wrapping up the documents for the night. He had been working like shit for the past few weeks. He couldn't get his mind off of everything. He couldn't take it anymore, not after he found out the truth. The only solution that came into his mind was to drown himself in work and never look back. He was too coward to face the reality, to face the possibility of never seeing her again. He knew how pathetic his life had been without her, but now, he was dying inside. And he hated himself for being too coward about it.
"I need to know the truth! How long are you planning to hide it from me!?" Nathan seethed pacing up and down in his father, Brady Moore's study.
"You said she was dead dad! And I believed you," his eyes were teary, dark circled and he just couldn't take it anymore. His father pinched the bridge of his nose sighing as he motioned his son to sit down. It was indeed the time for him to know the truth.
"Nathan, my child, I have always been proud of you. But it's the time that you know the truth," he said with a grave expression on his face. Nathan stiffened at the apprehension of the impending disaster as he sat down and waited for his father to continue.
"You are not really my biological son, Nathan. You see, you are a bit special," he tried to explain but only to earn a frown and an evident downpour from outside.
"What... What are you trying to say? I don't understand," he said puzzled.
"As strange as it sounds, twenty seven years ago when you were still a baby, your gave you to me. As for you being special, you can control weather. By your emotions. It came from your mother, she could control the elements that made up the earth. She could control plants and their growth, just like you."
"That's... That's not true. It's impossible. How come I've never noticed it? Are you bullshitting me!? I can't control anything." Brady ignored Nathan's hysteria.
"Your father entrusted me for your safety. You were in danger, from the second you were born. Gods had bestowed immense power in you. You could change the fate of Fornitimpuria-"
"What!?"
"Be patient. Anyways, I taught you to control your emotions, be indifferent. But everything changed when you met that girl. She stirred all the emotions in you. There'd be sunshine some days and storms on others in New York. I was scared that they'd find you. So, I did what I had to do. But I couldn't get myself to kill her. It wasn't her fault after all. And she truly loved you!" He paused checking if Nathan was still listening,"So I scared her. Told her I'd kill her family if she came near you. And she was just a kid, got scared and ran away. Promised me that you'd never have to see her ever again. That sweet girl loved her family. She must've done her parents proud," he said apologetically.
"I.. my parents, are they alive?" Nathan sniffed barely.
"I don't know, your mother almost died giving birth to you and your father.... I never saw him again after your mother gave you to me."
"I... I need to find her, Mia!"
"I can't stop you now," Brady said calmly.
"Who are those people you tried to protect me from all these years?"
"It's best if you don't know. They are not people Nathan, they are beasts, worse then hell," Brady warned truthfully. For a second Nathan didn't believe him but he had never seen his father's eyes so intense and fearful.
Nathan turned to ask one final question.
"Is this possible.... That bodies can be exchanged?"
"Of course, people like you, from Fornitimpuria can. You see, it's a hidden piece of land on earth where all mystical people such as you are born. Everyone has different powers, the ones who have inherited it can use them since infancy while the others who have been there and bore enormous pain, physical, mental, emotional.... realise them later. You see, we all have our powers but only few realise them, feel them and are strong enough to bear the pain on using them. It all depends on our conscience, our beliefs and our karma. God decides who gets to use these and who doesn't," Nathan quietly nodded still taking in everything.
"Why do you ask?" Brady said.
"Mia might be like me," Nathan said and left.
_____________
As he drove to nowhere everything seemed to be clear now. All the clear days when they were together and all the stormy nights when they fought. He never remembered both of them making up under the sun or peaceful weather. There'd be rain, always, harsh rains. He remembered her mentioning about the flowers blooming. He remembered the storm after his mother died (not birth mother). The same day he found that Mia had died, breaking her promise to him. A promise that she'd be his and with him, forever. He remembered how the hailstorm lasted for ten days and Disaster Management Team was appointed in New York for the first time in history. And the excruciating pain he felt when she left. Those days were worse than death for him. It was because he used his powers unknowingly. But did she feel the pain too?
Everything made sense and yet he had never found himself so helpless and confused. But if Mia was inside Charolette's body, then how could she not remember him. He couldn't explain a lot of things. What was he supposed to do now?
He dialed Mark's number.
"Hey, bro what's up?"
"I need to find Mia, I need to find her. You knew a someone good at finding people. Find her!" Nathan said hanging up.

Present
There was a slight knock on office door. "Come in," Nathan answered. His mind was not in anything these days. He had been waiting for a week for any news now. But he couldn't wait anymore. He'd go to her parents' house. He was to leave tomorrow. He finally diverted his attention to the door and the whole world stopped.
Mia's POV
It killed me seeing him like this. His face was pale and lifeless, his eyes were weary and dark circles. He had grown thinner and his spectacles were hanging on his thin nose.
"Mia," he barely whispered as I ran to him wrapping my arms around him and so did he, around my waist.
"I'm so sorry. I was stupid I... I left you. I love you so much. It was the toughest choice I ever had to make. Nathan, I promise I'd never wanted to do it.... But... But your dad," she sobbed in his chest, holding him ever so tightly as he shushed her, picking her up. She involuntarily wrapped her legs around his waist as he settled her down on his desk.
"I know the truth. It's not your fault. I'm sorry for not coming after you. I... I thought I had lost you forever, and it killed me." Both of them were a sobbing mess now.
"You see, when I left you, I practically went crazy. They said it was just a heartbreak but it was so much more. I couldn't bear it. It was worse than death. It was so much more," Mia sniffled a laugh wiping Nathan's tears away. So she felt it too. Nathan thought.
"I couldn't sleep, eat, study... I couldn't do anything. So I did, the worst thing I could ever do. I forgot you. I had heard about a famous hypnotherapy. I got myself hypnotised to forget you and it worked. I survived. " She said lookin in his eyes, "but I can't imagine your pain. I forgot you but you didn't. I'm so sorry Nate, you had to go through that alone.... While I just enjoyed my life like nothing ever happened. I... I deserved that heartbreak, that hurt and that burden. You can do whatever you want but don't push me away. I won't be able to survive." He shook his head at the mere thought of pushing her away and cupped her cheeks.
He just stared blankly at her which made her worry. He finally took her hand in his and saw the promise ring he had given her 7 years ago. Mia saw his gaze and said,"I never had the courage to take it off. Something inside me always told me to hold onto it," she smiled as she could now remember that evening vividly. When he made me his. She thought.
"I love your voice," he barely whispered closing the distance between them. She pulled him closer as if her life depended on it. They spent that night in his office, touching each other in all possible ways. They didn't know how much they had missed each other and were determined to give each other seven years of love that they had missed out.
The intensity of emotions was overwhelming and the void in their hearts was finally filling. Life had been treating them as a joke but they had finally found a way back to each other. Nathan pushed Mia on the desk, lips never leaving her as her started peppering kisses along her jaw line. They were passionate and intense, gentle and demanding at the same time. She threw her head back in pleasure memorizing his touch.
They both knew they couldn't wait anymore, so they didn't.
The storm outside had subsided and the weather became quaint and moon shone brightly.
Whatever might be the consequence, they were in it together.
