A/n : Okay, I know it's a bit abrupt and most of you may not like it but it is getting good and all the pieces of the puzzle will come together.
Tbh, I was really sad looking at the drop in the views of last two chapters. I thought there'd be at least ten. Anyhow, please do tell me if you're not liking it or if I going haywire. 😅😥😥😥. HELP ME!!!

Mia woke up three days later. Her mother was relieved as she thought she had lost her daughter again. Charolette had fainted the very next moment Mia had, three days ago but she woke up, a few hours later, in her own body. Now that Mia was awake and their bodies had swapped again, rightful spirit in rightful body, the reason of all the tension had disappeared. But had it? Although Mia was more than elated to have herself back but now she was at crossroads struggling on the matter of her entire 26 year old existence.
After Charolette had gained consciousness, Martha had sent her off not wanting to bother the ignorant girl of the shit that was about to go down. Martha was mentally prepared to answer all the questions Mia had but to her surprise, she said nothing. Just stared at the ceiling. "Is there a way to regain my memories? I really don't want to body swap again. Maybe I'll find something, that'll help me control my powers," she said half heartedly. In the deepest darkest corners of her inner self, she knew that Nathan might be the only real person in her life, who hadn't manipulated her. And it saddened her that she couldn't remember him, the time she spent with him.
"Are you sure honey, it's really dangerous?"
"I'm sure mom. I want to do this. I assume there is a way," Mia smiled weakly. Her body was still aching and her head was pounding as if someone was hammering it as she realised the physical toll of this power. "We can call the hypnotherapist, if you want." She proposed hesitantly.
"That'd be great."
The hypnotherapist had set an appointment two days later in Boston. Mia spent the next two days resting mostly. She caught up with her mother who had shut herself from Mia after Matthew's demise. Mia told about her divorce which reminded her of setting a meeting with her lawyer. She told her about the headaches, those flashes and her short stay at New York.
Nathan's reaction at the mention of Mia's name had scared her to the bones but when she told her mother about it she had a calm and obvious look on her face to which Mia replied snarkily as of how her own mother sided with some stranger. Martha was relieved when she heard the news of divorce as she chided her daughter to never hurry in such matters ever again. Martha didn't like Jeremy at all but she kept quiet knowing that it might be the only chance of her daughter having a happy life and this marriage might make her forget everything so that there is no chance for the pain to take over.
But what Martha didn't know was the fact that Mia and Nathan had long been held to each other by a contract of love and blood whereby, if they were ever separated, they'd find their way back to each other. Nobody knew that. Not even Nathan and Mia.

"The consequences of this cognitive therapy are unknown and may have unknown implications, leading to mental illness , schizophrenia or may be even fatal. I'm asking you again, are you sure you want to go ahead with it?" The hypnotherapist, Dr. Balmer enquired.
"Yes," Mia gave a confident nod as the doctor ushered Martha outside and began with the therapy, soft mellow music for her to concentrate as he spared little details on the way to help her remember. According to him, Mia knew everything but that was stored in the subconscious part of the brain which was rarely active. The night she got suspended and found her husband's affair had caused her to be in deep emotional and mental breakdown and her powers took control in the moment of need and teleported her soul subconsciously far away from the source of distress. It was a sort of coping mechanism, according to him. But it was a sheer coincidence, rather the destiny of the contract that she ended up being so close to Nathan.
In the middle of the session, Mia started convulsing in her chair as her heart sped up. But a fighter she was, it soon came back to normal. The session had went way smoother than expected. Mia came back with her mother the next day. The next seven days were especially rough for her. She could remember her childhood and Nathan in bits and pieces but her mind was an exhausted mess.
She'd often get lost in her own house, the house she spent eight years of childhood, she would zone out for hours and faint at times. Her mother tended to her constantly which left her tired by night. Nights were another reason of worry. Mia would have nightmares, sudden excruciating pains in the chest and convulsions which though happened rarely, but were frightening.
Now she had remembered everything about Nathan, she was back to the half dead state she was in, seven years ago. She hated it. What was wrong in her body? It was like a little piece of her was dying everyday. She longed for him even more and it pained her as to how she left things with him.
A week after she had gained control over her body and mind, she decided to wrap up her marriage in Miami and go back to New York. She had shifted her residency program to a New York hospital although it meant she had to start the course all over again, and this time she chose Surgery and now she was ready to move halfway across America.
She was in a dilemma about how to approach Nathan. She knew she couldn't possibly live without him and it was for the sake of her own sanity that she decided to take such a big step in her life. She loved him, there was no denying it. But did he still love her?
