Jiyeong slides the sliding doors that separates us from Dusk Light Pack and when the doors are finally open, Dusk Angel Pack is staring at us. I watch their alignment, and notice that Jeongguk is standing in the middle. He moves forward and takes his place in the arena.
He stands across from me.
"We will stop the game when one of you surrenders. I wish you both the best of luck." The loud sound of horn beeping that signal the start of our fight sends me flying towards Jeongguk, ready to throw my weight into a punch. As my body shifts forward, Jeongguk's eyes widens in alert, and he ducks my punch by flinging himself to the left and drives his fist into my stomach. I let out a painful moan and fall towards the floor and stay there. In an impulse, Jeongguk sticks his leg out and kicks me. Or would have kicked me, if I hadn't caught his foot and yanked it forward, knocking him off-balance. Jeongguk stumbles before falling on his back as it slams onto the ground with a loud sound. I take this opportunity to quickly scramble back to my feet and position my hands up, ready for his next attack.
Jeongguk pushes himself up with the help of his forearm. His face wears an unsatisfied scowl; he runs at me and before I know it, I'm being tackled to the floor by him. In my head, I hear Namjoon's voice, telling me to just give up instead of hurting myself; but I don't listen. Instead, I let Jeongguk punch me in the eye and then I quickly block his punch with my forearm before harshly nudging him in the stomach with my elbow. I push Jeongguk off of me roughly before stumbling around as I try to regain my balance, not knowing that Jeongguk has already recovered from my previous blow. When I turn around, Jeongguk punches me in the ribs with such a force that knocked the air right out of my lungs, and I slump to the ground in pain, trying to recover my breath. I groan in pain when I take in a deep breath and that's when Jiyeong stops us. "Stop this fight now. Taehyung, get up the floor, the fight is over."
"No it's not," I say.
All eyes—including Jeongguk's— turn to face me, and I push myself up before facing the crowd. "It's not over until I say so."
"Taehyung, you are in no condition to fight. I do not want any of my students getting hurt," Jiyeong reprimands in a stern tone but I shake my head. "Please just let us continue," I beg. I do not want to look like a weakling in front of Jeongguk, and if I just let him win so easily, then that is just embarrassing myself. Jiyeong hesitates for a moment before saying, "Fine."
I watch Jeongguk ready himself into a fighting positon and I can't help but to wonder. What is it that he isn't protecting? What his flaw in combat? I watch his hands, they are too low, and they only guard his abdomen.
Our eyes meet for a second.
I lurch forward and aim for his nose. My fist slams against his nose bridge, and sound of bone cracking can be heard. Jeongguk staggers backwards before kicking my legs and sweeping it out from under me, and I fall hard onto the ground, again. Jeongguk pulls his foot back and kicks my ribs as hard he can. I try to grab his leg but he moves too fast and before I know it, I'm being tossed in the air like a rag doll. I land on the ground face first and blood starts springing out from my nose and spreads over my face. So much for being a fighter.
I slowly start feeling my eyes droop close no matter how hard I try to pry them open. I remember Jeongguk apologising to me frantically and the feeling of strong arms curling around my waist and neck and lifted me off the ground, comforting me as sparks ignites with every touch.
And then, everything went blank.
√a.n.
I'm so unsatisfied with this chapter, this book, my other books and my basically my account in general.
I can't even do the simplest thing such as being aesthetic or a good writer.
