QUOTE #20

So I'm not sure if this technically qualifies as a quote or if it's more of just a fact but it's definitely inspiration so I'm going to use it anyways :D

I came across this just last night and I immediately fell in love with its meaning because of how much I needed to hear it myself.

I've always been a bit...okay maybe more than a bit...of a perfectionist. Often times I'm way harder on myself than I should be, and hold myself up to impossible standards. I'll look at myself and only see all of my faults, and hate myself for not being perfect. Or I'll study something that I have done and immediately start picking out all of the mistakes, berating myself for it not being flawless.

Then last night I read this, and I'm not saying that it completely "fixed" or "healed" me of my perfectionism, but I have begun to really try and see things in a new and better light.

Maybe I have a rippled purple scar on my leg form my muscle biopsy, so what? All it does is make me more beautiful by marking my skin with one of the many battles I've fought and won. It is a part of my story.

Maybe I didn't get a perfect score on the science test I took, so what? I still made a really good grade. But even if I didn't, what kind of a person you are is way more important than some silly letter grade on a test you'll forget in 5 years anyways. I want my story to be more important than high school science tests.

Next time you get down on yourself, try to remember that all of your flaws are just another special part of the amazing and beautiful human being that you are. I know I will.

We are all golden and unique, and that is way better than being plain and boring.

This quote is dedicated to Fall_Leaves07 you are so beautiful and kind and funny and GOLDEN and I hope you know that <3
