Frederick

The air whipped your (h/l) (h/c) back behind your shoulder as it was your mission to lead the enemy away from the castle. Chrom wish he could have come but you told him to wait inside the castle in case anything when wrong. This got him thinking about your safety and sent Frederick to watch over you safety.

You were getting closer and closer to where the enemy was, until Frederick stopped you in his tracks. "(y/n) wait!"

"What? Revenants nearby?!"

"Worst, your laces are untied."

He bends down and fixed the untied laces from your boots. You just stared at him before he got up with a happy face. "Good. Now a life won't be taken today."

"Really Frederick, I'm not Chrom."

"Excuse me?"

"Meaning I'm not wanting to get babied around all the time. Just because Chrom sent you with me to fight off this enemy doesn't mean its fine for you to baby me."

Frederick stayed quiet for a while before turning on his heels and walking off. You felt a bang of guilt inside but what you said was the truth and Frederick needed to know it. Rain started to gather around the battle field as you yelled at people to go this direction and battle this monster.

Frederick was killing it out there; monsters didn't stand a chance against him. It took a long time but the battle was finally over as your plan worked once again.

"Alright everyone head back to the castle! We won once again!"

Everyone cheered as they started marching back to the castle. You smiled, but it soon disappeared as you noticed Frederick was missing. In search you looked all over the battle field, stepping over dead monsters.

"Frederick! Where are you! We won!"

Silence.

Worry started gathering inside you as you looked all over. He wasn't there, here, or anywhere. Panic filled your senses up completely as you didn't notice the Revenant who was only half dead, rise back up.

You saw from the corner of your eyes and when to dodge, but only dodged half of its attack as it slashed a good half of your chest. Your eyes widen at the pain as you fell down on your side and groaned in pain.

"Pick a god and pray!"

Frederick came out of nowhere and stabbed the Revenant in the chest, killing in completely once and for all. The Revenant disappeared from his lance by the time Frederick already came to you.

"(y/n)! Just stay with us! The castle isn't that far from here!"

He lifted you bridal style in his arms as you when limp almost lifeless in his arms. So much blood was already staining your shirt and leaking through your mouth. Frederick kicked it into high gear and the wind roared in your ears. The only last thing you would really hear before not hearing what Frederick was saying...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The slight pain in your chest woke you up as it was night time from the darkness outside of the window. The wooden door creaked open to Frederick as he was wearing a brown suit and dark leather pants. He looked good in them and was well groomed.
He looked surprised and set the bowl of water he was holding by the nightstand. "You're awake already?"
"H-How long was I out...?"
"Two days only... but the doctors said it would take a week... must be fast healing you have."
"Y-Yeah," You winced at the pain as it felt like needles were stabbing you each time you moved.
Frederick when over to your side and gently pushed you down. "You need to rest. Too much movement may open up the wound."
"B-But... I have to study up on my books..."
"Lord Chrom said to take you off reading until you can sit up. Now stay still while I change your bandages."
You finally listened to him after a while and let him change your bandages. The cut was in between your chest and stomach and it was a bit hard to not press on anything, but Frederick was being light as air.
You looked up at him while he was changing the wound. His face so focused into place. "F-Frederick... why are you doing this... even though I told you off..."
"Because I have to take care of you, not under Chrom's orders, but my hearts orders no matter how many times you break it."
You were slightly confused at his statement. "Hearts orders?"
Frederick gave you a small smile and finished with the changing. "I confess I do have feelings for you, (y/n). I've never really been given the chance to prove my worth unless it's on the battle field."
"B-But I always thought you were amazing... even off or on the battle field..."
His smile grew bigger and bigger as he took out a small box. "Then I guess it wouldn't be fair too not show you this?"
Your eyes started letting out tears of joy at the sight of the beautiful ring. It was a simple jewel yet fancy at the same time. Frederick took your hand and kissed it gently.
"My heart is yours m'lady. I vow to defend you as knight and husband until death should part us." His voice rumbled with deep love as he parted his lips from your hand and kissed your forehead. "All I need is a yes."
"Y-Yes! I've always loved you! I-I just never thought you loved me back..."
Frederick smiled as he caressed the side of your face. "I would never have thought a time where I didn't love you. When we first met I wasn't first in love, but after I started seeing your true colors I fell in love right then."
"*sniff* C-Can you please sleep with me Frederick? Just for tonight."
"(y/n). Now that we are married we can always been in each other's arms." He said while carefully, very carefully, snuggling with you in bed and kissed your forehead. "Nothing can change that."
"Nor the love I have for you." You said and yawned cutely.
Frederick's heart melted at your cuteness and sealed it with a kiss. It was warm and loving as you soon fell asleep in his arms. Frederick smiled and covered you both up and hugged you loving towards him...
