Chapter One: What Just Happened?
I woke up one day to see frost on my window. Even though it was May, that didn't surprise me. We had had a late winter this year, and my sleepy brain wasn't registering that we hadn't actually had frost in several weeks. What did surprise me was that there was a trail of frost leading from the window to my bed.
I jolted up. Nothing like a little morning surprise to get you awake.

Ok, now I need your guys' opinions. Should the girl be in her own world, or should she be in Elsa's? Elsa would be in the other world in the girl's body. If the girl was in Elsa's world, she'd have to worry about running the kingdom and Anna. If she was in her OWN world, she would have to think about her parents and her friends and school. So what do you think? Post "Elsa" for the girl being in Elsa's world, or post "the girl" for the girl being in her own world. I'll look at your responses by next Saturday (July 5) night and post my choice. Thanks guys!
Later...
Ok guys, so I've decided to go with the girl. Here's what I wrote at camp so far for chapter one. I hope you guys will like my decision!

I rubbed my eyes, feeling startled, and looked around my bedroom. Swinging my feet down, and dragging the covers with me, I sat up. As I lifted my head up and spun it towards the window, something else swung around too, and landed softly on my shoulder. I picked it up, and it tugged against my scalp.
It was a platinum-blonde braid, laced with little snowflakes, and tied with a soft white hair band. I tugged on it.
"Ouch!"
My eyes widened. Whipping off the covers, I took in the sparkly blue-green dress I was wearing, complete with a delicate, icy train. I practically leapt off the bed.
Oh god, this was bad, this was bad, this was very bad! I opened my door softly, peaked both ways for my parents, then silently bolted to the bathroom. My legs felt awkward, and too long for me, so I ended up banging my knee on the edge of the door. Cursing under my breath, I froze in place, heart pounding in my ears, praying that they hadn't heard. No footsteps. I spun towards the mirror.
A very bewildered and panicked-looking Elsa looked back at me.
"Oh god," I murmured frantically to myself, feeling my way down my body with my hands. I checked my upper arm. The little scar I had gotten from a shot when I was little was gone. Oh, god, oh god, what could this mean?!

Now I personally think of myself as an atheist, and say "god" when I talk, rather than the capital "g" "God", so if I'm offending anyone out there, well excuse me but I was panicking, and have no wish to insult anybody or "take God's name in vain", so to speak.

I heard a crack and looked down, shifting my feet. Ice was spreading across the bathroom tiles. Shoot, I forgot that Elsa's emotions can trigger her powers. I closed my eyes and breathed deeply to calm myself down. I began locking my emotions away, one by one, like I practice in school. Soon the ice stopped spreading, and began to recede as I remembered my love for my family and my friends, although my astonishment still whirled around in my head.
The stairs creaked. I whipped around and silently darted into my bedroom, closing the door behind me. My panic caused the ice to spread across the doorknob. Well, I guess that at least now my parents couldn't come in here and see me like this.
The footsteps came down the hallway, heavy, shuffling footsteps. Dad. I slowed my breathing to calm my nerves and to make sure ice didn't spread out from under my doorway. Pressing my back to the door and closing my hand over the knob, I listened to Dad's knock.
"Hello?" Ariel, are you up yet?" he called softly.
Ok, here came the big test. I took a deep breath, thought up a quick back-up excuse, and replied, "Yeah, I'm getting dressed."
I let out a big and inaudible sigh of relief. I still sounded like myself, for now at least. Hopefully I could reverse the change before it decided to spread that far.
Dad hesitated, and I froze up. Had he heard the panick in my voice?
"Ok, sweetie, take your time," he replied a few seconds later. I sighed silently as his footsteps faded, and the stairs creaked again, this time the opposite way. I slid down the door and tried to stay calm while my thoughts raced around wildly in my head.
Thinking quickly, I devised a plan to get out of the house for the day. I grabbed my phone, texted my two best friends, then changed Elsa's dress into a pair of jeans, a light blue t-shirt with a snowflake on it, and threw on my gray hoodie. I slipped my phone into my back pocket, but not before I checked the battery level. 53%. Shoot. Hopefully they would get my texts.
I bolted downstairs, grabbed a muffin, and called to my parents, "Going out to the woods today to meet up with my friends!"
"Ok," Mom replied from the living room. "Just be back in time for lunch!"
Crap. I'd have to worry about that later.
I shot out the back door and ran for the cover of the woods in my vast "backyard."
