I fell to the floor after Zach. His eyes were closed, and I couldn't tell if he was breathing.

"Zach! Zach! Zach! Zach baby wake up. You gotta wake up." I said, seconds later tears had already started to prick my eyes. Stupid emotions. I hated myself for being so helpless and clueless. Instead of crying I wish I just knew what to do.

I pulled Zach's head in my lap. My left fingers started going through the locks of his hair. I ran the fingers of my right hands down his neck until I got to a pulse point. There drumming, and beating was his pulse. Then I could have started crying of joy.

I looked up and there was the man that had shot Zach. He had been in such a rush after us, yet now he was coming towards us slowly. My heart started pounding harder and harder. If only I knew what to do and I wasn't so helpless. I hated not knowing what to do. I hated it so much.
