Mom was a little easier to get passed as we went for our second plane ride together. I was a nervous mess, as always. Elise liked the plane rides. How? I don't know. I feel like humans flirt with death too often these days. If we weren't made to fly, why do we need to fly?

"I want a phone call from BOTH of you every night. Got it?" Mom told us both.

"Yes Mom, we'll be safe. We'll call and all that stuff." I told her.

"Grace, we'll be fine. We'll call and give you updates everyday." Elise said.

"Be safe." Mom added one last time. I kissed her cheek and ruffled my little sister, Sadie's hair. I took Elise's hand and we started down through the airport. Our small suitcases rolled behind us, and our backpacks were on tightly.

After we checked in, we managed to eat something light before boarding our plane. Elise squeezed my hand, letting me know she was there. Takeoff was always the worst. I gripped the handles to my seat and closed my eyes, willing for it all to just be over already.

The plane drove for hours and hours. Night fell and I managed to remove my fingers from the handles. Elsie took her pillow and threw it in my lap. She put her head in my lap, never letting go of my hand. She hadn't got the whole plane ride. Even as she slept, she kept my hand in hers. I kissed the top of her head, causing her to smile, letting me know she wasn't asleep yet. Not that I was complaining of course.

We traveled the whole night. I couldn't sleep. I was too nervous, I just didn't want to be on this plane period. I wanted to be on the ground.

We were meeting the other lady in Berlin, Germany. I didn't really know much about her. Other than the fact we had to meet her there. She had agreed to meet up with Elise, figuring that they were the only two people on earth that really knew what they were going through.

I was nervous. Maybe it was just the plane ride, but if I was nervous about the whole thing, imagine Elise.

I am pretty sure that this will be the last book in the Story of Us series.
