☆ Chapter 15 ☆
"What do you think the hardest part of your relationship is?"
Jimin sighed and looked down at his and Jungkook's intertwined fingers before looking back up at Dr. Lee.
"What happened with the dare hurt me deeply, and I still find myself sad by it sometimes even thought I know how sorry he still is. We also missed out on most of our teenage years together, so we have a lot of time to make up for."
Jungkook squeezed Jimin's hand tighter at his response and gave him a sad smile.
"And have you forgiven him?"
Jimin looked over at Jungkook, breath catching in his throat. He could tell the younger was biting back tears, scared of his answer. He hadn't asked that in awhile, but last time Jimin had told him no.
"Yes. I have."
He heard Jungkook's sharp inhale and shaky exhale.
"Really?" Jungkook whispered. Jimin smiled and nodded his head, taking the boy's hand and kissing the back of it.
"Forgiveness is one of the biggest steps in healing. I'm glad you've done this, Jimin."
"I'm happy I have too."

Their first appointment with the counselor was difficult to go through, but worth it anyway. It would help them reach their goal of becoming happier again, and help work through the rough patches too.
The two sat on the train together hand in hand heading off to Busan for the weekend. They did that quite often now. It used to be hard for Jimin to face the town that held such beautiful and painful memories, but Jungkook eased that hurt more than anything else could.
"Hey, Jungkookie?"
"Yeah, babe?" Jungkook asked, concern laced in his tone. Jimin couldn't help but smile at how worried he became just at simply calling his name.
"Do you think maybe when we get there we could stop at the cemetery?"
Jungkook's stomach twisted.
"Yeah..."
"I haven't seen them since I first got back to play baseball again." Jimin mumbled, staring at his and Jungkook's hands again. Jungkook turned his head to the side to place a light peck on Jimin's temple. The elder smiled slightly at that, but Jungkook noticed that it didn't reach his eyes.
The cemetery is always dreary, but today it seemed to be strangely serene. It was like going to a peaceful park instead of walking among the graves of so many people that died in probably countless of ways. It was even better with Jimin holding his hand.
After a bit they finally reached their destination. A beautiful weeping willow tree stood tall above the two headstones, and Jimin dropped to his knees immediately letting go of Jungkook's hand in the process.
Jungkook took a few steps back, knowing Jimin would want some space right now. He watched the boy bow deeply for a few moments before sitting up and wiping at the stray tears on his cheeks. He moved closer and laid a hand on each stone and traced the engravings with shaky fingertips.
Jungkook knew this would be a wound that would never heal.
He found himself biting his lip to hold back the tears too. He had to be strong for Jimin right now.
After a few minutes of Jimin just staring and crying silently he blindly reached an arm out behind him, beckoning Jungkook to come over. The younger immediately sat behind him and enveloped him in a hug.
Jimin began sobbing at that and leaned back into Jungkook's chest, grabbing at the man's hands that were around his waist to hold them tightly. Jungkook squeezed him tight and pulled him into his lap as he nuzzled his cheek in the crook of Jimin's neck.
"It's alright baby, I'm right here." He whispered thoughtfully which seemed to calm Jimin down a bit.
"I just wish they were here Kook."
"I know Jiminie. I do too." Jungkook said as he let out a shaky sigh. He finally gave in and let some of the tears fall.
After what felt like hours Jungkook turned Jimin around in his lap. He couldn't stand hearing him sound so sad anymore. It was breaking his heart with each tear.
"They would be so proud of you, Jimin." Jungkook said as he cupped the boy's cheeks and rubbed his thumbs under his eyes to get rid of the tears.
"Their beautiful son is a professional baseball player. They'd be so happy for you Jiminie. They're still so proud of you even if we can't see them."
"Was, Jungkook. Was a professional baseball player."
"Actually..." Jungkook started as he grinned through the tears, "before you said you wanted to come here I was going to take you to the baseball park to tell you the news. But I love that were here, your parents can hear the news too. We can create a happy memory even here in this cemetery!"
Jimin let out a single sad laugh as he shook his head. Jungkook let go of his cheeks to lace their fingers together instead.
"I talked to Taehyungie and my old coach...and I'm going to be back next season!" Jungkook exclaimed. Jimin's face lit up, but his eyebrows soon furrowed as he realized he still wouldn't be playing baseball either.
"And you are going to be the new Tigers hitter Jiminie!"
Jimin's jaw dropped.
"W-what?"
"Welcome to the team, baby." Jungkook took his phone out and showed him a picture of his new jersey Taehyung had sent him. Jimin looked at the phone then back up at Jungkook then down at the phone again before smiling wide and wrapping his arms so tight around Jungkook's neck the boy couldn't breathe.
"Thank you, Jungkookie. Thank you." He mumbled into his neck and Jungkook could feel the wetness of new tears. He hugged Jimin back just as tight and kissed the crown of his head.
"Anything for you, Jiminie."
When Jimin pulled away he took the phone from Jungkook and turned back towards the graves. He turned the photo towards them and smiled with such pride on his face Jungkook swore his heart burst.
"I did it you guys. I did it." He whispered as he lightly touched each headstone again. "Thank you guys for putting me in baseball and introducing me to Jungkookie. I'd be lost without both of them." He whispered as he leaned his forehead against the headstones too.
"I love you mom and dad."
At that Jungkook stepped forward.
"Mr. and Mrs. Park..thank you so much for giving me Jiminie. He makes my life complete and I love him dearly. I know I haven't been the best with him before, but I promise I'll take the best care of him now. He deserves it. I miss you guys." Jungkook said with a bow and a crack in his voice.
Jimin smiled fondly at him and grabbed his hand to lead them away and out of the cemetery.
"Come on Jungkookie, let's go get home runs forever, shall we?"
