Husband's Point of View
"I'm coming home after I'm done. I promise you all that."

I remember that promise that I have to my wife and kids. I wondered to myself this. I guess it was because I wanted to give them at least some hope. I hated seeing them sad. It would've broken my heart if I knew I didn't say that. Because I knew that they would've have as much hope as they did when I told them. I guess I said it to give me some hope too.

I prayed to God up in heaven. My family and I were very religious. We are Mormons, and plan to be forever.

I wasn't Mormon all my life. I converted when I was only 7-years-old. I got baptized a year later. The exact age and the youngest age someone could be baptized at.

I started praying, "Dear Father in Heaven,
Please bless my family to be safe, and taken care of. Please watch over them for me, and strengthen them from this trial, which I know you will strengthen all of us. I put my life into your hands. Thank you for letting me live this life with my family, and if my life will come to an end. I will accept it. Thank you for everything you've done to help us.
I say this in the name of Jesus Christ, amen."
