A Decade And A Half (Part 2)

After breakfast, we were all given free time until our families started to arrived. Melody and I didn't have have to wait long until Alice and Mrs. Reed walked up through the doors. We didn't even realize it, until Alice hugged me from behind.

"Happy Birthday!" Alice cried. I thanked her as she continued to hug me.

"I didn't know you guys got here," I told Alice, smiling. Melody was off talking to her mom.

"Minho said that you better get home in one piece, or he isn't going to be the happiest, he added a few more detailed words in there that got him grounded, but the point got across," Alice said.

"He swore?" I asked.

"He's Minho," Alice laughed.

"Guys, this is my sister, Alice," I introduced Alice to Ray, Caine, and Hunter. "These are my friends, Ray, Caine and Hunter."

"Oh my goodness, you have friends?" Alice teased. I hit her arm, rolling my eyes.

"I know, we're surprised too," Ray said, with a smile.

"Oh, shut up," I said, rolling my eyes again.

"Come on, I want to tour New York, and we don't have a lot of time today," Alice said.

"Can I go change then?" I asked.

"No, we have to go," she said. Typical Alice.

"Bye, guys," I said. I told Mr. Simpson where we were going and then we left. We walked around the nosy city.

"It's so dirty," Alice said.

"I don't ever want to live in a city, too much going on all the time," I said.

"I don't ether, it already feels so much more stressed out," Alice said. We walked down the coast of the water. We walked around, just talking about life and how everything was changing back home.

"Come on, let's go grab something to eat," Alice said a little while later. I looked at my watch, it was already 2:00 PM.

"There's lunch at the hotel, if you want to go back," I said.

"Nope, we're going to eat out today, we'll be back for the activity you guys are doing," Alice said.

"But we don't have to pay for the food back at the hotel," I told her.

"Kyle, it's your birthday, we're going out," Alice said. We went out at a small restaurant and ate some cheese pizza, that cost us twice as much as it should have. We went and bought ice cream, and then started back to the hotel.

We walked in just as Mr. Simpson was rounding up all the kids.

"Family members, please stay here for a moment, while I speak to the children for a second, children, please follow me," Mr. Simpson said. Confused, we all followed Mr. Simpson. We all went in a dark room, no lights were on, no light.

"What's going on?" Melody asked me, if only I could answer her. The door behind us was closed with a loud bang, leaving us in pitch darkness. Someone started yelling and a few people ran to the door. Fists pounded on the door and cries broke out.

"What the heck! Let us out!"

"Does anyone know where the light is?"

"We're going to die!"

Swears broke out around the room from a various amount of people. Melody shifted closer to me slightly. Her arm brushed my arm in the movement, like full on touch and all.

"You have an hour to escape: The Elimination Escape Room! Good luck!" Mr. Simpson's voice rang out around. I heard Hunter let out a round of swears underneath his breathe.

"I ain't ever gunna sign for for this stuff ever again," Ray said from somewhere to my right.

"Guys, we need to find a light!" Merida called into the darkness.

"No, duh, Einstein," Hunter said.

"What do you suggest we do, Sherlock Holmes?" Merida snapped at Hunter.

"Everyone spread around, run your hands over the walls and if we cover everything, we'll find the light switch," Hunter said. Everyone started moving around. Merida didn't reply to Hunter's idea. In a few minutes, the lights flickered on.

"I found it!" Nani cried. Her braids fell in her face as she talked, but she quickly pulled them back, still smiling. I glanced around the room. It was a normal, rectangle sized room. There were four smaller doors, and a large door that we had come through. The room we were in was covered in desks with messy papers and a few books thrown all around. It looked like a bomb went of in an office, and sent everything flying without completely destroying it all.

"How about that? Einstein?" Hunter said to Merida.

"Let's just get out of here," Merida said, rolling her eyes. We went for the door, but when we actually got to see it, we found that it had five different locks on it. Five locks all eight different shapes and colors.

"It just couldn't be easy," Joy said, who surprisingly hadn't said anything since we got here.

"Is this too stressful for you?" Levi taunted Joy.

"Shut up, LQ," Joy snapped.

"You can't shut up for the life of you!" Levi shouted.

"At least I don't scream 24/7!" Joy yelled back at him.

"Both of you shut up! We need to get out of here!" Pandora snapped at both of them.

"Mind your own business, Pandora," Joy told Pandora, with a strong amount of attitude.

"BOTH OF YOU SHUT UP! I AM HUNGRY AND I WANT TO GET OUT SO I CAN EAT!" Ray yelled at us all. We stood, staring at him, with wide eyes. Ray didn't yell, or talk really much in a large group. He looked furious now though. "You two, you're not going to be near each other. Joy? Levi? If you say anything to each other, Lord help me, but I will snap and punch you both until you shut up with your childish behavior. Pandora, don't butt into their personal issues, you weren't asked to help, so don't. UNDERSTOOD?" he told us all. They shook their heads.

"Hey, mate, ya might want to tune it down, just a little," Caine told Ray, quietly. Ray acted like he didn't hear Caine.

"There are clearly five different keys to this door, since this room looks like it has multiple windows and doors, my best guess it that there are four other rooms. We'll split up into five groups and each group with cover a room. They will NOT come out of that room until they find their key, understood? Good. If you find your key, keep it and help some other folks, got it?" Ray said. This time he paused slightly, for us to answer. Agreement rose around the room. "Great, cause I want my sandwich."

Author's Note

I love Ray. Ray likes his food like Kyle likes his butter.

Above is Leah's half sister (I realized that I never put her picture up sooooooooo)
