Courage dreaded visiting her insane aunt, but once again her mother had forced her to.
She had gone mad after she went to the rift between Imagination and Reality one night with two other Patchcats, and come back alone screaming about Chaos. Neither of the others had ever been seen again, and all Patchcats had been forbidden to go anywhere near the rift. Now she lived alone, away from everyone. A thick forest of trees separated her from the rest of Patchcat's society, and the chirping of birds helped drown out the sound of her crazy mutterings. A few of the weird things she had said had been about Courage, so her mother thought it was a good idea to have her take care of her aunt, bringing her food and making sure she was okay. Courage thought that it was ridiculous.

"Hello, Aunt Hope." She sighed.

Hope turned around to face her niece. "Have you stopped Chaos yet, Courage?" Then she shook her head. "No, Pollution still seeps into our world. I feel it tainting my spirit, my Creativity. How am I the only one who can feel it? Why does no one believe me?"

"Because you're crazy, Hope." Courage answered, trying to focus on birdsong instead of her aunt. "Anyway, I brought you some fish. Enough to last a few days."

"I don't feel well enough to eat them." Hope said miserably.

Courage didn't hear her. She was already running back into the woods. However, she did hear her shout...

"Chaos is rising!"
