You Interest Me

You backpedal into your headboard, looking at the demon warily as your brain scrambles to remember the prayers. The demon crawls onto your bed, tail swishing calmly behind him. "Not ignoring me now... Humans sure are skittish at night," He comments, crossing his legs as his silver eyes observe you. Unable to recall the prayer you decide to respond.

"What do you want?" You murmur carefully. He tilts his head, raising an eyebrow.

"And now you wish to speak to me?" He muses with a smirk. "Couldn't think of a prayer could you?" He guesses.

"I thought of it," You lie, "I just wanna know why you're here." Yellow flashes over his eyes and he chuckles.

"You can't lie to a demon, human girl, we can identify sins with ease," He rumbles. You swallow at that. "And you just lied twice," He breathes, silver eyes boring into yours. "Care to try again?"

"Fine... I didn't think of one, and you creep me out. Please get out of my room." You request carefully.

"What a polite human... But no," He says, still smirking.

"Why??" You ask, glancing toward the door carefully.

"You interest me," He answers simply, following your gaze to the door curiously. "Also, spirits have no affect on demon's, so you might want to tell him that before he does something stupid," He adds, drawing your gaze back to him. The prayer finally comes to mind and you start to say it, making him sigh. "Those won't keep me away long, I'll be back miss human." He says before he disappears into darkness.

"___? Who're talking to?" Your dad asks, poking his head in through the door.

"No one dad, just had nightmare is all," You assure, laying back down. He blinks and glides over, somehow tripping at your bedside. You blink and giggle at that, relaxing considerably. He gets back up, smiling a bit at the fact you laughed.

"Well, at least my clumsiness is good for one thing," He comments, stroking your hair. You smile.

"Thanks dad, goodnight," You murmur, starting to fall asleep.

"Goodnight my princess," He whispers.

BEEP BEEP BEEP!! You turn over and hit the snooze button, harder than you had meant to. Once it's silent, you turn back over to fall back asleep, but the silver orbs that you see peering at from the edge of your bed prevent that.

"Shouldn't you be getting up miss human?" He asks. You groan and pull your blankets up over your head.

"Go away.." You grumble. He smirks and easily rips the blankets off of you, making you shiver. "Oi! What's your deal!?" You huff, glaring at him as you try to grab for your blankets.

"Interesting, you're easily angered in the morning," He comments with a handsome smirk.

"I'm not a morning person alright? Give me back my blankets!" You growl, reaching again only to have the demon to toss them into the opposite wall. "No!" You groan, putting your head to the bed. The demon's tail swishes with amusement. Your alarm sounds again and you turn it off with a sigh.

"___! Time to wake up--" The light turns on as your dad comes through the wall cheerfully. However he freezes when he sees the amused demon standing beside your bed. "Bastard!!" He roars, lunging at the demon, but trips and falls.

"Dad, you can't..." You begin as the demon's tail wraps around his ankle and lifts him up. Your dad dangles upside down by the demon's slender tail.

"You smell old Mr. Ghost, shouldn't you cross over already?" The demon comments calmly.

"I'll never cross over as long as there's a demon sniffing around my little princess!" Rocinante declares. You and the demon sweatdrop.

"Mr. Demon, please put my dad down," You request. His silver eyes return to you.

"On one condition," He replies.

"What's that?" You ask warily.

"You don't say any prayers for the whole day," He bargains, looking at you seriously.

"Not even for the test?" You frown in slight worry. He blinks, your question had caught him off guard.

"Test?" He echoes, looking a bit confused.

"Yes, I have a major math test today that I need to pass," You explain.

"Don't worry my smart little princess!! You'll pass no problem!" Rocinante chimes, still upside down. The demon looks between you and him before rolling his eyes.

"Fine. But only that one, we got a deal?" He asks, holding out his hand.

"Deal." You say, taking his hand, "I thought demons seal deals with a kiss?" You inquire, tilting your head as he gives your hand a brisk shake.

"___!" Rocinante warns as he is set down.

"It's just a question," You reply.

"That is true Ms. Human, however we only use kisses to seal deals involving souls." The demon informs as you retract your hand.

"Oh, that makes sense... Anyway. I need to get ready for school... Could you two give me some privacy?" You request, getting out of bed.

"Sure!" Rocinante chimes.

"No," The demon responds bluntly. Your dad glares at him at that.

"Mr. Demon please. I will be right our," You sigh.

"I have no interest in your body, Ms. Human." He assures. You rub your temple and reach into your dresser, grabbing prayer beads.

"I will not ask again Mr. Demon," You warn, holding them up. He looks at the beads for a bit, before meeting your gaze and smirking.

"Very well," He says before leaving your room with your dad close behind. You relax and get dressed swiftly.

"Why me?" You mutter before heading out, finding the ghost and the demon in the kitchen. Your dad openly glaring at the demon, and the demon calmly munching on a cookie and sitting on a stool. You blink, briefly looking at him warily before making something for breakfast.

"Hey. Don't stand so close to her!" Your dad growls, making you well aware of the demon peering over your shoulder.

"Relax Mr.Ghost, I'm simply observing her," The demon responds calmly, making no move to back away frown you.

"Um.... Mr. Demon, how long do you plan to follow me around?" You ask, moving around him and sitting down to eat.

"Haven't decided yet," He rumbles leaning on the back of your chair. "Depends if I'm still interested at the end of the day," He muses. He leans next to your ear. "And something tells me I will."

Dear God, please let to day be the most boring day in all of existence!!
