A/N: Hello and welcome to 'Last Night' my zombie apocalypse story! (name might change later). There will be some '[name] glares at [name]' because I do not yet have permission to use everyone's name yet! So when I do I will edit that into the story. :)

Also the high school names are fake (I hope) because one of the other people requested for me to change the high school names. :)

Kira woke up slightly and looked over at Lauren, who was over at Kira's for a sleepover. Kira smiled and fell back asleep.

Lauren woke up then and looked around the room. She still lived with her parents, as did Kira, because they still went to high school. Kira went to CatsRCrazy State High School, and Lauren went to WeRReallyCrazy State High.

Lauren shook Kira awake. "Look at the time!" Lauren whispered. "It's almost midnight! Almost 2021!"

Kira sat bolt upright, almost smacking Lauren in the face. "Sorry." Kira whispered. They watched the clock as it slowly changed. Then Kira remembered this very day, a few years ago, at the 2016/17 Woodford. She and her friends Ix and Anisah had stayed up until midnight, counting down the moments until their 'death' because they stared High School in 2017.

There was a crash from the kitchen, then the clock struck 00:00. Kira felt a tingle of fear and realised something was wrong.

"Lauren. Something is very wrong."

Lauren felt it too. Both girls stood up slowly, holding their torches. Kira had her phone with her, ready to dial 000. There was a load moan, and Lauren shot out the door. Kira followed swiftly, then screamed. Lauren stood there, shaking. Kira's mum, her younger brother and her stepdad were all zombies! Kira smashed through the wall leading to her 13 year-old sister's room.

"Wake up!" Kira screamed. "Zombies!"
