Chapter 7: Kidnapped

Natalie's P. O. V.

Nearly 20 minutes went by, while we sat there. However, just as I had predicted the moment didn't last. My mother had returned, carrying an outfit in hand for Henry. She dropped it at his feet, "Get dressed. Both of you come with me."

Sighing, I knew better than to argue with her. I stood slowly. I did not want to leave his arms, and it seemed he didn't want to either, but we both knew better than to defy her. I didn't look back as he got dressed. I glanced at him when his arm wrapped around my waist. The electricity that vibrated across my skin from the touch. A shiver spread up my spine as my eyes fell closed. His touch was amazing and it snared my senses. All I could think about was him.

The sound of my mother clearing her throat brought me back to reality. Together the two of us followed her silently through the territory. I couldn't help but wonder what was going to happen once we reached the pack house. My mother could easily send him away and I would never see him again. The thought saddened me. However, whatever she picked she knew she had to live with. There was no challenging the Luna and surviving it.

Once we had arrived at the pack house my mother lead us inside and straight into her office. Seeing no one made me slightly suspicious. It seemed my mother had cleared out the area before bringing in the other packs Alpha. "Mom.." I spoke, but the look she gave me instantly made words fail me. The serious look in her eyes was actually terrifying. Nodding I moved away from him and sat down on the couch. Henry had to do this on her own. I was meant to sit and be silent. That had become very obvious. I suppose I was lucky enough to be in the room. She could have easily sent me away.

Henry stiffened slightly as I left his side, his gaze locking with my mother's. They weren't speaking out loud, but it seemed they were having a conversation with just their eyes. Confusion filled me as I looked back and forth between the two of them, wishing I could hear the conversation taking place. Finally one of them spoke. Henry. "I know she is not 18 yet. I am not stupid enough to do anything to her, but I have been waiting for a long time for her. Please do not keep her from me. I will fight for her."

My mother watched him through a slit eyes. "I know you will Henry." She leaned back in her chair and closed her eyes. It seemed she was formulating a plan for this odd twist of events. Subconsciously I looked down and played with the edge of my dress. After only five minutes the Luna sighed. "You may come visit her, but they will be supervised visits until she is 18. It's either that or you won't see her at all until she is 18."

Henry clearly stiffened at the regulations of their visitation. His fists clenched at his side, but he remained quiet as he seemed to think over the options. "I'm not 5 anymore. I know how to behave. I don't need a chaperone. If you are going to be so foolish with your demands I will just take her." I stiffened in my seat at the thought of him taking me from my mother. It was that moment where I wished I could hear his thoughts.

My mother glared at him. It was becoming very clear how angry she was getting, "You dare challenge me?" Her hair began to whip around her as a sudden wind started swirling around the room, picking up objects as it went and swirling them around the room. Henry's eyes went wide as he stared at her in fear. The look on his face as clear. What was she? Leaning back into the couch I watched in horror. My mother could do magic? Like real magic? She'd been hiding this from me my whole life? How was this real?

Wait. If she could do magic did that mean I could too? After a few moments the wind died down. "You take my daughter and I will be your worst nightmare." The Luna snarled at the other Alpha. Henry took a small step away from her, but looked to me. His fearful expression turned into an angry one. Something snapped inside him. His eyes turned back to my mother. Apparently something about my expression must have made him suddenly want to challenge my mother. "Watch me." Before anyone could react I was yanked up from the couch and in his arms. He held me against his chest. My heart hammered in my chest. I'd finally shifted for one day and now I was being kidnapped, by my mate no less. Fear shone brightly in my eyes. I didn't think Henry would hurt me. I was his mate. He wouldn't. Right?

I stared at my mother, she went from angry to furious. Her eyes began glowing as she snarled at my mate. I could sense the anger radiating off my mother, and the fear. She feared losing me, but she didn't attack him. If she hurt him it would hurt me and she knew it. There was also the chance I could get hurt in the crossfires. Henry was using my as a shield as we continued to back away from the office. Maybe it hadn't been such a good idea to empty the pack house for this.

The touch of my mate sent my skin into a frenzy, but for the first time I desperately craved to be let free. I didn't want to go. This was my home. My family were here. I did not want to go to some new pack full of strangers. It seemed I had no choice in the matter. We were already out of the pack house, still walking backwards, at least until we hit the treeline. Then he picked me up and tossed me over his shoulder. As soon as he began running I started to thrash. My initial shock finally subsiding. Before I couldn't seem to react. Now all I wanted to do was scream and get free. That's exactly what I did. I screamed at the top of my lungs. "Help! Somebody help me please!" My sudden outburst caused Henry to growl and run faster.

We were nearing the border, when three large wolves began chasing after us. Henry heard them coming and began running even faster. I looked to the wolves as they crashed through bushes and came into view. My mother was at the lead, my father was to her left and one of the warriors was to her right. A surge of hope filled me. They could get to me. They could get me free. I began struggling more at the sight of my pack trying to get to me. Henry's grip tightened on me. Looking over my shoulder I saw the river. "No!" I screamed again and struggled as hard as I could. If he made it to his territory I wouldn't be safe. My mother couldn't come onto their territory without their permission, or declaring war.

My mother howled at my screams and picked up her pace. The Luna didn't want to hurt her daughter, but if breaking her arm or something seemed minor compared to losing her daughter and having to declare a war to get her back. The large white wolf locked her eyes on Henry and snarled. The water in the river began to slosh onto the banks and large waves began to rise out of the river and crash down on the ground. I knew it was my mother controlling the water, but I feared what might happen if I got pulled into the water. Henry growled and leapt over the river and landed on the other bank. It wasn't graceful either. He landed in mud and rolled, this leap had knocked me loose from his grip. I too rolled in the mud.

Gasping for air I felt a sharp pain in my chest as I gripped whatever was causing it, my fingers wrapped around a stick that had pierced my chest. Pulling it free I gasped in pain and snapped the stick like a twig from my unnatural strength. CLosing my eyes I groaned and put pressure on the wound. I couldn't run to them. I couldn't even stand. I was free yet still trapped. I wanted to get to them, but I couldn't My packmates stood on the edge of the river staring at her in horror. In unison my parents lifted their heads and howled together. The whole pack would be able to hear them. They would all know I had been taken.

Hands wrapped around my arms and began lifting me. I screamed and thrashed, "No!" My eyes saw my mate as he began pulling me away. I wasn't even safe with my own mate. It was like a horror story. As he carried me my wound throbbed in pain, my blood staining his shirt. I called out to my parents, but there was nothing they could do. I caught the look of hatred in my mother's eyes and I knew then that she would declare war on this pack and was willing to do anything to get me back.

The blood loss was beginning to get to my head. Images began blurring around me. I tried to focus my sight, but the trees around me began blurring together. I couldn't see the river or my family anymore. I was already deep in enemy territory. Footsteps vaguely hit my ears as I slowly began to slip out of consciousness. The sound of a shift made me realize those footsteps had actually been paw-steps. I was too weak to argue with myself over the non-importance of correcting myself. A voice hit my ears, but it sounded muffled compared to the sound of my heart thumping in my chest.

"Henry what have you done?" Then everything went black.
