Chapter 25: Outing

Third Person POV

At the restaurant, the waiter came and kept the menu in front of Aarav. They often come to the restaurant as it's their favourite spot.

The waiter smiled looking at Aarav.. "Are.. aapne raat mein kaala chasma kyun pehna hua hai sir??" he questioned.

Vineet was about to reply, but Ruhana stopped him as she wanted Aarav to give an answer.

"Kyuki.. Mai.." he paused, Aarav closed his eyes for a moment.. "Kyuki main ab dekh nahi sakta hun.."

RuVi smiled hearing him, the waiter was saddened hearing him. "Sorry sir.. Toh aap apna special dish hi order karenge??" he asked

Aarav nodded in yes, the waiter took order from RuVi and then left.

"That is like my brave son.. Jo tum ho use accept karo and move on" Vineet said proudly.

Aarav smiled at him, the food arrived. Ruhana served the food on his plate and Aarav ate it. After the dinner, Aarav asked to walk towards Marine Drive as it has been a long time.

They started walking towards the Marine Drive, Vineet said "aarav.. Udhar Taj hotel hai.."

Aarav just listened to his parents, they stopped when they were at the beach. Aarav left his parents hand and headed towards the bank of the sea.

He stopped when the water touched his feet, he sat down and closed his eyes feeling the waves and sound of the sea as it gave him a feeling of peace in his mind.

A ball was about to hit him but he caught it on time as he had felt it with his sharp hearing power. He threw it back towards the direction and the child said "Thank you bhaiya.."

Aarav just smiled at him...

Ruhana and Vineet saw him and were relaxed.. "Ab lagta hai sab thik hoga Ruu.." Vineet said.

"Haan.. par abhi ise bahut kuch seekhna hai.. " Ruhana replied.

Vineet glanced at her "matlab?"

"Haa.. abhi sirf humhe mehsus kar sakta hai.. Baaki sab cheezein pehchan ne mein bahut waqt leta hai.. Main research kiya tha ek tutor bulana hoga jo ye sab ache se isko samjha sake aur help kar sakte" Ruhana spoke...

Vineet understood what she meant, he agreed but said "kuch din baad.. Ruhana.. We have to be slow and steady"

She shook her in yes, Aarav stood up and approached them. Vineet asked "Ghar chale?"

"Haa.." Aarav replied and they returned home.

Everything went smoothly after that day, Aarav was sitting on the couch and listening to the cricket match. He jumped on the couch when India won the match "yess...."

Ruhana came out of the kitchen hearing his scream, she had a sigh of relief when he was perfectly fine.

"Aarav.. You scared me" she said.

Aarav bit his tongue out.. "Maa wo india match jeet gaya na.. Isliye"

Ruhana smiled seeing his cheerful face. The doorbell rang, Aarav touched his watch and the voice said "6pm.."

"Dad aa gaye main kholta hun" he said and headed towards the door. As soon as he opened the door he felt another unknown figure beside his father.

He asked "Dad.. aapke saath kaun hai?"

"Aarav andar toh aane do" Vineet replied.

Aarav stepped aside and let him in, Ruhana looked at the person "Thank you.. For coming"

"Not at all mam.. Ye toh mera job hai aajse ek mahine ke liye Aarav ki zimmedari meri" the female voice spoke.

Aarav was bewildered, he asked "kaisi zimmedari??"

Vineet asked him to settle down on the couch, he denied and gave him a questionable look.. "Kya ho raha hai Dad? Kaun hai ye?"

"She is your tutor Aarav.. Tumhe different touches, smell insaan ko pehchaanna ye sab sikhayegi" Ruhana replied.

Aarav was surprised hearing her, he can't trust anyone other than his own parents. "No.. mujhe kisise kuch nahi seekhna hai.. I just need both of you" he said in a stubborn tone.

"Par Aarav..." Vineet tried to explain.

"No means no" he said in a bit of an annoyed tone and headed towards his room on the way he hit the cabinet and the vase dropped down on the floor. He closed the door behind, RuVi exchanged glances.

"Sneha.. Just give us two minutes.. Usse baat karke aate hai hum" Ruhana said while looking at Sneha.

Sneha smiled and said "I understand"

Aarav's POV

I sat down on the bed crossing my arms around the chest, how can they hire anyone else for me. I don't need anyone to teach me what to do?

I heard the door opening sound, they had entered the room and I could feel where they were standing. I looked towards the direction and said "uss ladki ko wapas jaane ko kah dijiye"

"Aarav you promised tum hamari baat maanoge" Vineet uttered.

"Haa toh main aapki baat maanunga kisi aur ki nahi.." I said in adamant tone.

"Aarav.. Zid mat karo kahi bhej thodi rahe hai tumhe hum ghar mein hi sab hoga" Ruhana exclaimed.

I shook my head in no.. "kyun?? Abtak aapne aur Dad ne sambhlana hai na.. Toh aur koi kyun?" I questioned.

"Aarav.. Don't get us wrong.. Bas kuch important learning hai" Vineet replied.

"Dad please, mujhe kisise kuch nahi seekhna hai I will manage myself" I said.

"We know tum manage kar loge.. Har subject ke liye tutor chahiye hota hai aur tumhe iski zaroorat hai" Ruhana said holding his hand.

"Toh aap aur Dad ho na... main ghar se bhaag jaunga agar wo ladki mere aas paas bhi aayi toh bol raha hun" I replied in a threatening tone.

I received a light slap on my cheek from my father "ye ghar se bhaag jaane ki dhamki toh tum do hi mat..."

I made a face but was adamant at my decision. I heard another voice "sorry to interrupt.. Par main kuch kehna chahti hun"

"Parents ke bada teacher koi nahi hota hai.. And he is right abtak aapne sab kiya hai toh aage bhi kar lenge.. I should leave" Sneha said.

I had a sigh of relief and said "huh.. Wo samajh gayi aap dono nahi samjhe how immature"

"Immature tum ho hum nahi samjhe.. Tumhari nautanki aur zid ki wajah se wo gayi hai" Ruhana replied.

I gave her a look and smiled innocently..

"Sorry bahut pareshan karta hun na main aapko" I said in a serious tone.

"Ab tum nahi karoge toh kaun karega??" Vineet asked, grabbing my hand.

A smile curled up my lips, and the day passed in blur.

Later at night, I moved to my study desk and sat down on the chair. I grabbed the second book from the shelf and touched the label.

I had written my name "Aarav Singhania" in all my books. I remembered the horrifying accident, I survived but lost my eyesight and my dreams shattered within a few seconds. The void of this can never be filled.

I took a deep breath and composed myself. I have to be happy for my parents who stood by my side, helped me recover from the trauma. I wanted to be a support to them but ended up becoming a pain for a lifetime.

I stood up and touched the trophies which I won during school and college days. My parents were so proud of me, unfortunately now I can't give them the moment of proudness anymore.

I felt a touch on my hair and it was my mother's hand. She said "we are still proud of you.."

How did she understand what I was thinking of? She is a mother of course can understand my silence.

"Maine koi proud waala kaam kiya nahi hai maa.. Aur aage kar bhi nahi paunga" I said painly.

"Aisa nahi kehte hai Aarav.." she said rubbing her hand in between my hairs.

"Sach hai na maa.. Anyways so jayie.." I said, I touched my watch and the voice said '3 am"

"3 bajh gaye hai.. Subah aapko jaldi uthna hai Dad ko office jaana hai aur phir aapka bhi online business hai" I exclaimed and stood up from the chair. I moved to the bed and lay down with a smile on my face.

I just wish, I was able to do something and not feel a burden on my parents but there was no ray of hope.

I felt her presence beside me, and asked "maa aap"

She held my hand and I sat up. I eyed her and she spoke "Aarav insaan utna hi bebas lachar hota hai jitna wo khudko samjhta hai samjhe"

I nodded in yes, she further said "tum apni mann ki aankhon se duniya ko dekho phir sab kuch aasan ho jayega tumhare liye"

I smiled hearing her and assured her "koshish karunga maa..."

She said "no koshish you have to do it.. Aur mujhe mera purane waala beta wapas dena hi hoga samjhe"

"maa, par dil mein hamesha iss baat ka dukh rahega ki main aapke liye dad ke liye kuch nahi kar sakta.. Hamesha aap dono hi mujhe sambhaloge" I replied.

"kar toh rahe ho tum Aarav, nayi shuruwat apni kami ko apnake uske saath jeene ki shuruwat isse zyda aur kya chahiye humhe haan?" she said softly.

I looked on at her with a smile, she kissed my forehead and left the room. I was thoughtful about her words and smiled, for my parents I have to bring back my self confidence.
