Maplepaw awoke to a prodding in her side, it had been three moons since the gathering and she felt at ease that the clans weren't fighting. Maplepaw look at the cat who had awoken her, it was merely Viperstar.
"Get up you lazy apprentice time to go on a hunting patrol," Viperstar hissed, Maplepaw rolled her eyes before quickly grooming herself and running out to the patrol. She padded along sniffing for prey, as she neared the riverclan border she caught the scent of a water vole. Maplepaw quickly dropped into a hunters crouch and slowly and quietly she stalked the plump vole, as she neared it she saw it drinking from a small pool not far from the stream. Maplepaw seeing as she had the advantage lunged and quickly killed the vole before it made any noise, as soon as she lifted her head up she smelled riverclan and quickly hid in a bush.
"Silverheart why are we doing this?" Came the all too familiar voice of Reedpaw, a cat turned and hissed at him.
"Because Thunderclan cats have been stealing prey from sunning rocks so we are stealing theirs," came the hiss of a she-cat, the apprentice shut his mouth. Reedpaw was the first to smell Maplepaw and quickly disguised his scent with hers, he noticed her in a bush but kept going when silverheart hissed at him.
"Thunderclan apprentice, fresh too," silverheart hissed, she was the worst cat to mess with and by bad luck was his mentor.
"So what an apprentice will do no harm," Reedpaw sneered, silverheart glared at him.
"No but the apprentice could simply get help and our mission will fail," silverheart hissed once more, Reedpaw shut his mouth and Maplepaw tried to quickly sneak off with her vole. By bad luck she stepped on a stick that drew the attention of the bad tempered silverheart, as quick as lighting a large silver she-cat was pinning Maplepaw hissing and spitting in fury. Reedpaw rushed at silverheart and knocked her sideways, silverheart yowled but not loud enough to draw a patrol over.
"Wait until Rainstar hears about you attacking a Thunderclan apprentice on Thunderclan territory while you made me come along to steal prey," Reedpaw spat at silverheart before helping Maplepaw up, Maplepaw nodded her thanks and silverheart dashed off.
"Thanks for helping me against your own clanmate," Maplepaw meowed cleaning her fur, Reedpaw just shrugged.
"Silverheart is jealous because she wasn't made deputy and Rockclaw was," Reedpaw meowed, the two chatted for a bit before Reedpaw had to go.
"See you here tomorrow?" Maplepaw meowed, Reedpaw nodded and both cats ran off.
