Chapter Two

AP Biology, why did I sign up for this class again? I didn't like Pre-AP Biology nor any science class for that matter so being in this class still shocked me. But I needed a AP science credit for college and so here I was.

At least this class had natural light and wasn't completely closed up and stuffy like my bio class my freshman year was. That was bad. It made my claustrophobia go haywire and caused many small panic attacks because I felt too boxed in.

But with the big open windows opening into the courtyard here and plenty of sunlight streaming in I was sure that would not happen again this year and so far two months into the year I was still doing fine. And for that I was excited.

The class was slowly filling up with students and everyone was taking a seat. So I found an empty lab table and plonked down into the chair. My attitude slowly dwindled as more and more students filed in and took their seats. There were so many here why were there so many here? Nobody even likes Biology.

I huffed and shuffled around with my back-pack trying to find my writing notebook. If it was going to be bored in this class I might as well write some more chapters. I finally found it in the depths of my bag and brought it out onto my desk.

'Cassie ran through the woods, twisting and turning through the limbs and branches of the trees, the sound of footfalls behind her getting closer and closer. She pushed forward determined no to stop knowing that by stoping it would mean certain---

A sudden thud shook me from my writing and I jerked up to see a huge military style backpack on top of the desk. I continued upward and saw a girl in a black skull shirt with dark jeans with chains hanging out of the pockets. She had dark brown straggly hair that hung in lumps and raccoon style makeup. Pretty much, really scary looking and the total opposite of me.

"Uhh hi?" I said in a way so that it was a asked as a question. I clicked my pen closed and shut the cover of the journal looking at the girl questionably.

"Sup" was the strange girls only reply as she pulled out the chair and sat down in the chair next to mine. "Sure grab a seat" I muttered more to myself under my breath, as she situated herself down. I just watched her as she dug around in her backpack pulling out a notebook and a pen and placing them on the desk in front of her.

"So...uh...who are you?" I asked her. I had never seen her before but that didn't mean anything there are a lot of people in the school I had never met before.

"Lex" was her only reply. She didn't even bother looking up from the notebook to do so. What a bitch.

"So... you new here?" I asked attempting to have a civil conversation with her. She might be a bitch, but I would still be polite to her. I could tell that she didn't want to talk but if she was going to sit here she was going to talk to me.

"Yeah." Was her only reply.

Awesome a one worded sentence, I really wanted to find out what her problem was with me and help her get the stick out of her butt. If she didn't want to talk she should not have sat here. She should have sat alone.

"Cool. Where'd you move here from."

"New York."

"Wow the big apple, that's cool, what's it like?" I ask genially interested. I'd always wanted to go to New York, it was the best place to go for show biz and I had big dreams of performing on Broadway one day.

"It's nice, crowded but nice."

Awesome a full sentence maybe she's starting to warm up to me. "I bet it's really different from our small little town. Huh?" I ask smiling, our town only had maybe three thousand people and the high school with five hundred students total.

I loved it here, the quaint little town were everybody knows everybody, a real water tower town.

"It's different, and nobody gets shot so that's a plus." She shrugs nonchalantly as if it was normal for people to get shot up everyday. I shuddered at the thought of living with that. The worse we have is the occasional animal attack which only happen every few years or so.

"We'll I'm sure that's a plus then." I smiled.

"Yepp." She didn't quite smile but a small glimmer of one slightly appeared. Yeah!! I'm making progress.

Just then the teacher entered the room and the class fell silent. He was tall like 6" 5 or so with sandy brown hair that was disheveled and messy but still immensely nice. Straight up? He was good looking and fine. But as he moved I felt something odd and off about him. I just couldn't put my finger on what it was.

He looked emtimatating and radiated power, a lot of power. I could feel it spreading through the room. I shivered unconsciously. Lex looked at me with a strange expression on her face but I just injnored it and tried to pay attention to the teacher at the front of the class room.

"Hello senior class my name is Mr. Gregori and I am your Advanced Placement Biology teacher for the rest of the year." Wow his voice, so beautiful it had me quivering in my seat. He had a strange accent, foreign like his name though he didn't look it.

Oh god what is my problem? I never act like this ever. He continues talking about the class and the expectations that he has for us and so on. but I don't hear any of it I'm too busy trapped in my thoughts to care about anything else.

The bell rings and jults me from my thoughts and I quickly grab my things and hustle out of the class room and away from him. For some reason he makes my skin crawl and not in a good way.

As I run out I catch a glimpse of Lex and Mr. Gergori's intrigued and amused expressions. Something was up, and I was going to find out.
